How to set up the internet? Can you explain ot from step 1 to the end
My home network suddenly stopped working and my computer showed no internet connection. Then I upgraded the network package and it also showed that I could not connect to the router.can someone help me?
My Chromecast cannot connect to the gigafy wifi. Is there any easy troubleshooting steps I can take to try and fix this?
Can someone please tell me why my gigabyte Wi-Fi account doesn’t show as available for connection to allow me to to connect to Netflix etc on my tv
What do I do when the usr isn’t glowing and the ethernet cable is plugged in?
Hi Kent,
Normally means there's an issue with the cable into the room (the other end isn't connected to our Power over Ethernet switch) OR the router itself has died. Make sure that firstly the internet connection is coming into the router on ether1 and next feel free to message our team on live chat or call through and we can arrange a fix for you ASAP.

How do u reboot your gigafy system
Hi Tyrone,
You can reboot the router using one of the following methods:
Mikrotik router:
Simply disconnect the ethernet cable connected to the number 1 port on the router. Wait 5 to 10 seconds and then reconnect.
TP Link router:
Please disconnect the power cable from the wall, wait 5 to 10 seconds and reconnect.
If you have any further questions or concerns you can reply to this or call our support team on 1300 444 239.

Hi, I've got Gigafy via my apartment building and it's normally fine but right now neither TV in the lounge or bedroom can see the network, even though my mobile phone is currently connected to it without issue. How do I fix this?
This happened to me today. Gigafy were unable to see an issue. I had to revert the tv the initial settings and start from scratch. Promised a return call which I did not receive. Not happy with the connection and drop outs either
Hi Robz,
I believe the issue you may be having on the TV's specifically is due to the fact that most TV's are only able to connect to a 2G network (the older form of wifi). All modern routers are now called dual band models which means they have both a 5Ghz connection (modern connection) and a 2G channel for any older devices which are unable to connect to the main 5G connection.
Unfortunately this is a technical limitation which we are unable to overcome in units as the main issues with 2G is that it suffers severely from interference caused by other networks nearby. 5G wifi has resolved this issue and that is why we have moved over to 5G.
In terms of a solution for you, I advise purchasing either a Google Chromecast, Amazon Firestick or a similar casting device which come with a 5G wireless connection as these are far cheaper than upgrading the TV. Alternatively, if the TV has an ethernet port, you could cable it directly to the router using the ports in the wall (if they are in your apartment).
If you have any other questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me on 1300 444 239.

I have GIGAFY and a serious problem. Netflix on TV in the lounge room. Netflix on TV in the bedroom. Netflix is working well on the TV in the lounge room but a serious problem occurs on TV in the bedroom. I periodically get requests to upgrade my email and when this occurs (as advised by GIGAFY) I do nothing until finally Netflix resumes as normal. Sometimes this takes 1 week or up to 2 weeks. GIGAFY staff advised by phone it is a scam. I now think I should drop GIGAFY and get another service provider. I really have been patient for too long. Can you assist.
Hi Colleen, I have just found your account and I believe this issue may have been resolved with one of my colleagues. If you are still having any issues please give me a call on 1300 444 239 and I am happy to assist you further.
Kind regards,

Thanks for the contact, the original guy who set it up returned & I passed on GIGAFY info. All fixed.
hey guys,
I am using gigafy nbn service for 2 months now, which was pre-set in my apartment. However I can not receive the signal from distant rooms. Can I connect another router to gigafy router in order to get the wi fi signal stronger? with both 2.4ghz and 5ghz wi-fi signals if it's possible. cheers
Hi Barlas,
In answer to your question - yes it is possible and allowed to connect your own wireless router behind (and you can even disable the wireless on the Gigafy supplied router via the customer account portal, so it doesn't interfere with your own) - alternatively if you raise a ticket from your account portal we could investigate if the router in your apartment might need to be replaced - just need to know where you are/how old the device is etc.

Hi I have just moved into a brand new complex (curve Sunshine Coast QLD and signed up for Gigafy. Speed is awesome but I’m having trouble connecting to certain sites like Apple Music and Telstra email won’t send messages but will receive them. So far that is all I have noticed but I’m sure there will be other similar errors. Is this a setting on the gigafy router ? Or else how can it be rectified please ?
Hi Trent,
The Telstra mail one is pretty straightforward - generally a provider (in this case Telstra) will accept outbound email being sent inside of their network, however if you’re connecting and trying to send from another network you need to make sure you’re using outbound authentication (this essentially lets Telstra mail servers know “hey I’m one of your email customers please let me send through you”). There are instructions on how to set this up here - but it may vary depending on if you have a bigpond address or other - https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/email/set-up/imap-pop-and-smtp-information-for-manual-email-set-up
As for the Apple Music - I’m not aware of anything specific that would prevent this from any location (in fact I’m on the Gigafy network for home use and use Apple Music) but if you could raise a ticket with us from your account and include a screenshot of what you’re seeing when it’s erroring or not connecting - I can investigate further.

How do I change the password that comes with my modem. Bitdefender keeps telling me it is very weak. I run Win10m. Gary
Hi There,
If you login to your user portal at https://account.gigafy.com.au you can update the wireless network name and password from under the My Router -> Wireless Security section.

Are you able to get Foxtel with gigafy
I use Foxtel Now which offers online streaming instead of a set-top box. This is in addition to my Netflix, Stan, Amazon Prime and Bigpond Movies services (yes, I have a problem haha). All run on my Gigafy network and stream without any issues, even while other devices are connected and in use such as my laptop/phone.
Hello
I moved into the myport/McCarthy Apartments in Annandale NSW.
I was given the user ID/PW and had been using it for about two weeks. I recharged today and now it does not work at all. It shows connected, but my computer remains offline and not connecting.
