Oscar Neo DA-1000 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: JU-OS-1000-UL-AU-BU and JU-OS-1000-UL-AU-WHDoes anybody know where to order a new drum cap for my Oscar neo DA1000? I can't find any supplier in Australia and the VITAL 4 life distributer seems not to operate any more ...thanks in advance
I got mine from here: external link specifically external link got a white one, even though my juicer had the cap in black
hi valentin do you have a link to the website that is in English?
Where can I purchase a replacement auger or it may be called screw and a tamper for a oscar neo DA 1000 kitchen juicer in Australia. Thanks
find it from a similar juicer (DA-1000), with a different name, if you can't find Oscar parts, I once bought the end cap from a german company bio something, different color, and a bit tighter, but it works
Hi, Having issues removing the entire juicing parts from body after juicing. the circular screw turns and the plastic clear sleeve (this is a horizontal Oscar) loosens but the central plastic auger is stuck and won't budge. It's happened twice and I've wriggled it and eventually come out but can't get it out this time
you could clean it as shown here: external link or use some vegetable oil
Absolutely delighted with the Oscar. (DA900) However, we have just trued to remove the juice from Raspberries and it seized up solid. Was VERY difficult to undo the take apart pieces. Any experiences with Raspberries would certainly be of interest. Otherwise, yes, Id certainly recommend this brand of juicer, it's been a gem and well worth anyone who is considering a GOOD cold pressed type juicer.
I have had my Oscar Neo for about 2 years now and love it, use it every day, but I find the open/close gets extremely stiff to turn. I have tried running a fine cloth between the two edges which does help to a degree but stiffens again after a couple of uses. Is there something that can be sprayed lightly between the two parts to keep it moving smoothly. Jo
You coud use vegetable oil, or use a screwdriver to disassemble it and clean it, put it back together. There's a video about this: external link
Hello. I just purchased the Oscar neo Juicer. I love it. Though once I attach the drum properly and close it , I find the drum slightly moves up and down while working. Is this normal? Thank you
yes, it moves circularly up and down a bit, think it depends on how perfect the auger is
Thank you!
hello just wondering what attachment i should use for trying extract juice from fresh ginger . the mincer or the juicer attachment. thank you
the machine is a oscar neo DA 1000
Hi Rob, Thank you for getting in touch and apologies for the delayed reply. Fresh ginger can be juiced with the juicing strainer. However it is probably best to use other produce aswell as the ginger to help yield the most out of it.
I hope that helps.
Kind regards,
Hayley
I need to buy another Brush to clean my machine. I had a pale sage green long handled brush. The small circular sieve part is needing cleaning in particular. I cannot find the source of my purchase originally. Think it was Northern Rivers NSW or Queensland. Thanks
Hi Mary, apologies for the delayed reply. The Oscar 1000 cleaning brush can be purchased on your website. external link Please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything else that I can help you with. Kind regards,
Hayley
Hi, I hope someone can advise please. When using my Oscar Neo DA-1000 i find the pulp is a-little wet after juicing beet root and carrots, therefore not producing as much juice considering i am using a-lot of vegetables. Thank you in advance.
you can adjust it to max (5), that's all you can do, for maximum juice from carrots and beets you'll need something like a Greenstar Pro, or Welles Press
Hi Linda P, thank you for getting in touch. The pulp should be coming out fairly dry. You might want to check that your strainer is free of any blockage and that there is no damage to any parts. These things could be causing the juicer from not functioning as good as it should. Alternatively you might like to upgrade your strainer and/or Auger as these parts can wear out over time. I hope that's helps. Kind regards, Hayley
Thank you for the suggestions
Hello, I recently got a new mincing strainer as my original one broke. But I can’t get the sorbet to push through the machine. I’m using frozen bananas and they just won’t go past the strainer. The banana just spins around the big end of the auger and doesn’t move along. I’m very disappointed as this is pretty much the only reason I bought the Oscar Neo. Any suggestions?
Hi there, hoping for some advice. The open/close lever on my juicer is stuck. Before that was really hard to open or close. What to do?
pouring some vegetable oil can help to make it easier to open/close, also you could clean it as shown in this video: external link and maybe also add a bit of oil
Thankyou! It's super clean but I'll watch the video. Thanks :)
Hi there my neo 1000 is turning pushing pulp right not left while juicing how do I change that? Thanks
Hi Althea, thank you for getting in touch. It sounds as though you have the juicer in reverse. Try pushing the power button the opposite way. If this does not work please get in touch with our support team at support@vitality4life.com Kind regards, Hayley
Hi. I am having trouble putting the drum on and taking it off. It's very tight. Requires a lot of effort. TIA.
Hi Jackie, thank you for getting in touch. The drum should not be difficult to attach and remove. Please send us an email to support@vitality4life.com so that we can further assist you. Kind regards, Hayley
hi, the motor on mine started making a squealing noise, about 10 min into juicing, is this something easy to fix ?
Hi Valentin, thank you very much for getting in touch. There are a number of things that this could be. Could you please email our support team? They will be more than happy to troubleshoot with you and solve your issues. Please email support@vitality4life.com Kind regards, Hayley
I did, I'm not sure you can help because I bought it in the UK and I'm in Moldova now. Anyway, seems that I've fixed it, I took off the plastic case from the motor, and it looks like juice went along the auger and got into the bearing, and some oil leaked a bit from the bearing, I cleaned it all, and put some Castor oil (from the pharmacy) overnight to get in the same way the juice got in, put it all back together really tight, and used it twice since then without issues
I have been happy with my Oscar Neo 1000 after having it for nearly 2 years. I use 5 times a week for celery juice only for myself. Lately the pulp has been backing up in the chute and the pulp that does come out is much wetter than 4 weeks ago. Nothing looks broken, but more pulp is getting into the juice and makes a mess to clean all the parts. Please help
Obviously it has to do with the produce that you put in it, it is likely not as fresh as before. You need to adjust the pulp knob to 1 right from the start to avoid the pulp baking up, sometimes you can remove it and put it back after. You can also use the pusher to pump the juice out, depends what you're juicing, you won't have this kind of problems with carrots or fresh hard apples.
use a strainer to strain your juice at the end.
Hi Cmarie, thank you very much for getting in touch. As suggested, try playing around with the pulp ejection nozzle. If this does not help, your strainer could be clogged with tiny micro fibres from the celery. We would suggest perhaps purchasing a replacement strainer to see if this solves the issue. The Oscar loves celery however the fibres can be troublesome. Make sure to scrub the strainer very well after each use. I hope that this helps. Please do not hesitate to get in touch at support@vitality4life.com for any further assistance. Kind regards, Hayley
Thank you very much. I tried everything I could think of. Finally I bought a very hard fiber brush for cleaning sink drains and used that on the strainer where the fine metal mesh is. I used hot water and detergent and it was a real fiddley job, but has helped a lot. I use this brush daily and also adjust the pulp nozzle. It also seems to help if the celery is not too wet, so I quickly drain on a tea towel after washing, and before juicing.
No problem at all! It often helps to juice produce straight of the fridge also, making sure that it is cold and firm. I hope that helps. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if we can be of any further assistance. Kind regards, Hayley
Hi There can I mince meat with this machine? Thanks
Hi Blair. It most certainly can 'mince' meat. It will not be like the mince you get from the butcher but using the 'mincing strainer' you can put anything almost in there and it will come out 'minced'. I use my Oscar all the time for mincing. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Kindest, Michelle | Vitality 4 Life
Thanks for that answer, I didn't know that but useful for the future :)
Thanks for the reply, I'll give this a go then! does anyone know of a sausage filling attachment that also maybe used with the Oscar?
Hi Blair, we don't have a sausage filling attachments but could be good to look at in the future. I would recommend using it only either for meat mincing OR veg and fruit juicing only and not cross contaminate the juicer parts. Regards Bec V4L
I have an Oscar DA1000 and can't find anywhere to purchase a new strainer (new or #2). I love the juicer but can't use it till I find a replacement strainer. ????
Hi Sue, the place to buy the strainer is Vitality4life but buy in bulk as they continually break. Hubby and I have been using the Oscar juicers for nearly 20 yrs but the model we bought a couple of years ago just kept breaking the strainer. I lost count how many strainers I bought! I would keep cutting the vegetables smaller and smaller but they kept breaking. So had to ditch the Oscar for another brand of juicer. Good luck :-))
Mine was the same brand as yours
I had the same issue is Jo S. but found that external link were very helpful. It is a fault with the machine but I have got a new clear plastic bit (whatever the drum thing is called), along with a new strainer, the new strainers are a bit sturdier but I am still yet to see that this will be the solution (and I don't want to jinx it), they really need to make the strainer with more metal parts to be sturdier, I live for my juices, so I don't like being without it- good luck!
Hello Sue please contact us at support@vitality4life.com sorry about the delay. We are happy to help you sort this issue out ASAP. We have discussed with the manufacturer regarding the feed back from our customers and are working to figure out a solution on this issue. Look forward to hearing from you. Regards Bec V4L
Is anyone having problems with Oscar Neo DA 1000 screens breaking with minimal use
Hello Brontie, we have been using the Oscars for nearly 20 yrs and had to finally give up on them. Too many strainers kept breaking. We do cut up the pieces small. Each time the strainer was replaced I’d cut the veggies even smaller but they kept breaking. Unfortunately not as good as they use to be.
I have the same issue. The strainers are not made strong enough, such a pity as I love the juicer, but I have had a lot of strainers replaced
Hi Sharon and Jo, we are really sorry to hear about these issues. We have contacted our manufacturer regarding the matter. It is really important to us to keep the standard of our products and we do need feedback weather it be positive or negative to keep that standard high. So please know we are listening and currently in the process of improving all the time. If you need to ask any questions or replace any parts please contact us at support@vitality4life.com Warm Regards Bec
I'm using mine since 2013, and haven't had this problem, but I take care to cut the produce into small pieces, and don't push too much into it
Why does my new Neo juicer get hot after making 2 celery juices?
Hi Cmarie, ok the engine getting warm is normal. However in the manual it says do not run the juicer for more than 30 minutes at a time. Can you clarify if you could be using it for over 30 mins? The engine has to work really hard pressing the vegetables there for it can get warm. But if its getting hot very quickly please contact us at support@vitality4life.com and we can sort it out for you. Have a great day V4L Team
I use it for about 15 minutes max juicing celery juice on number 5. I will observe over the next week and see how I go. Today I did only 1 celery juice and it was only warm and not hot.
Ok Cmarie, thank you for letting us know please keep us posted Vitality4Life.
How can I clean my Oscar from residuals after pressing Kukurmas ?
Hi Jorra, do you mean Turmeric? Curcumin? Yes it really does stain, you can get most of the colour off but if you juice regularly it might leave a slight yellow/green tinge. I suggest you soak the front end in bicarb and vinegar with some warm water for a couple of hours and scrub. Turmeric is such a staining plant, the same happens if you juice a lot of Beets or carrots. It will have no bad affect on your juicer as long as you get most of the residue off on a regular basis there will be no mineral build up. This will help keep your juicer performing at its best. Enjoy Warmest Regards Vitality4Life Team.
mine is stained from turmeric since 5 years ago, but I'm not bothered
I have OSCAR DA-1000 Neo. How can juice grapes without crush the seeds that give astringent taste to the juice ?
Hi Alaur, I am afraid this is impossible, the only way around this would be to purchase seedless grapes. Good Luck and Enjoy Bec Vitality 4 Life.
