Does Photobook answer their phone. I was on hold for more than hour before I was asked to leave a message
I have been answered quickly but your experience indicates that some days they can't cope.
Hi Susan, Sorry to hear that. Please email us at smile@photobookshop.com.au and we can arrange for someone to contact you.
Hi there,
I have ordered acrylic wall photo prints and when I completed this online the pictures looked a little blurry, even in preview, when they aren't blurry pictures. Does this mean they will print blurry or will they print like the original photo's I have?
Hi Radina, Did it look blurry when you uploade the image? Was there an esclamation mark on the image when you created the project? If the answer is yes, than yes it will most likely come out blurry. Can you provide the order number and I can have a look at the file for you.
Hi, the image looked clear when uploaded, but looks blury when dragged in the project frame and also in preview. There was no ! Mark on the image when created the project. I have not yet made payment being unsure of quality. As the original photo is 11mb in file size and roughly 3000x5000 dimensions. Are you able to check if my project is on progress as well? I am happy to send you the photo
Hi, I have checked the files and they look fine. They are not blurry. If you require any further assistance please contact us at smile@photobookshop.com.au

How can I allocate the same text to my whole album, in every text box without having to select the text format every time?
I always have to select the text each time. Im not sure if you can do it any other way. Send them the question as they are very helpful.
Hi Shirley, Yes that is possible. If you right click on the text box once you have completed the first one there is an option that you can set default text style. I can send a screenshot but if you need more assistance on this please email us at smile@photobookshop.com.au
i have downloaded the photobookShopDesigner.exe programme and uploaded photos. completed a project and saved as i went from photo to photo. when i press order. i get the message Someof the picture boxes in your project are empty. i see that all are empty. have no idea how to fix this. please send through instruction. thanks
Hi, Have you moved the folder or files of the pics from your desktop after you uploaded them to the project? You need to leave the pictures in the same location until the project has been ordered. This is what normally occurs when photos have been moved.
Please let me know if you require any further assistance.
I would like a refund, I have tried several times to get help to produce 2 photobooks and magnets and nothing is working. Your customer support is saying I cannot have a refund, but I have no products and you can't help me so I wan't a refund please. I have made Photobook shop books previously and never had this trouble. thanks
Hi Laine,
What issues are you having in creating the projects? Are you using the online or desktop software?
I am constantly having issues trying to get started, I am trying to start the desktop software and I can't for the life of me work it out, there is no where for me to add the voucher and to continue. I have spent days working on this rubbish it is so complex. I have no product and I cannot get it to work so I want a refund, a credit will not help me if I cannot make these books. thank you
Hi Laine, You don't need to enter the voucher until right at the end when you get to the checkout page. You need to create your book first based on the size and pages of the voucher. We are more than happy to guide you over the phone if you would still like to create the book.
How to link already loaded Photobook Shop software to an external Photo editing software?
Hi Adam, Thanks for your question. Unfortunately that is not an option that we offer at the moment. For further assistance please reach out to us at asmile@photobookshop.com.au
Adam, I have moved away from using the PBS software as your 100s hours of work is tied to one photo printing service provider and their limited editing features. Instead, I now use Adobe PhotoShop Elements to create a full two page spread as one PSD file. I have sized and created various templates with exact canvas area dimensions to the book size I want and added guidelines for the bleed lines. Once I have completed a one or two page spread, I export as one JPEG file typically around 30 MByte. Hence I then just add this one photo to each spread when making the PBS book or any other photobook supplier.
Hi, Would you please provide an answer to my question below? As I have a number of wall prints to do and of different sizes. How do I calculate size of photographs with aspect ratio 16:9 to allow for wraparound wall canvas prints?
Hello Jeffo, apologies i cannot help you with your query but i notice Photobookshop support has replied. Good luck. G57
Hi Jeffo we normally recommend your photos to be between 4-5mb in size and around 4000x5000 pixels. Please bear in mind that depending on the size of your canvas the photo will be stretched larger than it appears on your screen. Larger canvases will require higher resolution photos we normally recommend 7000*7000 for the larger canvases. If you see an orange exclamation mark on your photo then this means the photo is of low quality and may not print well. When creating your canvas the photo needs to be stretched/ fitted inside the red box. Anything between the red and blue box will be wrapped around the canvas. If you require any further support please feel free to reach out to customer support.
Thank you replying with answer, however not sure what you consider large so perhaps you will advise pixels for 600mm/ 750mm /1000mm with appropriate heights? Very appreciative of you assistance thank you. Regards, Neil PS. I purchased many photo books from you previous to last 2 years but when I went to sign in there was no recognition so I just made a new account??
Hi Neil, Can you provide me your previous email address and I can have a look if we have it in the system.
Hi, Same as the one you sent this email to:)
Hi Neil, We cant see any email details. Can you please email us at smile@photobookshop.com.au so we can assist you further.
All sorted, as I said, just signed up again. Could send you many pay pal receipts but what is the point? I was just making a comment, have moved on. But not impressed with no answer to my important question above re 600mm/750mm/1000mm??? Neil
Hi Neil, So for the 75-100cm (750mm-1000mm) we recommend between 5000-7000 pixels ( no more than 7000) and for the smaller sizes they should be at least 4000*4000 pixels.
Please let me know if you requrie any further assistance
Thank you for your help. Much obliged,
Neil
I am about to order some photoprints 4x6 format what is the best image size and resolution for my photos? Dawn A
I'm no expert, but for 4x6 prints the original image size and resolution shouldn't matter. A modern phone or camera's sensor resolution would normally produce large, high resolution images so reducing them to a 4x6 format would concenrate the number of pixels to fit that format giving clear, sharp images. I hope that makes some sense.
My camera gives me 6000 x 6000 res.350 I guess I can experiment on the computer, perhaps work with 2000PX largest size and crop to 4x6. Thanks D
Hi Dawn, For photo prints we normally recommend 5000*5000 pixels but not over 7000*7000 pixels Please let us know if you require any further assistance.
I'm sure this will help so thanks PHS and Wambijohn Cheers D

Unable to see my project
Unable to see my project
Hi Julie, Which designer have you used to create the project? Online via the website or your desktop software?
I have downloaded the software on my laptop. When I go to recreate the project it tells me that it already exists, but I am unable to see it in my project folder.
Can you please do the following for me? Make sure you do this with the user account you created the project. If you have changed user accounts or made new user accounts then this is why your project is missing.
The project files are stored under My Documents > PhotobookShop.com.au Projects. Do you still have this folder on your computer? You should see your projects in this folder. There should be folders in this folder called the same as your projects, e.g. holiday2012.prj In the holiday2012.prj folder you should find a file called holiday2012.prj
If this file doesn't exist then do you have a folder called History? If so take a look in this folder. You will notice files name with dates and the extension .prj Copy the latest .prj file into My Documents > PhotobookShop.com.au Projects > holiday2012.prj and then rename it to holiday2012.prj Note: holiday2012.prj is the name of your project.
Now close and reopen our software. You should now see your project under 'Open an Existing Project'.
Thank you. I found the file. It was easier for me to delete it and start again.
Do you provide software package to layout the pictures and create an album?
They certainly do…….go into their page and follow the prompts to download their software program. Once downloaded, it’s always there to use. I have just done a family history book with photos, certificates and lots of information. Having the software program gave me plenty of options and if you get stuck, their chat line is so helpful. I did 30 copies of the book and am absolutely thrilled with the result.
Hi Glenyse,
Yes, we do. If you go to our website your can download the software. We have 2 options there for PC and Mac. Please let us know if you require any further assistance.
I am not able to upload some folders of photos in my current photoshop project...other folders have been ok to load. How do I fix this?
Try the chat line, they can talk you through it!
Hello Frances,
Can you please try creating a folder on the desktop and put the photos you wish to upload there on that folder.
After that, upload the photos from that folder.
Thanks for the advice. Will give it a go. Cheers
I can download and use your software oon my Mac, but when I try on my Macbook Pro running Ventrua, it says that this software is not supported in my country/region (Perth Australia). I would really like to make photobooks on my macbook, how can I do this please?
Please follow this link to first download our software: external link Below are the minimum specifications required to install our software on your MAC. - 1GB RAM - 2GB free hard disc space - Mac OS 10.3.9 Please be advised that because of Apple software restrictions the above link is the "lite" version of our software. You can update the software to the "full" version once you have the software installed on your computer.
Once your download is complete a small window will appear with two folders – “PhotobookShop.com.au” and “Applications”.
Drag “PhotobookShop.com.au” over to “Applications”. Once you have done this, you have successfully installed our program.
You will need to go to your “Applications” folder and double click on the program to launch it. You are now ready to start your project.
Is there provision to write a caption near the photo or should I do that on the photo itself first.
Yes It is my submission.
Hi Leonie, Yes you should be able to write a caption near the photo. You will just need to add a text box first and then add your text inside the box. If you require any further assistance please contact us at smile@photobookshop.com.au
Thank you.
Your caption can go wherever you want it to be! You’re in full creative control. Position a text box where you like under or partially or fully over a picture, select your font, colour of text and size and away you go. You can tip the text box onto an angle for added effect as well. Just be thoughtful about the colour with regard to the colours in the section of the photo where the text box is sited so the text stands out against the background image.
Hi I'm doing an A3 portrait calender, I thought i would be able to individually do the pages and pick backgrounds...is there a function for this or is it all automated
Hi Bex, Yes you should be able to change the backgrounds. You select this under layouts when creating the calendar. Are you using the online or desktop designer?
Hello. Can I create my own book cover or do you have templates to choose from? My first book will be a recipe book for my family. Also, Can I use the same software to create a story book which has about 20+ pages and some pictures. More text than pictures. [Name Removed] [Content Removed]
Hi Pamela, We have various templates that you can choose from and we also have recipe book templates as well. If you have downloaded the software you can create all the projects in there. If you are unable to see various products you may just need to update the software. If you require any further assistance please feel free to email us at smile@photobookshop.com.au
How do I reopen a project when the message "data version mismatch" appears
Hi John, When was the project created? Are you using the software or the online designer?
Using the software, I think, not the designer. The project - Silo and Mural - was last open May 2023. I've made numerous of photobooks.
Hi John, I have asked the team and they have suggested that you try to uninstall and then reinstall the software.
Hi Team. We have downloaded software onto a mac running macOS Ventura 13.4 and getting the following error when trying to open the program. Can you please advise what we need to do to open the software.
Critical Error... Critical Error. No licence key found.
Thanks Lester
I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulty at the moment, I would like to recommend that you re-install our software onto your computer. Please try whichever one of the below links applies to your computer type.
MAC: external link
Please be advised that because of Apple software restrictions the above link is the "lite" version of our software, you can update the software to the "full" version once you have the software installed on your computer.
