I am considering booking a Austarlian domestic cruising holiday. Which one of your cruising travelling policies would be considered to purchase to cover all medical and covid19 emergencies about from the general requirements. Thank you

Julian please believe me, do not go for the insurance. I got in a major accident and the service was disgusting. Do your research and pick somewhere a bit more trustworthy!

We are heading to the UK from Melbourne for a family wedding, however will be taking a 7 day cruise whilst in the UK with family. We have been advised that you need special cruise insurance, can we get this included in our overall travel policy or do we need two separate policies i.e., one for our trip from Australia to UK and another for the Cruise we are taking around Spain & Italy? Thanks

Does your quote say on the cover page that Covid 19 is covered for over US$35,000 or unlimited as this is a requirement for the Philippine government

Travel Insuranz   DM

Hi Bev, Thank you for your question and your interest in our products.  We cover Covid-19 under Section 2. Overseas Medical Expenses at no additional cost. Our certificate of insurance has been updated to show a Covid-19 medical expenses statement. This advises that you are covered for an unlimited amount. Your certificate of insurance will be emailed to you immediately once you have purchased a policy with us.

Let us know if you have any further questions. Have a great journey!

I have made a claim under my deluxe insurance for flight cancellations due to covid 19. You outsource your claims through a third party who have now spent 5 months demanding more and more information. I have now received a remittance email from yet a different company stating they have paid less than 10% of my claim (this refund is less than my actual policy cost) I have had absolutely no communication about this claim being finalised, how this calculation was arrived at, or what has NOT been refunded or why. How do I dispute this amount and at what point will any information actually be provided?

Is pregnancy classed as a pre existing condition? And if I had to cancel due to a complication would I be covered?

Travel Insuranz
Travel Insuranz   DM

Hi Melanie Thank you for your message. Yes, Pregnancy is classed as a pre-existing medical condition under our policies however dependant on a few different factors which you will find below may be covered automatically.

We cover ‘Pregnancy’ up to 18 weeks gestation from the date the trip ends provided no complications exist related to this pregnancy, it is not a multiple pregnancy and is not the result of assisted reproductive programme (IVF). It is also important to know that cover is only provided for serious complications of pregnancy and no cover is provided for childbirth or the health of a newborn child, irrespective of the stage of pregnancy at which the child is born.

Cover for pregnancy-related cancellation would depend on the medical advice given by your Doctor as to whether or not in their medical opinion, they felt traveling overseas would be a risk to your child or yourself.

For more information around pre-existing medical conditions including Pregnancy please copy and paste the following link into your browser to go to our pre-existing medical conditions page on our website.

Is your travel insurance (premium) a good cover for someone completing the Kokoda Trail in PNG?

bobanddoris

I am not sure as we haven't had to make a claim as yet, but we have done the Kokoda Trail with Kokoda Trekking in 2007 and had a fabulous time. We completed the track the day before Anzac Day, so it was a little bit special. You can never train enough for it. Some of it is like walking up and down a mountain of margarine. It was challenging but very rewarding. I wish you all the very best with it and hope you get out of it as much as my husband and I did. It was a real privilege to have walked in our diggers foot steps.

I have a pre existing heart condition Heart Attack 1 year ago also I have type 2 diabetes there is no where to disclose this. Will it effect my policy costs?

Travel Insuranz
Travel Insuranz   DM

Thank you for your question. During the Travel Insuranz online application process, you are asked if you have any pre-existing medical conditions and if you have, then the website explains what is and isn’t covered. The Travel Insuranz policy automatically covers a wide range of medical conditions however more serious conditions such as heart and diabetes would not be covered. As your heart attack is fairly recent it may be difficult to get cover. We would suggest that you do a google search for “travel insurance for heart conditions”.

We trust that this has helped answer your query.
