how do you brighten the dsiplay screen when you have the headlights on -necessary when it is raining etc
Rikki, I only placed a comment in Product Review to comment on the Isuzu I purchased.
I cannot answer your question but I know where you are coming from.
That is one draw back now that you mention it.
I would check with Isuzu as I will next service.
I have a new mux and I was excited to have the dvd player in the back. the dealer said we should upgrade the entertainment system because the isuzu is a bit basic... now I seem to not be able to get my dvd player to work
Hi Kim T,
Sorry I have no answers for you on this one. The model that we purchased does not have a DVD player installed.
I do note while replying to you that there is a comment , quote "LISTING MONITORED by Isuzu representatives"
I would be giving them another call.
When trying to unlock our MUX 2015 model a continuous beeeeepp occurs and the car won't unlock. Try with the physical key and the alarm goes off?? Can someone help?
Bumper, never come across that problem with my 2015 MUX. Have you changed the batteries in the key fob. That’s the only thing I can think of that would lock you out of the vehicle. Try asking your dealer, however don’t let them charge you for simple information. Good luck: Toey
Yeah am ringing Monday rang Saturday but no one really available to give an answer
I have a 2015 MUX have been happy with it until recent. It has only done 118 thousand kM 15 months
out of warranty. Over time had a few small issues. 3 months ago it developed gases from the head into the cooling system witch blocked the radiator and had to be replaced as it was not able to clear. ISIZU After 3 months replaced the head and gasket. but i am $ 1300.00 out of pocket for the radiator. The radiator issue was caused by gases going into the cooling system.
After 3 months with out a vehicle after picking it up i noticed the brake peddle going to the floor slowly
booked in this week to dealer $250.00 thank you just to analyse the the problem where a independent
machinic suggest it be a master cylinder no charge. All services have done by Isuzu dealership
Steve, not sure what to say pal. I have a 2015 mux with 150k on the clock, cost me $600 today to get it serviced. Had a problem with the sd card 21 days out of warranty and Isuzu would not look at it. I have not heard of any issues you have gone through, so really unable to give you advice., if you are unhappy with it and you can afford it, may be off load it by private sale or trade in. It’s your choice pal. Cheers Toey
Yea i think its a lemom intended to up date by the time i get it sorted i might get 500k out of it . As i spend a lot of time outback NSW not confident
Hi I'm considering buying the cheapest MU-X LS-M model, either new or up to 6 yo (likely 3-5 yo if can find one at right price). Anybody with a base model MU-X LS-M who can give review on it please? Models from 2015-21 of the most interest. All but 2 reviews here are for the much more expensive models.
The only reviews (2) here for the LS-M aren't great so hoping for more reviews on it.
Also general Isuzu service, are they good to deal with? Is there availability of cheaper non dealer parts ... or is this not possible with modern cars?
I have a 13 yo car and my next purchase will be my first new/ish one, to tow a caravan of a maximum of 15 feet.
I have a 2015 MUX thought i purchased in 2017 with low K's on the clock. its top of the range, however as far as changes from bottom of range to top of range, its mostly cosmetic and internal extras that you get. Motor wise i believe that they are all the same. Mine is Auto and they are very good to drive. Service prices do vary and going through a dealer will mean you pay a higher service price than going to a qualified mechanic of your choice and one who you can trust. New car dealerships charge you extra so you can pay for their flash showrooms. I always went through Ultra Tune because I knew the owner and their service price was cheaper in some cases my over $100.00. This is my first diesel car and fuel economy is great, I can get way over 600Klm's out of a full tank on a long trip. Good Luck: Toey
Hi Toey, thanks for the reply. What model variant do you have? Im not clear on that... the base model s-m? Do you have to only buy parts from a dealer with newer cars? I don't understand what you mean by changes from bottom to top of range mostly cosmetic? And internal extras?
To you and anybody else- Also I've read the MU-X have the same engine as the Dmax which many say are terrible so is it smart to trust another vehicle with Isuzu?
Diesel or petrol better for towing and touring? Thanks.
Not sure who you have been listening to, but the 4jj1 engine in the MUX and DMax are regarded as probably the most reliable motor in that market segment. That engine is also found in quite a few of their light commercial vehicles and has an industry B10 rating, which means that less than 10% of them will need mechanical intervention in less than 500,000km. I am amazed that "many say it is terrible". Perhaps you should ask a few mechanics you trust for their opinion. And diesel is usually much preferred over petrol for towing, due to the amount of torque they develop at low revs.
2015 mux lst Izuzu navigation has failed I am getting this faults on the screen. ,, Set oy74621a application b .031 Next one is SNO 00003916 application. N 016. Code 13702311. Then below it says E-code. Bl-SD -10. I have no navigation. No radio no DVD but reverse works for a while then goes off. Anyone know what’s wrong help please. I have removed SD card then put back in but still the same HELP please
I had the same problem in March 2020 with a few different codes on the screen to yours, however the N016 code came up on mine. I lost radio, phone, reverse cameras, DVD also. I googled this error code and it said the SD has failed. So went to my local Isuzu dealer and they were not a big help at all. Trying to get me to buy a complete new audio system for $1400. 00.
I ended up calling another Isuzu dealer in Newcastle NSW and over the phone they had the answer because they had come across this problem previously. A new SD card cost me $431 dollars from them and it fixed all of my problems. It took 10 days from them to get it in for me. Fitted in 5 mins and been working fine ever since. Call a dealer and give them all the codes on the screen, however the N016 code is the main one. Good luck: Toey
We have that code and thank you we will try to get a SD card ,,, thank you again
Where did you get your SD card from please the address
How do you remove SD card in 2018 Mu-x navigation system, so we can update the maps
Just below the screen in the centre of dashboard, you will find two small rubber type doors ( oblong) open the one on the far left by lifting the tab like opening a book. Don’t pull to hard otherwise the rubber hinge will break. Under that you will find a smaller similar tab to open. Behind this is where your sad card is. To remove it, use your little finger and push it in and as it’s spring loaded it will come out far enough for you to take hold of it. Don’t touch the metallic piece as this contains the map info. I have a 2015 Mux and a brand new updated card back in mid 2020 cost me $321 from an isuzu dealer. It had all the latest updates except for any roads / bridges under construction at the time. Good luck: Toey
Mine has a screw/Alan key holding a plastic cover over the SD card in place, I thought there might be a trick getting it out. I may have to take it back to Isuzu and get them to get it out for me. Thanks Kobe
How do you update your contacts? I thought it happened automatically. Is there a way to force the upload?
I really don't know. I've never been able to upload mine at all. Maybe a question for a dealership?
I assume you are talking about your contacts in your phone you want to send to the vehicle. Not entirely sure, may be upload like you did in the first place or delete existing from vehicle and then upload phone contents again. I have never uploaded mine since I have had my car.
My rear sensors have stopped beeping. I have sprayed them, externally, with WD40. I have a 2017 MUX
We have a 2013 black MUX paid $38,000 for it in 2017. Only has 95000 ks on it. We live in Qld and have paint protection on the vehicle. Bonnet and Roof dramatically faded, dull as. When we brought it we were told to only wash it with shampoo from the dealer which we did religiously. We never polished the car as we were told to wash it in the special shampoo. Dealer or paint protection say we have no claim thanks Joy
Never heard of this problem before. If you have followed all of the dealer and paint protection guide lines I feel they should cover you under a warranty. Is it parked under a tree where bird droppings fall on it cause this can damage paint. These days like in the past 10 years paint protection is not needed as the paint on vehicles has improved. I would seek advice from a motoring body and see if they can take up your case or fair trading because if your have paid for paint protection to be applied and your known at the dealer to only purchase the shampoo they recommend then you have a history of following their instructions. Good luck Toey
Hi guys. Had a flat battery today and called raa to come jump start. Now we can’t drive the car or lock it. It just continues to beep every few seconds. The radio also changes stations every 30 seconds. Any ideas?
This is beyond my knowledge. I would suggest you call the raa again and get them to come back out to check your car out or seek advice from your Isuzu dealer. Good luck Toey
Sometimes you can resolve this type of problem with a reset by disconnecting the battery. The radio is scanning and looking for stations as its settings were lost due to the flat battery. You can press the station buttons and re-save those radio stations you need to listen to.
Hi there! All of our saved radio stations are still there, it’s just changing between them all.
