Penrite Oil HPR Diesel 15 15W-50 (Semi Synthetic) Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi, I had my 2015 MN 2.5 diesel serviced recently and the mechanic used Penrite 15/50. No where have I seen this oil recommended for my engine. I am now worried the oil is too thick for pick up on starting. I live 80klm south of Brisbane.
Hi, had my 2015 MN Triton 2.5 diesel 135k service completed and the mechanic used Penrite 15-50. No where have I seen 50 oil recommended for this engine?. I live south of Brisbane QLD. WORRIED to thick for pick up when starting.
Hi I have 2019 79 series v8 landcruiser with remap & DPF delete can I use this oil in it regards Bob
I don't see this being an issue!!! Download the Penrite app and see what's suitable for your vehicle. My mate uses 15w40 on his vdj79 but that's done 300+. Iv used 15 50 in my patrol for years and always runs like a dream
I have put hpr 15w-50 in my recently purchased 2009 Mitsubishi triton (3.2 ltr engine). It has been well looked after and has full service history (147000km). I will have my mechanic do the book services at 15000km but I intend to do an oil change myself at 7500km. I live in North Queensland so ambient temperatures are high in summer and this is why I chose to use this weight oil. The Penrite chart recommends 10w-40 for my vehicle but the ambient temp recommendations do overlap between these two oils, within temp ranges in my area. Im probably splitting hairs here but have I made a correct choice? Would it be advisable to use the 10w-40 in winter. Appreciate second opinion.
Sorry, Richard, I can't comment on that grade 15w-50 as mine is an older Perkins diesel & I use 20w-60 . I'm somewhat further south . Good Luck ! John .

would you recommend using penrite HPR diesel 15 engine oil 15w-50 in my Ducati Diavel Motorcycle?
i would go by the oil requirements in the owners manual on your motor bike
It says on your products that it can be used in 4stroke motorcycles. Denis Rheinberger....
Hi Denis,
Thanks for your inquiry.
Can you please advise the year of manufacture for this bike and is it known as the Carbon, Strada or Titanium?
My Ducati is Diavel Carbon ABS Red 2014 with the 1198cc motor.
Hello Denis , you would need to check the specs in your manual if you are worried about what Ducati says . I can tell you that the HPR with the motorcycle shown on the container does a very good job in my older TL1000S. I use it in my Prado and MX5 and WRX and dirt bikes. Has been very quiet and smooth shifting with no clutch slip (TL problem) . I try different oils in different machines and sometimes need to do a quick change if I get unwanted noises but The HPR has covered all my needs. Get it on sale and keep you oil gold...
