When I attempt to download the cover backgrounds I get an error message saying that there ia problem with the internet or server connection: Http Code: 0x403. I am however connected to the internet and there does not appear to be other connection issues.

I have finished my book but when I go to upload it the software is asking for an .mbf file which I cannot find. Where is this file saved to please.

Wherever you asked it to be saved to I guess. When you are in your photobook, there is a command "finish" along the top menu. When you click on that, it should create the .mbf file for you and a pdf in the same area where your phonebook is. You check the pdf for formatting etc, then upload the .mbf. I haven't had your problem, but I've had a couple of others and always found Momento good to deal with on the phone. Give them a ring and they should be able to talk you through it.

I agree about phoning moments always helpful. Not having had that problem I should’nt make any suggestions that might make your problem worse

Hi Ethna.
The Master File (MBF) gets saved in the same location as your project file (MBK). Please do contact us if you can't find the file.

I have just about completed a photo book and now I cant open it up to continue - I am getting an error message "You can only run one copy of momento at a time" just like other people I dont have another open.. I too scared to follow the instructions in the "help' section in case I lose my book - has anyone else had this problem and solved it without losing all their work?

I haven't experienced your problem, so can't help you there, but I have found Momento to be be pretty helpful on the phone in the past.

Hi. For some reason the computer thinks that our software is still running. I assume by this message that you can't see a copy of the software already running? The simplest way to resolve this is to restart your computer.

Let me know how you go with this. I'll keep an eye out for your reply over the weekend.

I've just tried to download the Moment software to my Mac and it won't start up the programme because it seems to be searching for an old photo library on a long-gone external hard drive. I can't seem to change any settings and not sure why it's looking for that drive anyway... any solutions??

Hi Lee.

Can you please try this 1st:

1. In the finder's Go menu, select "Go to folder..."
2. copy this in to the dialog that appears: ~/Library/Preferences
3. this will open the preferences folder for your user account on your Mac. Scroll down until you see the file "Momento Preferences", then delete it
4. Try running the software again

Deleting this file won't cause any harm - our software will simply create a new one.

I have read some reviews that state the photos are dull and dark. I have had this trouble with other photo book companies too, which makes me nervous given the cost of the albums. I'd like to know how people fix this. I've heard that I can increase the brightness and saturation of the photos, but they are already bright and colourful on the screen and also when printed out at officeworks, so I do not want to brighten and saturate too much! Any suggestions?

Hi Kellie. Thanks for asking. The best option is to call and have a chat with our service team so they can understand the brightness of your monitor and lighting in the room you are designing in, and advise on the next best step. If you're a colour nerd, we also have ICC profiles you can download to softproof your images before adding them into the software. Hope that helps :) Libby

I'm running Mac Mojave 10.14.4. I manage to install create and order a photobook j ust recently, (thank you its great) but now the program won't even load. Is there a new release about to be released that is compatible with 10.14.4?

Hi. Apologies for the delayed reply.
There is a new version coming soon, but the current version should still work fine. You will see a message appear, but it shouldn't stop you from proceeding.
If this isn't the case, can you please tell me what happens when you run the software?

Hi there
I keep getting a run time error; problem saving error ‘application has unexpectedly shut down’ messages. This happens with all my photo books. I have a new computer now and was thinking that it would be fine but still keeps,happening and now my .mbk file I was working on has deleted itself after the last crash.
How can I fix this and have Momento run reliably on my pc?

I run other software packages that are much more complex and have no issues.
My computer is high spec and so the issue is with momento software not our computers.
For example I also use the “Australiaphotoshop” software (similar) and it is very stable using the same level of size and complexity.
What I do is every session is “ save as” and add a new rev number. Plus hit the save button every 5 minutes.
I realise you cannot push this software too hard with many clicks.

Can I use this software with a MAC or do I have to wait until the. next version is released?

Hi. We do have a Mac version of our software that will run on 10.5 to 10.13. If you're already on a pre-release of Apple's new Mohave MacOS, then you'll have to wait a few more weeks. We're in beta testing of our Mohave-compatible release now and hope to have it ready ASAP.

Our file saved as .mbk However Momento upload only wants a .mbf file. It is very frustratine anyone had the same problem ?

Hi. The MBK is your project file - it has all the info of your layouts, but it doesn't actually contain the photos. The MBF file is where the photos are bundled up in to a printable PDF for us. To create your MBF file, click on the Finish tab at the top of our software. Once you done the Finish process, the MBF file will be in the same folder as your MBK file. Please call us on 1300 799 764 if this doesn't make sense and you'd like someone to talk you through the process. Geoff

hello, i have an apple iMac computer . i am a novice but i like to print my books as holiday experiences as do many. can you please let me know if i will be able to use this program on my computer and also will it be easy enough for me to understand how to do it. im also reading a few negative reports about the quality , is this a true account of the program? thank you

HI Lady Daff, I also use a Mac. The software is user friendly, but probably not as easy as some. The quality is excellent, but you pay for it.

Hi Lady Daff, I cannot attest to using an IMac computer as I did not but I can advise you ( from a non-computer savvy type ), that the Momento system was very easy to use. I did not even need to involve my children for assistance and I am male !!. Once you download the photos into the Momento system, you then create a new Task - you can then allocate different page settings. You are then able to allocate different amounts of photos on a page as well from 1 to I think 10 but the more photos you put on a page the smaller they are obviously. You cna use Landscape and panorama photos and set them out how you wish. You are also able to then write notes on each page which I found helpful so as to indicate to the reader of my travel books, where we were at the time and what that represents. I can also point out that I have never read anywhere reports of poor quality from Momento and the two books I have just received are Fantastic - I am now awaiting two more to arrive shortly ( one a Japan trip and the other to Cambodia ). The backup support from Momento staff is fantastic and if you have an issue with anything you can ring them and they will guide you. If you want to spend the time and Yes the money, then I cannot recommend Momento more highly.
