Can you provide a new modem, im not sure if mine is locked to my current provider (optus)
No problems churned in 48 hrs. FTTP NBN awesome speeds no issue as of yet.
RE exetel NBN VOIP for landline: I'd be very grateful to know what people's experiences re reliability are , please? Can only get it if I waive my rights under the “The Customer Service Guarantee under ”Telecommunications Act (mostly re compensation for unreliability), so am wary. Thanks in advance
I’m considering getting Exetel for my new place (I live alone) and need something that’s budget friendly but reviews are concerning. Is the net quality so bad? I understand customer service is poor...
Just get AussieBroadband .. easy to deal with and have brilliant Australian call centres to answer you calls very quickly.. minutes and not hours. The set up is easy and they keep you up to date ever step of the way... THE BEST bar known.
Some 3 weeks ago I contacted exetel regarding changing to NBN through exetel, I supplied all my details including visa card details and they said a modem would arrive in the next few days and that the connection to NBN might take up to 3 weeks, so far nothing!! I have not received anything at all from exetel, no modem , not even an online message confirming my account? It would be great to hear something from exetel to keep me informed of progress, if any.

So still I have not heard from exetel, I'm beginning to think maybe I made a mistake choosing exetel, very slow response time
Hi john, Can i ask how it turned out? I'm thnking of giving them a go.
I eventually got through to them only to discover that my order had not been processed, it got missed somehow, but once they got my message things happened very quickly and it is all up and running now. So far so good.
I switched over to exetel NBN in mid December 2018 and requested my landline phone to be ported... I have now been waiting 3 months (numerous calls made to exetel activation team) ... but still no landline ported ... anyone else experienced this problem with Exetel.. ?
I am having a similar problem - broadband connected and working fine but still on Exetel landline (Optus is the network provider) waiting to be ported to Exetel VOIP
I have been waiting 3 months now. Have lodged complaint with telecommunications industry ombudsman.. hope you have better luck than me at getting your landline up and running. !
When I spoke to Exetel about moving from ADSL2+ to NBN delivered via HFC I was told the home phone would be disconnected for 10-15 business days before the VoIP service was active. Can I clarify if people in this thread are finding this to be the case, or are your existing Exetel landline services still working over copper while waiting for the port?
In my case the landline stopped working over copper wire.. I think this is standard procedure... it took exetel 3 months and my complaint to telecommunications industry ombudsmen to get it resolved... i have no complaints with their data service, but beware you may be in for a long wait for voip porting to your landline.. other issue to be aware of is they will continue to charge you for your adsl service (as well as nbn) until phone is ported... they will refund you when phone porting is completed, i kicked up a stink over this and they stopped charging me after a month and refunded me.. the double dip was adding insult to injury.. good luck.
Hi I have been waiting for my order to be connected for more than 1 months, the last reply I got was arrange my phone line to be transferred to the new Exetel Home Phone (VoIP) service which was happened on 30/12/2018. I have received NBN modem, but no sure whether my service is active or not as no one notified my. Please help! I have been waiting ....

The NBN people have to come in to activate the line, unless somebody did it before you. Just plug the modem in and observe the light on the modem. You will see power on, but if the internet light and wi fi is blank they did nothing. Usually they inform you what date they will activate your line. It may take xxx months, my was never installed after 4 months and they threatening me that they will cut of my internet and penalize me for late payment for internet I never had. I will make them famous with current affairs. Cheers
