Express can walk away freely now because they made Express Business Group liquidated by emptying their bank account. Reece took the money by pretending as Express' consultant and transfer the money to his phoenix companies. The report can be obtained from ASIC website. He transferred $285,551 to Reece Matthew Arcon Investment trust on 1st July 2016, transferred $1,154,383.57 on 30th June 2016 and $1,788,272.77 on 30th June 2017, transferred $157,272.77 to R&R Arcon Pty Ltd on 30th June 2016 and $662,925.23 on 30th June 2017. Breach of contract Go into your contract and look under “definitions” of who your Head Franchisor is. Most likely it will be Express Business Group Australia, which is in liquidation. If your Head Franchisor is in liquidation ( ASIC Connect search ) and the liquidator haven't contacted you, that means the liquidator can’t see your contract. He can’t see your contract because your contract got either sold or transferred just before they went into liquidation.

So who bought your contract or got transferred to?

Express Worldwide, it wasn’t just a name change.

If you haven’t received a written notification from either your Franchisor in your contract, Express Worldwide or Express WW about the sale or transfer of your contract, that means a notification of any assignment is required by clause 13.3 of your Franchise Agreement, as is the provision of a disclosure document by clause 9 of the Franchising Code of Conduct where there has been a permitted assignment or transfer.

That means you don’t have to pay franchise fees anymore, you don’t have to pay termination fees and you can keep your clients, you are free.

Express Worldwide can’t bring you to court, because they never notified you that they are your new Head Franschisor. The ASIC initiated a strike-off action against Express Worlwide, which means Express Worldwide will be a deregistered company from the 10th of June, unless they rectify the issue/s with the ASIC before, or more likely there will be another “ Name Change “.

And always remember “ Express “ is a brand name, not a business name. You have the right to know who you are exactly talking to while communicating with” them” and none of their business names will have any business relationships within in your contract.

Hi everyone I am currently in the process of suing these people. As said before, I have got solid evidences against them. I have been trying to get people together so we could split up legal fees. Guys, we have to understand, just by writing bad reviews on internet won’t help anyone. I have got so many messages from people who are throwing their money in Express and are just being sucked up dry.

Hi Crissantein, We are also going through this. Reece Arcon/kirralee gurkin and the rest of their partners are scam artists. They are fraudsters. You can add Leenah Beenah pty ltd to their list of fake companies. Thats gone into liquidation as well. We should all band together and take them to court.

You better start your own book keeping business. Because when you joined Express they will tell you to knock the door, advertise in gumtree, service seeking, joining BNI, etc (that's their system). Basically you pay for your own advertising. You need to pay $198 per week franchise fee = $10,296 a year and pay for your own advertising.

Express never promise any lead, so why you want to join Express? You better open your own business.

They provided tools (training that said you need to do hard advertising by yourself and the tools that you can purchase by yourself such as laptop, 1 pack of business card, book keeping course, 1 pack of flyers, etc). Once you run out of flyers, business cards or uniforms you need to purchase them with your own money even though you have paid $198 per week franchisee fee. Also there is a personalised website. However why bother to use their website if you can create your own website free (try wix.com).

However, the services that have been provided from the franchises were good. The franchises are hardworking individuals that will ensure they can provide good services. The issue is with Express business structure not with the franchises' services.

Express opened offices all over Australia (WA, NSW, VIC) and suddenly after 4 - 5 months they closed down those offices and only has a head office at QLD and a customer service team in SA.

Complete scam - better of starting on your own without the Express Model - I should realised something was up when the Public Indemnity company they referred me to was charging 40% more than everyone else. Then the training was poor, offering me no more than I could have got for free from Xero, MYOB or Quickbooks. The CRM system is usless for a bookkepper although they want you to keep using it. The invoice for the Franchise fee was not broken into sections so that you could claim depreciation etc...the signwriting on the Vehicle which you have to pay for looks amateurish and predominately advertises their business, not yours. I was spending $200 a month on Google advertising and was finishing higher on the searches than the entire Express Group - that will tell you how little they are spending on promoting your business. Avoid at all costs

I am still in dispute, I have contacted ACCC and they say it is illegal for them to advertise you can be earning eg 3000 plus a week and not back it up. Hi Master Franchisees Please be made aware that your role is to support franchisees and recruit new franchisees in your territory area. It seems in some instances this has not happened and our franchisees have not felt supported. If this is you that is why payments have stopped. For a lot of Masters we have paid them money when services have not been completed. As a business this is not helpful to anyone except the person receiving money for no work provided. As a tip, please record all the efforts that you have made to contact Kiralee with no success and the ignored emails from Express Business. You might need to find a franchisee lawyer that could offer a free initial consultation or a fixed fee lawyer.

Hi All I think you need to understand that as a master franchisee, it is a requirement under your franchise agreement to recruit and support franchisees . This is how your business makes revenue. You are reading one small section of your franchise agreement whereby its states we will pay you X for X amount of time. Please read all the conditions associated with that money. If you haven't sold anything under your territory you haven't reached your quota. Please read your agreements and your operations manual for more clarity. We have a sales manager that can provide you with training on how to recruit franchisees. This will create revenue for your business. If you would like to discuss further then contact the GM

You will not be paid. Your contract is worthless . Express have no intentions of paying anyone even if they had the funds which clearly they don't. Any person who is still paying into express are exactly the type of people they Feed Off. Stop paying NOW and see if they will resolve any of your issues. The administrators are pursuing them for debts of over $50,000 not just a small sum in anyones opinion.

Express did not fulfill their responsibilities. Now they are looking for 1 million reasons for not paying. Firstly they said no disclosure docs or not supporting franchisee. Once Worried Helen said he/she has done those then Express found another reason again. There is no quota to find franchisee according to the contract. All franchisee prospects have been forwarded to Express but Express could not convert them to be franchisees

Well, to start with they had a bit of a problem paying the guarantee. Mainly because the RMF’s and the SMF’s didn’t do any work at all. Some did so kudos for them. So when the company stoped paying the lazy people, they ( the lazy ones) started posting crap online. Instead of working and doing something productive they started damaging The company name so now they can’t get payed because they ruined their own company.. IDIOTS..

Me and a few other express franchisees had this understanding but no. They really tell you a whole lot of things when buying the franchise. Eg making over 3k a week like they advertise. Truth is once your locked in they don't even ask how or why your doing so bad.

They ask a fee if you try and leave early, it's a low cost franchise say $8k compared to $35k to say $75k, you learn how to run a complete successful business, leads, service, full training in operations, invoicing etc etc,! Then once you learn everything there has to be some loyalty for such a low cost, of course once you learn this and try to leave after 6 months there will be a penalty. As the group gets bigger there will always be a synergy between 35 services giving you more leads just through referrals! You can't get something for nothing, it's a great business

This is what Express should tell you. It costs aprroximatley $51,000 as a buisness over 5 years and also a start up fee of Approximately $5000 to 15000. You do pay for Leeds it's called "royalties " and you are lucky to get one Leeds per two weeks or even a month, you also pay a weekly fee of over $198.

Hey mate, I'm not a hundred percent on NZ, as it is a separate business to AUS. But I know they have a good operation over there with good reports. I believe there's a new guy heading up Heat Pump and Air Con so probably a great opportunity to get in! Maybe contact them and see if they can put you in touch with someone direct and I'm sure they'll gladly help with some local info/referrals. Jump on the website and get onto the NZ head office!

NZ (Test & Tag) Masters (and other services) are committed to covering google adwords costs (even though the low-cost franchising model is geared towards prospecting). We are committed to growing the business. Every franchisee is empowered to create National work for the benefit of all other franchisees in that service and beyond. Express NZ is on fire and booming. One of my Franchisees earned 7K in his first month followed by 15K in the second month, mostly based on his own efforts after a fast track start. That is what the low-cost franchising model provides, the chance to run your own business with a proven system. A personalised website alone with SEO if worth more than the entire franchise cost. Express Australia can be as successful as Express NZ if the same processes are followed, IMHO.

The idea of getting leads is to then give them great service, learn the followup techniques, to gain repeat business, then ask for referrals.You get leads, but if you expect 6-10 leads a week then it shows you don't follow the system to keep clients. Hi Nick Express doesn't offer a risk free business and I'm unaware of anyone that does. There will always be many conditions and provisions around following the system. The success of a franchisee will always be reliant on the franchisee putting in the effort.

There have been instances where Express has gone well beyond reasonable support providing many hours of and hands on support (the franchisee also received over 650 qualified leads for the year) only to have the franchisee decide they didn't want to run the business anymore

Goodwill in a business is determined by the effort you put in, how much the business is worth by the revenue you have generated. You receive a whole lot of tangible components in Brand New machines or hardware, components, you can't expect Express to refund you the full price on now second hand goods, no other company does that or would even give you some value back! Please learn again how to run a successful business, it takes effort and determination which gives you great rewards!

I was promised by express that if I am not happy for whatever reason, they would buy the business back after a year, unfortunately, they didn't. I am now stuck with no leads, no work and weekly franchise fees for nothing in return. They will only be nice till you sign the franchise agreement. After that its your baby. They will not except any responsibility for your business failure though you may have tried hard.

Almost no leads, don't trust Express, big norhing, in 2 months I've been begging for leads from Express and got just one or less in a week! All my jobs comes from HiPages, oneflare, seek service and others, nobody needs Express, DON'T do it!!!!

Hi i ran a Express business test & tag in Perth Australia. I received roughly 10 leads a week in my area. which with Express training i converted on at least 8 a week. I found that it was the best decision of my life. My other 2 friends are part of the business another one in Test and Tag and another in Lawn mowing. The lawn mowing business received roughly 20 leads a week and he converted on about 80% i hope that helps. P.S both have strong and successful business

Yeah I've had 2 leads from Express in the last 6 months. They sold me a franchise in a part of Australia where they have done no advertising at all even when they said they would. I'm on my own when it comes to anyone in my region knowing about Express as a service. No wonder they give me no leads.

Did anyone notice that only person who made positive comments about receiving leads from Express is Adam Murphy who is director of Express's UK division.

All Express Franchises are a sellable asset. You can sell your business at any time during the term of your agreement. Express allows you to sell your business for a fixed price at your valuation . This can be worked out by annual turn over etc. Contact your local office to fill out the sales forms as the team can assist in finding a buyer. You will need to speak with the Franchise Development Department to assist in this area.

I know they will help you sell it, but no franchise out there would ever refund back a business!

You buy any business anywhere, you can't go to Coffee Club or McDonalds and go sorry changed my mind didn't realise I am running a business its not a job, give me my money back. Really it doesn't work like that. Follow the system work hard go above and beyond you will succeed. The training will show you how to setup and operate. there is loads of support and training, how to get leads and how to keep customers.
