Good afternoon. I have tried to phone you a number of times without success regarding the failed delivery of my package. Tracking number CODE011450689 I reside in a Retirement Village where all our packages are delivered to the Village Office - only open during business hours. Your driver attempted to deliver at 8.24am this morning Wednesday 11th which is out of hours. Could you please advise when my package will be delivered? Thank you.

Inquiry about tracking number CODE8007352 – Not received though marked delivered

Hello,

I ordered a package under the name “Yupapron,” but the reception told me they didn’t accept it because the name didn’t match their records.

The tracking shows the package was delivered on July 11th, but I wasn’t able to receive it. Could you please confirm what happened to the package?

For future deliveries, it would be very helpful if the package could be addressed to “Ren Kudo” instead. I’m sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Best regards, Ren Kudo

I'm sorry but I can't help you with this; like you, I'm just a poor, helpless customer dealing with this useless, opaque, disreputable organisation that refuses to engage with its customers. How they can stay in business is beyond my comprehension. They're certainly not who I would choose to use for deliveries.

Pay attention Amazon.

This is the second time I have ordered several bottles of whiskey from Amazon at a huge discount, and provided tracking which showed it was to be delivered by Codexpress, but was supposedly unable to be delivered and so was supposedly returned to Amazon. At the same time Amazon dispatched similar items via Australia Post (legends) who duly delivered said items without a problem. Here is the summary of the latest debacle: Tracking CODA7556489 Wednesday, 4 June 9:56 pm Package arrived at a carrier facility Kemps Creek, New South Wales AU 10:10 pm Package left the carrier facility Thursday, 5 June 11:00 am Undelivered, returned to origin.

This exact scenario also played out about a month ago. This is unacceptable. Amazon refunded our money without any explanation as to what happened to our order. Are the Codexpress employees breaking into the packages and drinking the contents, then saying the packages are lost?

I can't comment on what the delivery staff may be doing with the contents in your deliveries but, in Australia, proof of age must be provided to accept deliveries where the content is alcohol. The details of proof of age, are supposed to be recorded, or photographed, by the party delivering. Parcels containing alcohol cannot be left at unattended premises. Under the Freedom of Information Act you would be entitled to know who accepted delivery of your purchases.

Unfortunately the customer support staff at Amazon, are offshore, and while they are happy to provide the refunds, it does not help to break the cycle of bad service by the courier company.

Amazon do not get the feedback. The offshore call centres are not Amazon employees. The companies are contracted by Amazon to provide the service, at a pittance of the cost, to provide support in Australia. It is a bit of a churn and burn situation which disreputable courier companies take advantage of.

I suspect that it would be included in "shrinkage" under Amazon's insurance policy. That in itself is a problem as it raises insurance premiums, not just for Amazon, a huge company that can afford it, but for all retailers. It is a vicious cycle and none seems to care as their focus is siloed to their individual job rather than to the overall customer experience of the Amazon customer.

THIS IS WHERE IT IS AMAZON'S RESPONSIBILITY.

I don't know about you but I don't want a refund. I want the item I ordered, to be delivered, to my door, within the expected timeframe.

Amazon Australia appear to not care as they do not provide any mechanism to be alerted to the problem, which means CODExpress are not held accountable and therefore continue to accept payment for a courier service that is not always being provided.

You can do, as I have done, and email Mr Bezos, the owner of Amazon, directly at jeff@amazon.com.

Jeff Bezos has publicly detailed his vision for Amazon. It is his reputation and profit margin that is being tarnished by both CODExpress and the "hidden" staff at Amazon Australia, by behaviours that do not align with Mr Bezos' vision. He needs to know and, by making his email readily available, he wants to know.

Bad behaviour should not be rewarded! Interference with an Australian citizen's mail, which is what this is, is actually a federal offence. It also needs to be reported to the police. Successful prosecution can result in both hefty fines and prison time. Perhaps then, all misbehaving courier companies will actually appreciate how fortunate they are to have the employment, and behave appropriately and ethically.

Since I emailed Mr Bezos, my deliveries have arrived, to my front door, undamaged. The courier company still does not knock on the door, even though I am clearly at home, but I am at least receiving my purchases.

I would encourage all disgruntled customers, with Amazon's continued use of CODExpress when inappropriate delivery behaviour is experienced and reported, to email jeff@amazon.com. When Mr Bezos learns the volumes involved with poor customer service, and his profit margin, action will be taken.

We, the customers, don't seem to understand that we actually hold the power for change, not underperforming courier companies. They can be replaced but Mr Bezos cannot fix a problem he does not know about. He needs to know.

When submitting a complaint or reporting bad service I find it is always helpful to include photographic evidence. A picture paints a thousand words.

In your case, several laws have been broken. The infringements need to be reported.

I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for your awesome reply. I shall definitely contact Mr Bezos and let him know how CODExpress is letting his company down. Perhaps it is the fact that they know they will require a signature on delivery for alcohol that means they will never even attempt delivery at all. I live a 2 hour drive away from their location in Sydney, so perhaps they are saving themselves time. If no one is home, Australia Post can leave the alcohol at the local Post Office for pickup, but CODExpress can’t do that. We have received other Amazon items through them, which could be left at the front door. So I’m convinced they won’t deliver things requiring a signature or id. Why on earth would Amazon not send all such items via Australia Post? Anyway, thanks for your reply. I’m off to contact Jeff Bezos

If CODExpress cannot fulfill delivery requirements, ie signature/proof of age, then they should not be accepting the jobs. If they accept money for services not provided then it may even constitute fraud as they are gaining a financial advantage by deception.

I completely understand your situation.

I too live in a rural area, now. In my email to Mr Bezos I also explained that, in Australia, redirection, parcel lockers, and pick up points, is only guaranteed by AusPost and is purchased by the customer.

I suggested that, as Amazon customers already fill out "delivery instructions" in the account profile, a simple box being added to check where AusPost should be used for delivery, would be a simple fix.

Further, every non-delivery, incorrectly claimed as delivered etc by CODExpress, should be reported to the ACCC and consumer watchdog. I know it is inconvenient but I refuse to have CODExpress pockets filled with my hard earned dollars when they are not providing a paid for service.

Don't believe you need to settle for inferior service due to Amazon's free delivery for Prime subscribers. NOTHING IS FREE. We pay with our subscriptions and, sometimes by paying a higher price, for the convenience of delivery.

I also suggested to Mr Bezos that delivery is only convenient when purchases are actually delivered, securely and safely, within the published, and expected, timeframe.

Fingers crossed our emails to Mr Bezos will be read and risks mitigated.

I wish you luck with all future purchases.

Same thing happening with me. it was saying 'out for Delivery' and now it is showing delivery 'Cancelled' . No information on their website, if you call them it goes to their voice mail and never gives a call back. What a Company!!! I am surprised that Amazon use them as their Delivery partner. I stop buying from Amazon when I see a seller is using this Crap Company called CODEXPRESS.
