What happens when you've paid out the loan? Do they send you your title? Loan paid off nearly a year ago and no contact.

Hi, do you send a notification on the last car loan repayment or do I have to contact you to confirm last payment so you don't take out any more repayments out of my account after that? Thanks. Jimmy.

Can someone please explain this for me :) .... What is the dedicated arrears column in the statement covering the duration of the loan for, and why is there a substantial negative balance appearing there RIGHT FROM DAY ONE of the contract loan, all the way through, when a repayment has never ever been missed ?

I'm wanting the same answer... I pay extra every fortnight, added another $2000 in payments over the last month and my "arrears" column keeps growing. It doest make sense!

Has anyone found out what it is?

Why has no one contacted the company to get the immediate answer ?

I found the answer ... it was in fact a credit amount, go figure.

If it's in brackets, it means you're in credit that amount.

How bloody stupid if its extra you have paid then it should not be put in a column saying arrears that is plain stupid, why not just not have the heading arrears and instead another column saying exactly credit in advance. I also find it rude to be charged an extra $2 for direct debit fees, bpay etc over the loan period in this case it equates to over $700 (really!) why is a fee charged for direct debit most places do it for free it just baffles me but when buying the car no one at the dealership gives you a run down on all the fees, had I known I'd of done a search around to get my own finance, but you live and learn the hard way sometimes...Worst finance company St George what a total rip off.

Has anyone put a complaint in with the ACCC?

Update, I approached St George with the evidence. They were prompt in their response and offered to refund us the early contract termination payment that we were charged. We were happy with the result and the matter was finalised.

What happens if your car is insured and you have 12 months payments to go and your car is assessed as a write off and your market value is 6,500 does the insurance company payout the loan and do you loose everything after paying car off for 4 yrs.?

How do I Find out the Balance of my Loan?

I had to contact the company and request a final payout figure. This was the only way I got an up to date figure.
