Terrible customer service, never follow up on the issue and unqualified technical support.

Log a complaint and be clear on the outcomes you require with your local state Consumer affairs / fair trading body against DELL's warranty commitemnts. DELL seem to move fairly quickly once they become involved. I had the run around for months with clueless bots and offshore support, basically lying to me regarding DELL's warranty obligations. I received my replacement today 4 months after the start of the ordeal! ... unfortunately they now appear to require return of the item they collected months ago ... and on it goes lol :)
jhones not happy

How do I fix it?
Hi rein man, how do I fix?
I was about to order a Dell AIO but very concerned after reading all the negative reviews on Dell products. Dont know what to buy now ( not Apple as I cant afford it).
I bought Dell for the same reason , cheaper but my youngest daughter who has a Mac ( so fast and no problems ) often helps me out with the issues with my dell , it just gets stuck and won’t open up or load , we both can’t believe how slow it is !! Usually once it opens up it is ok but the other night when I posted this I was nearly ready to throw it out the window . It just kept crashing , black screen , response time was agonizingly slow , I won’t buy another one
Would advise against buying anything Dell, Still waiting on missing parts on my new computer. No help from Dell at all, just give you the runaround. Its been nearly 6 weeks now and still Dell have not helped, Just wasted over $2000 on junk.
I am looking At Dell Xps13 but after looking the reviews on customer service it’s pulled me up quick. What changed with your customer service that would make me want to buy one.
Today, for the second time, Dell "updated" my computer and caused me to lose an hour's work. I don't want your updates and I don't want to lose my work so you can "advise" me about Dell products. I paid for my computer. It's mine. I don't want you taking it over and losing the work which I value. J. Greg Deane [email removed]
order number 875397109 refund stop shipment sr992711905 / 6984800-36280106 no refund yet and told on the 24/6/2019 where is my money?
The worst computer brand in the world. Customer service is terrible. I have bought 4 Dells in a row and not one of them have lasted over 6 weeks due to breaking for no reason. Terrible, don't buy one and I understand why they are rated only 1.4 stars out of 5.
Dell are scammers. No customer service, warranty is a joke, and they have had at least two scamming sites on google since 2015. They have full knowledge of this, and run the sites.
I have a Dell Laptop Inspiron 5575 with Windows 10 and AMD Ryzen 7 2700U with Radeon Vega Mobile GFX. My problem is the sound is crackly when watching Youtube and emedded videos in web sites cause the screen to go black for a couple of seconds. I have tried to get rid of the dreaded Smartbyte with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Get yourself another laptop, make sure it’s not a Dell. Dell have a one star rating for many various reasons. My laptop broke while still under warranty, when I arranged to have it repaired they wanted $65 to have it picked up and delivered, but instead took over $2000 from my account. They refused to investigate or offer any refund, or want anything to do with my repair. Police are investigating.
7 years ago I purchased a Vostra 17" laptop. I had a problem from the start. In those days the service was good and I had to send my laptop to a nearby service centre because it was overheating and they replaced the fan. Then I had another problem where the laptop would stop, lock me out, and then close down. It was at the service centre twice but they could not find the problem. This continued on and off for three years. I had the motherboard replaced. Then I read about a bad batch of motherboards and when the laptop did this just out of the 3 year warranty, after some discussion they did send me another motherboard (different batch) but I had to have it installed myself. After the new motherboard was installed the problem ceased. My battery packed up after three years and the hard drive had to be replaced. Now the computer is falling to bits as the monitor screen has come apart from the back and the plastic around the monitor is lose and bulging (I have it held together with a peg). I was thinking of purchasing a new Dell machine as I did have excellent service from them seven years ago but after reading all the comments will not purchase Dell. Also, after one of the times I had problems and had to give their technician access to my computer, the next day I received a scam phone call and the caller had all my details. I blamed Dell for that.
Where is my money?
does the aw988 headset work with the Alienware 17?

Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 13 700 2 in 1. Been couple of months, I use it quite regularly but just for basic stuff. Something I don't understand is, why the hell it keeps running on highest frequency, fan runs insanely, bottom becomes so hot that I can't even keep in in my lap. At times I have noticed the same with just task manager open. Any suggestions?
How long do Dell support take to reply to email messages? I received a faulty UP2718K monitor and wanted to know how long it would take for Dell to replace the faulty product.
Hi ben my oc had a software oroblem when it arrived and over about 3 days i worked with support trying various things i had much patience as i was keen to work with win 10 sekf diagnostics/repair all new to me about the 4th day they forwarded me a new win 10 usb which took about a week and we went through sanpme thing again no result on a thursday 2nd week i requested/demanded a new pc they( malaysia i think) said they woukd request from australia i was in a hurry so how about phoning-sirry we can only contact by email? They gave the goahead 1 week later but would not send it out until they had received my unit the whole exercise took 4 weeks recently the motherboard went and that took 3 weeks and 3 days support try hard but there seems to be a huge gap or delay in malaysia to aussie communication of course you cannot phone dell yourself only sales or support impossible trying to access someone higher up is impossible the lical repairer agreed and said if you pay for extra warranty the system is handled mire efficiently in sustralia i have bought onky dell since 1997 but this is the last prtime
Dell Australia seems to be much worse in its quality control and tech support than Dell is in other countries such as USA. I have read reviews from americans about good Dell laptops and the help they get when problems arise and was not sure if this info should affect how I look at Dell in Australia. I would rather have someone I can rely upon if my newly bought laptop decided to break down. Is it worth the risk? Is Dell Australia really as bad as the reviews here say it is?
I agree with what I have read from other users about their experience with Dell support in Australia. Dell sent out someone to change my hard drive (after sending the laptop back to them without resolving the issue) although it did not fix the problem with the touch pad which is probably related to a manufacturing fault as opposed to a hardware fault. Admittedly, when I wrote my review I was feeling cranky about my non-working touchpad. Also I had a previous Dell laptop with a non-functioning keyboard. Otherwise the laptop itself works fine and has lasted a year so far, battery is good etc. I possibly just got unlucky with my touchpad and if they had bothered to fix it - instead of insisting that a new hard drive was all that was needed - I would have been happy.
That was my recent (over the last 5 months) experience with Dell. I'd love to hear if others have similar/worse/better experience from/than mine. To be hones, I'm hoping to find out if my expectation to have faulty parts of a brand new computer replaced with another brand new parts (as opposed to refurbished parts which had various other faults despite repeated replacements and Dell's refusal to replace it with brand new parts) is too much to ask for. Do others have similar treatments/response by Dell or other computer desktop/laptop manufacturers/sellers? Is this common?
Hi there, I'd steer clear of Dell, as their customer service (amount of waiting time for a solution and the waiting time for an inevitable refund) is horrendous. Worst ive ever experiences for online shopping.. over 15 years, its the worse by far. We finally got our refund, around 3+ weeks later. If you are going to buy a Dell product, steer clear of their website, and buy from a retailer, e.g. JBhifi. We bought from there, and after we found the product was faulty (power light didn't work properly) we got an immediate refund, and got a HP instead. No problems with the HP. Im sure there are good Dell products, its just that their customer service/support in Australia is really bad, from out once and only experience. Dell.. Never again!!!
A positive note to end my bad experience with Dell. Dell basically refused to talk to me once it refused my request to have faulty motherboard replaced with new parts and not with refurbished parts, saying they had referred the matter to their legal department. So I put in a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading and it managed to secure a refund from Dell for me. Unfortunately this outcome was only possible because the Office of Fair Trading stepped in to intervene for me and not because Dell finally decided to do the right thing by its customer. Anyway thank you Office of Fair Trading!
I faced the same issue as PenguinDownUnder. Dell XPS 15 2015. The laptop stopped booting up in 6 days. They sent a technician to put another refurbished motherboard, which had already been corroded. When I asked why, I was told it's their policy. That motherboard also stopped working altogether in another 7 days. I asked for a full refund and Dell refused. I filed a complaint with Office of Fair Trading and then only I received a full-refund. Dell is not respecting the local laws as well. They have lost a customer forever. I'm not recommending Dell to anybody out there.
My experience has also been very bad, despite purchasing a premium Alienware laptop with a promise of next day service SLA. I'm STILL trying to resolve an issue. Next stop for me: Office of Fair Trading. Very disappointing. I would urge anyone who values their time to steer clear of Dell.
I must be the lucky one who had no problems at all! 3 days delivery and customer services tried her best to help me out. Never had any issues at all! Don't forget that a lot of happy customers don't care to post good reviews as compared if someone had an issue - u post complaints straight away online...
Dell Australia warranty is useless. They actually make their decisions out of Malaysia. No physical examination of the product. They can and will refuse warranty at a whim. Try researching the problems with XPS 13 hinge faults (and earlier whine problems). Quality control is an increasing problem for them. Not so bad a problem perhaps if you're a US customer, but if you're in Australia you've got Buckleys.
