Reolink Questions & Answers
Hi dear, I bought Reolink camera and it’s not working from out of the box, I contacted the Reolink support we went through the support didn’t work, they said the seller responsible for refund , when I contacted the seller he said Reolink should provide a ticket, I contacted the Reolink they stopped responding to my emails. Is fair from Reolink to me please let me know what should I do.
What model camera did you purchase? When was it purchased and from where? Have you supplied proof of purchase to REOLINK? "He said" is not a valid issue unless you have the sellers response in writing. I've been there, done that. REOLINK respond to genuine issues that they are responsible for. As for secondary sellers, that is something you need to provide proof of before a claim can be instigated. If you provide adequate documentation of purchase as required by any seller, or reseller, then the company will comply with warranties, pending circumstances. Otherwise, you gambled on a subjective purchase with a dubious seller.
I have had many communication dealings with REOLINK over the past few years, and mostly they respond within a day or so to genuine issues. Never once have they ignored me. And I have sent copious amounts of emails to them. All I can say is, your correspondences to REOLINK are obviously disingenuous, or unsupported, or designed to solicit something. Prove me wrong and tell us all where, when and whom you bought the item, and in what condition - New/Used.
Awaiting your response
Hi Mr. G Thank you for your reply. The model is Reolink 4K 8MP Outdoor Home Security IP Camera Person/Vehicle Detection RLC-810A. I purchased on 10 April 2023 from ebay. I did supply proof of purchase and Reolink said one of our authorised sellers.
Well, if that is accurate, REOLINK should abide by their warranty and keep in contact with you to resolve this issue. But I can only say this from what you supplied here. As always, there are at least 2 sides to every story.
I also bought a REOLINK camera from eBay a few years ago which failed. I got a similar response you purport here. So it pays to shop 'Genuine' and from the manufacturer.
Lesson learned? Absolutely ! 2 failed cameras, 2 claims resolved. Niggling, but resolved.
Buy from REOLINK directly. Sometimes it is cheaper, and you get a great product with infinite support.
That is all I have to say about your purchase until we see REOLINKs version of your issue.
Take care
Forget Reolink they not responding at all. I’m not going to chase them for $145 shame on them and their reputation. I’ll try different brand, I have 4 Reolink cameras I have to put them in the bin plus the new one. No more Reolink I have to tell everyone.
And nor should they respond until you have finalised the issue on eBay, which, it appears, you did not do. This could likely lead to a duplicate claim on the same item with 2 different parties, and yourself.
This is an eBay issue. Check Ebays policies on returns. Why would you want to trash all your cameras over a dubious eBay deal gone sour? Doesn't make sense. Oh well, that's your choice, I suppose.
I noticed you made a previous complaint about a product and you took that complaint to the seller, not the manufacturer. So why didn't you perservere in the same manner with your eBay scenario?
Good on you this is what I’m talking about, I requested return from ebay they sent me return postage sticker , but Reolink support said to buy POE it will work but didn’t, and then told me to try 12v power adapter it didn’t work, and it took three weeks emails going emails coming from support within three weeks I canceled the return, when I asked the ebay support they said they can’t reopen it. That’s why I’m upset from Reolink.
You got a return sticker from eBay Seller yet kept the item, and the claim period subsequently expired/cancelled as you were purportedly trying a work-around with the manufacturer. Why would anyone want to try a work-around on a brand new faulty item, if in fact it was brand new?
It sounds like eBay did the right thing to resolve your issue, but you did not follow through. Instead you chose to cancel the return and continue with a work-around. That was your choice, not eBays nor Reolinks. And your claim period subsequently with eBay expired. Did you ask eBay for an extension due to unresolved issues with the seller? They are really quite reasonable with these requests and will keep the "Ticket" open for a further agreed period if warranted.
Reolink, like many companies, can only advise online unless they receive the item back for inspection plus postage where applicable. That is a common resolution for hardware. Also, there would be either an on-line or postal registration that you may be required to fill out, or a verifiable receipt of purchase of a new item as proof of purchase.
I am unable to find fault with eBay, the seller nor Reolink in their actions. The eBay seller was the first line of your claim, which was completed via a "Returns Ticket". So that leaves only one other person to carry this load. Got a mirror?
I aplogise for being harsh, but you must admit that you kept the item and did not return it, even after you received a free return postage. What you decided to do, or in this instance, not to do, after receiving the free return was entirely your choice.
I hope you have better luck and acumen with your on-line dealings in the future.
Regards.
Depending on Reolink I kept the item, i can’t keep on restriction going on the ebay seller because he can’t do any transactions. Please understand me I’m not selfish. I’ve buying online many years I’m not professional but they should help the customer.
Depending on Reolink? Not true. You made this a Reolink issue by not following-up by returning the item to the seller, as you requested. "he can’t do any transactions" does this mean the Seller whom you purport to be an authorised Reolink reseller has his account restricted by eBay? Curious. The story just gets messier and messier and more holes than a Putin speech.
To reiterate: - As I said, you received a "FREE" return sticker as was duly supplied. You chose to cancel and not use it, and then continued actions outside eBay controls. How can this be anyone else's fault? You made a very unwise decision to not return the item when you had ample opportunity, even if you were in contact with the manufacturer or Mr Magoo on planet Krypton.
So, instead of getting a refund, you now have an alleged faulty item and trying to blame someone else for you not following eBays return policies.
Reolink should never have been involved in this eBay process by you until eBay warranty and return issues on a "NEW" item had neen resolved. Even then, you would need to provide proof of purchase of a "NEW" item and the sellers proof of the company's "Approved Reseller" documentation. Anyone can call themselves an "Approved Reseller", yet many are not. So don't believe all you read on eBay, or the WWW for that matter.
You bought a used item from a suspect seller from eBay and now you want the manufacturer to do what???? That's crazy. Apparently my first response to you was 100% accurate. You made false representations in an attempt to gain a financial benefit. AKA FRAUD.
Enough. Your fault you have no refund or compensation, but maybe a criminal case to answer. That's up to eBay and Reolink to pursue. Good luck.
Bye
Good comments. This person is a not the brightest lamp on the street. Should have sent it back. And I don't think this person has been completely honest or told the full story. Noticeably missing is the confirmation that the item on ebay was new. And yeah, the reseller account is now restricted? Sounds like a fake reseller to me. Still puzzled about why this person didn't return the camera for a full refund and with free shipping, and now is whinging about it. Maybe just wanted to blow off some steam after realizing their stoopidity. Who knows.
