Blue Haven NSW Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhat is the warranty on your concrete pools. My pool has a leak.
Under the Home Building Act the warranty for all builders is the same. Six (6) years on Structure and two (2) years on cosmetic. Manufacturers warranty applies on equipment and pipework is 12 months.
In regard to leaks there can be many factors to consider to isolate the reduction of water.
The most important steps to take are process of elimination when trying to find the root.
Firstly, you could check around and see / identify any visible leaks or wet areas. Equipment may be leaking.
Secondly, ensure that no new works have been done around the pool that could have punctured an external pipe - like a fence spigot, ground works for a concrete slab, excavation or landscaping.
Lastly, turn off the pool equipment and let the pool water level drop. if it goes below the internal penetration such as lights, skimmer box, return lines then its likely coming from the hydro static valve on the floor of the pool. If it stops dropping at the internal penetration - for example - stops dropping water at the same level as the pool light - then the light canister rim may be leaking.
If you have any concerns, you can engage a leak detection company to come to your home and dive in the pool and carry out some tests to help identify the leak without letting the water out. They can re-seat a hydro that has lifted and also seal most pipes underwater.
Are you still at Landale, or have you closed your business?? Cannot get a response about getting our over contract time, pool finished??
Best of luck. They don’t respond. Worst company ever.
We are loosing patience!!!
They have told me completion will start next week, hopefully they honour what they say & this turns into a good review?
Hi it’s been 12months since we paid a $6000 deposit for a concrete pool & we have heard nothing, when can we expect a date please? Coopers from Holmesville
I can’t help you. We waited a similar length of time but to be fair this was in the height of the pandemic, so hard to get tradies etc.
Meanwhile, the pool company has your deposit, there’s nothing you can do, so there’s no incentive to deliver.
Hello Jenny Cooper. In May 2022 we had the excavation booked in and where heading to your property to build you a pool that would be long finished by now - However you stopped the construction in writing and told Blue Haven Pools to not build your pool as you were moving house and wanted to see if the pool could be transfered to the new owners of your home. We are still awaiting for you to either fulfill your contract or provide details of transfer. Its a very strange question to be here on a public forum. We have also tried to call you repeatly and again this morning but youre not answering the phone. When can we expect a call please?
This is not us, my name is Janine not Jenny & we only paid a deposit in February 2022 & told it would take at least 12 months due to the supply chain, which is understandable! It had not been approved by council at that stage. If you have the copy of us stopping construction, please provide? We are not moving house, we are just waiting for our pool to be constructed, Anyway we rang this week & a email had been sent from you, to the wrong address, we rang again today to have the email sent, please send the email, also maybe check if you have the right number as we have no missed calls! Hopefully this is just a big misunderstanding and we can all get on with the job :)
Hi I have a pool built by Blue Haven 23 years ago. It has a pebblecrete lining. which now has splotches of white caused by calcium in the concrete reacting with chlorine in the pool water. They are not harmful at all, but spoil the look. Do you know how I can remove these? Regards Ros

Where can I find a main drain replacement cover for my Blue Haven pool built in 1995-1996

We currently have an spa jet pressure issued and there could be a possible leak as bubbles are coming out of the pool return. What is the warranty on the pool pipes?
How do I drain my 1000ltr Tahoe spa?
DRAINING THE SPA Approximately every 12 weeks, or more frequently depending upon usage, you should completely drain your spa. About 1/3 of the water capacity should be drained off every month in addition to the above procedure to keep the water manageable. The frequency of complete drainage depends on a number of variables including the amount of use, attention paid to water quality, maintenance etc. You will know it is time for a change, when you cannot control foaming and/or you can no longer get th e normal feel or sparkle to the water even though the key water balance measurements are all within the proper parameters. (if fitted) Your spa has a recessed external drain valve, usually located on the front of the cabinet. This has been designed as the most practical and easiest way to empty your spa. Please note water does not pour out, it will be very slow, please do no be alarmed. 1. Isolate power at Circuit Breaker. 2. Remove centre cap on drain and 3. Turn the lock nut anti-clockwise and pull it out (half-way) and connect to a garden hose adaptor 4. Allow the water to drain from the spa. This would generally take 5-6 hours to drain, so it is a good idea to let it drain overnight. Drain water to a suitable location 5. Use a bucket and a sponge to remove any remaining water from seats / foot well of spa. 6. After draining the spa remember to turn the drain valve to the off position. Note: If draining for winter and the spa is going to be left empty for periods of time, loosen barrel unions to pump to remove all water from the plumbing system, and tighten once all the water is removed. Alternatively, you can purchase a V-Pump at any good Pool and Spa Maintenance Supplier.
Hi, is it a Common business practice to get a customer to sign a Excavation waiver, that states blue haven will have no responsibility of any damage to property during excavation?
Yes. It’s an industry wide requirement and not a ‘Blue Haven’ thing. Each pool will need to be excavated and access must be provided by the owner for the machinery. The access path given may suffer some mild or major damages depending on the quality of access and the workmanship of the existing path or driveway ect. During the excavation a bobcat is commonly used to run out soil from the backyard to the street where soil removal trucks may be waiting. This run out can happen over 150 times taking loads of soil from back to front yard. There is no builder who can take responsibility for normal impact of grass being churned, driveway damage, crushed retaining walls ect. Insurance will definitely cover any acts of negligence for example house damage. The normal run out consequences are not negligence and usually very minor if the access provided is good quality. You can help to minimize damage of new driveways by hiring rubber matting or use light weight mini machinery; but usually the cost of access restoration is still far cheaper than rubber Matting or mini machines.
You’re in good hands with Blue Haven Pools. All our operators are skilled and very careful. We’ve never had a negligence case and always take care of your property.
Thank you for that clarification
Hi,I purchased from blue haven my spa less than 5 yrs ago, it keeps saying error no flo & the pump to the filter is not working & smoke is coming out?? Is it still under warranty?
How much are those elephants that sit on the side of the pool and spray water in it ?
Do you install pool lights and a bit of maintenance around pool jets. If not any recommendations please
Yes I can do some jobs but not jets I need to have a look at the type of jets and what you needed
Hi Marlene, I don't work for Blue Haven Pools but I can definitely recommend talking to Lisa Chatto at their Warners Bay branch. She has excellent customer service and will definitely point you in the right direction!
How long is my blue haven pool guaranteed for? Especially the quartzon finish?
Hello Debby. Regardless of who buids your pool (blue haven or other builder) the warranty is the same due to the Home Building Act. Under the Home Building Act in NSW the warranty for structure is 6 years and the cosmetic warranty is 2 years. Pumps and filters and lights and accessories all have a manufacturers warranty which range from 12 months to 5 years. In regard to Quartzon this is 2 years as its a cosmetic finish. Quartzon is usually a pigmented interior which requires lots of extra attention with great water chemistry and wall brushing to avoid calcium build up.
Hi Debby, its probably too late but Blue Haven no nothing about honouring a warranty.
Hello there , I have a blue haven 4 -5 seAter spa ( unsure of its name ) and need to replace it’s cover . Any ideas what the hard spa cover dimensions would be so I can purchase a replacement? Many thanks , Jane
No Idea, but if you contact Richard M or Remonda at Blue Haven I know I feel sure they will be able to assist. I had probs but they have been able to rectify these they are helpful and I'm sure they could answer your questions.I'm just a mere consumer.
Hello you can email photos of your spa to promo@bluehaven.com.au and we can help identify which spa it may be. Also good to include the year of purchase and spa dimensions. You can purchase the cover directly from Blue Haven.
Looking to use Albion park for in ground concrete. Any advice?
I’m thinking of signing with the Warnersbay team.
Advice please?
Anybody signed with them...
Hi did you end up choosing to use blue haven Warner’s bay?
I am about to sign with Blue Haven Pools in Newcastle. Should I?
How exciting! Once you've decided on the design and cosmetic finishes you really only need to understand your specific site costs. These may be known or unknown at point of sale. They may be variable or fixed. Blue Haven Pools has been in operation since 1973. There is close to 300 concrete pools being built in the local area year after year.
No! under no circumstances contract this company. Their slick salesmen lie through their teeth, they have a reputation for increasing their price and not finishing on time. Or six months late or as in my case never starting.
Read the reviews there are stories of people with half finished pools. I suspect they live off the deposits. They have my deposit of $7500 and for six months I've seen no delivery of any items. No DA no scoping of the design no progress. I've cancelled their contract twice because I tried to get them to build on a big sloping block in Katoomba another property I have there. They are totally incompetent, their draftsman didn't even bother to come look at the site. I then asked them to move back to my original Sydney site as I heard of their super cheap special. They are unable to even remove the old spa on the site. To this point nobody has been to my property. And now I have a legal battle to recover my deposit
Stay away! be warned. Use anyone BUT Blue Haven.
Noooooooo , never
No. Absolutely not. Its taken Bluehaven 18 months to build my pool and its still incomplete. The construction is great but they are utterly useless in all the other facets of project management, communication and customer service.
Hell No!!!! It will be the worst mistake you ever make and you will spend the whole time dealing with unprofessional, incompetent people, who are money driven and have no concept of customer service or quality workmanship.

Did you end up building through them?? We are looking to go with them also...but after reading these comments I am unsure!!
no no no no no no
From all the negative reviews that I have seen about Blue Haven Pools I would definitely say No!!! Look for any other ethical pool company that you can trust.
Don't be stupid you will regret the day you put pen to paper doesn't matter how nice the salesman is that's why we signed up because of the sales man Biggest mistake in our like. Don't even ring them in case you get tempted
