stay far far away from these guys. Dodgy builders. read the reviews below. the negative far out weigh the positives. From: a very disgruntled customer who has spent well over 50k fixing the stuff ups made on a brand new house. Builders wont take ANY responsibility.

Nice to sign you up after promising you all that you want, all went downhill from there. Very badly misinformed on so many things. Avoid this building group at all costs, many expensive hidden extras.

We are at frame stage and builder has gone rogue.he is also extremely rude and abusive to us. Incredibly unprofessional.

Delivered wrong roof tiles, stopped work, won't return to site and is demanding we pay him thousands in lost work/time.

Our home has been left for months exposed to the elements and is at risk of damage.

He couldn't care less, but expects us to pay him, an absolute joke. We have hired a private building inspector to oversee work carried out, if it does in the future.

Unfortunately we have called in lawyers.

Avoid and save yourself the money/ heartache.

Does anyone have any information on how their build went with Premiere Builders Group in 2016? I understand that Onley doesn't exist anymore and this company seemed to cause a lot of trouble for many people. Is the new group any better? Trying to decide whether these bad reviews are continuing in 2016 or whether they finished when Onely became insovent. Thinking of building with this group in 2017.

Hi everyone, I just paid holding deposit for a single story unit in a land development project by Premier Builders Group. But I am seeing many negative reviews about them and having second thoughts. Has anyone built with them recently? Are they reliable builders?

Sbm
Sbm

Hi there, me and my wife are also thinking of proceeding with one of their designs (single storey) considering the negative reviews were more related to one of the ex-sub contractors (onley) we believe things should be fine - but we are still not sure amd kinda double minded :)

Mini
Mini

DO NOT BUILD WITH PREMIER, they hand you onto their useless builders & wipe your hands of you!!!! And then the fun begins, especially if you cop prime projects, who are so lovely during the build, but years on, things are falling apart, the build is so cheap & not worth half the money. Units nearby built by Prime are falling apart also, 15+, Prime do nothing to help them either. Unqualified trades people, don't return calls, dogily fix up any problem, hoping it will keep masked until your fix up cover/warranty expires. And it will, they take months & string out every fix up, don't return calls & give every excuse & lie. Definitely look for another builder. I know people who built with Prime years ago, they used to be good, but now with their unqualified arrogant staff, the managers don't obviously care & let their maintence monkeys run their business, it's like a zoo!!!!!!!

Filia D
Filia D

Mini we are currently having issues with the builder as well. Maintenance is a joke. Did you get a result?

Mini
Mini

Went to VCAT small payout. Fixing the big problems, barely enough, finding more problems as we go! Absolute joke. Each time we ripp out tiles, fix 1 thing, there's another problem. I know a few people having the same problems with this builder. The builder does not care & won't admit fault or take responsibility, they never returned calls or bothered to come & look at the work that was faulty, they just wanted to pay out a small figure & wipe their hands of us. The company is a joke. Getting too big & allowing their maintenece staff who are unqualified to dictate the rules. Sign off on waterproofing & work that is not carried out correctly or by standards. Sad!

Hi guys saw premier builders group today after re looking for a new builder as we have had many issues. Has anyone got any feedback on their build in 2015 and 2016? id love to hear good reviews and if they are not so good to reason why please! Thanks

The salesperson at Premier Builders Group who we have spoken with for a few years now is at Timbertop and his name is Wayne Colomb. He has gone above and beyond to help us find the land and the right builder and the house that we wanted. He's never pushed us or been impatient just supportive and has lots of ideas that have made this house perfect for us. Our house is almost complete now (Sept. '16) so I can't tell you if everything works but when there has been any concerns Prime and Wayne have helped us to sort it out pretty quickly. The tradies who I have spoken to speak very highly of Prime and all talk about it being a quality build. After talking to many others, I work with many young families who have built or starting to build, who are dealing with many different building companies the common denominator seems to be lack of communication and that leads to stress for customers. All I'd say when buying land or house make sure you have a date for title and a date for the completion of your house because that is what has stressed us the most. Our house is almost done and is beautiful.

Lynn.

hhmmm. cracks in the walls. toilet overflowed into master bedroom due to blocked drains ....and really bad seal on tile floor. had toilet removed and floor re finished so toilet would seal. ps ...if waterproofing had of been done correctly . the shi^^y water would not have flowed through thee wall into the master bedroom. roof is still damaged from where the painters walked ( jumped ) all over it. Want me to keep going. oh never any response to builder about issues.

I am currently building with premier builders group with prime projects.we have had issues with the salesperson who had sold us the house in Clyde north with hidden costs and being very pushy to sign without given a chance to read the contract .there was a lot of extras that we didn't ask for and things we wanted but we're not put in the contract.we rang him up a couple of days later and he told us that it would all be sorted out.when we started the build I accidentally spotted the supervisor at the build and mentioned to him about one of the changes being concrete tile roof in lieu of colorbond.he was surprised and lucky I told him otherwise if the frame had been put up I would have been stuck with colorbond.has anybody had similar issues?do I have to go over everything again with the builder?

Hi George,

This is very concerning. I just wanted to find out how the build is to date as I'm thinking of looking Premier Homes as a potential builder.

What did you find were the hidden costs and were they major costs?

Thanks

The slab has been laid and so far all is o.k.make sure you do not give a deposit till you get the final price on the build inc.site costs.Hope all goes well.

George34
George34

Site costs were not mentioned at all that this was also an added expense.we were charged $22,000 for a property that was on flat land.we thought we at least would have been warned about this major expense.g.s.t was also not included in the original quote.that was a suprise after we paid the 5% deposit.that was an extra $32,000.also rock removal which we were told we were covered by the salesman but didnt read the plan properly which read otherwise which we admit was our mistake.that was $17000.that is over $70000 on the price which we didnt expect . $54,000 was after we paid the initial deposit.

Does anyone have any details on the sub contractors Premier Builder Group deals with (other than Onley)? Reading these reviews is making me very nervous to deal with these guys. We have had initial consultations with the sales consultant which have been good (slightly full on) but seriously considering walking away now.

westy1974

Not too sure who you dealt with but when I built my house, these guys were the only ones to be upfront with me. All the other builders ONLY talk about the fun stuff where as Premier talk about the fun stuff but also the stuff you really need to know. I found them to be very transparent which is exactly what the consultant told us they would be from day one. After our initial meeting we weren't hand balled to another person in head office that we didn't know or trust, we had the one consultant the whole time which kept us at ease being that it was our first home.

They explained everything to us in terms that we understood and most of all if we wanted to make a change or put something we had purchased ourselves it wasn't a problem.

Everyone is going to have some form of issue when they build but who wouldn't when you actually think about what they are doing for us, so I feel that if you do have an issue no matter how big or small, CALL THEM as soon as you find it and be civil with them. No one ever got anywhere by being a nuisance so don't let it boil and fester away to the point you want to pull the pin, talk to them, I'm sure they will be more than happy to sort it out for you! Just my 2 cents.

Be cautious...make sure you get yourself a building inspector for every step of the build.I cant point this out enough...before any payments made. This is because they are not interested in coming back to fix their sub standard work...this includes their plumbing.framing. water proofing.fitting. roofing.

You will notice their is a time period missing in these reviews...probably been removed as they were not favourable.

Again INSPECTIONS REQUIRED .

These guys do an awesome job of selling....thats where it stops.

We built our house through Premier but. Not with Onley but with Prime Projects Construction. Cannot rave enough about how well we were looked after, from the office staff to the site supervisor and everyone in between. We had our SS phone number and were in constant contact. 3 years later our house has not a crack or other problem. It is solidly built by people who give a damn about quality. I recommend Prime to anyone wanting to build.

DONT Deal with prime projects.....Dodgy! One of Premiers builders! Premier are lovely - selling to you, primes site supervisors are great whilst building, then once they've been paid - you need maintenance - absolutely disgusting. Water under tiles, paint chipping, water through range hood, mix match step ups in flooring, cracks in tiles, mildew smells, bad dodgy fix ups! won't help, won't fix, off to VCAT WE GO!!!!

If you have it yet.

We went to VCAT & they gave us a small pay out figure, we have managed to fix the BIG problems, like leaking bathrooms, showers & mould. When bathrooms were ripped out there was so much water under the tiles, as well as mould & dodgy electric work, etc..... we are slowly fixing everything but their pay out figure is barely enough. They ought to be ashamed of themselves, I know a lot of people now who are having problems with these people, something needs to be done.

Still no reviews on these guys ? I am really interested to know if there is a single person out there who has had dealings with these guys. We have just purchased in a small development they have built. Steer very clear of them if you can help it they liar and do not honor the contract. We have still not had our house completed , they skimp on everything. I most definately not reccomend them go to a decent builder who does not liar and cheat.

elizabeth

same as BJ, no communication, dodges questions, way over the time, still not finished even though we have moved in, wires hanging out of walls where air con should be , major drainage problems, handed over with a dead garden, no top soil, only clay and weeds as lawn even though paid for landscaping and rubbish left in back yard. Damage to guttering , render flaking. this is all in a short period of 1 month. There is certainly plenty of other excellent reputable builders other than premier. Stay Clear!!!

Absolutely terrible .. We went to sign final contracts & their hidden costs were approximately $45000 over tender price with no explanation. Paid $2500 deposit of which they will not refund. Send numerous emails and calls regarding this over past six weeks and heard nothing. Got through to head office and spoke to a very rude man saying we will not see a cent and that we actually owe them money. All they did was a soil test and preliminary plans. Within 24 hours of speaking to someone we get an invoice for an additional $3500.. They said if we didn't like it by all means take them to VCAT but they have never lost a claim.

We found another builder (fairhaven) only to find that we didn't have a bushfire attack level on our land which premier charged us $5000 for as well as about $15000 worth of upgrades we would need to comply with the BAL. Also, all extras were double the price of fairhaven ie additional PowerPoints. Absolutely disgusting !

We contacted Premier Builders Group after seeing a display home in Cranbourne North. Could not have been happier with the consultant. [name removed] did anything we asked for including changes that were quite major. Our dealings with him were excellent. I would definitely recommend Premier all the way.

We got our plans and the builder was to be Onley Homes. Now the trouble started. We were always on their backs. All appeared to be going very slow but okay i guess. Then we started having troubles. Supervisor never got back to us. We were constantly ringing them. Then they had financial trouble and so it went on. We started with slab in March 2013 finally moved in Jan 2014. House not completely finished. Had done a walk through with builder noted problems. Was told they were on Christmas break they would sorry once back at work. Not seen anyone since. Initially we were supposed to be in by August 2013. Not at all happy with Onley. Only good thing is they are no longer building and causing new people drama.

Premier builders were great to deal with. We would go to them again and would just check out the builder before we sign anything.

When you want to get a home built, you cant buy off the shelf, you need to do your due diligence and it is hard work. You have to make sure the builder is the right builder for you and that their core values are in line with your expectations. Site costs are the sole reason people have bad experiences. If you have a sales consultant that cant explain them, then you are in trouble, because you wont know what you are paying for and get frustrated.

The best way to buy a home is this. You need to work out what the base price of the home is and exactly what that includes, Then you need to know what the tick the box upgrades are. Then you need to know what your customised inclusions will cost you. These 3 items form all the products and optional extras in your home on an M class slab, on a flat block, with everything absolutelly perfect. But then your block will have site cost related items that do not form part of the initial quote and until an investigation of the site is completed you wont know. and guess what, that will cost money (and rightly so). But before you pay this money ask what the rates are?

Does it really matter what the quantities are or how much fall is on the block, coz really who cares about that, you just want to know what the rates are in the event you will need this.

You are not going to buy a special water fountain for $200 and not know how much the water will cost you if you buy in 1 litre of 5 litre etc, your going to ask right!. So you ask: How much to do a site cut a building site with 1m fall, How much per m3 to remove the soil. How much per LM to do an aggie drain, How much per m3 for bulk concrete, How much per LM if Tree root barrier is required or a deepened edge beam due to being next to an easement. show me an example of other jobs that have Bal rating 12.5.

If these questions don't get answered then can you trust the person you are dealing with?
