Hello, I had a double glazed double hung window put in two weeks ago. As soon as it was in I noticed that it let more outside noise in than my previous cheap window and in the mornings there is water in the window. On close inspection I noticed 4 large gaps where the windows slide across each other. What should I do? The windows are a failure And do not do what they are supposed to. It is noisy and I can feel air coming in.

My daughter has a house with a large double glass sliding door. The house was built about 2006. The track rollers are worn out and we cannot find anyone who is able to remove the door from its track. Several experienced people have tried. I have some experience with other brands, but this one does not have the same system. There is a hole at the bottom of the door with only visible screw, where most other doors have 2 screws. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Tim H

I have a house at the Sunshine Coast where Trend windows and doors were installed approximately 4 years ago. With recent storms this year, large quantities of water penetrated through the windows and it is has been impossible to manage. I am wondering if this is an acceptable trait of Trend Windows or is it standard with all sliding glass windows irrespective of the brand? Ted

I have a 5 year old house all with Trend Windows and sliding Doors. I have difficulty closing some of the 91 x 210cm double hung windows. Unless I use strength along with a board with a long handle I find them difficult to close and lock. If I don’t use the board I have to place my hands over the windows (those that are a bit easier). Please assist. Thank you

Trend Windows
Trend Windows   DM

Hi Jenny, This could be due to lack of use, double hung windows need to be opened and closed regularly to ensure smooth operation. The other reason this could be happening is due to changes in metal as the temperature changes, this can be corrected by adjusting the friction foot at the bottom of the sash. These feet clamp against the jambs to hold the sash in the correct place, too loose and the sash falls, too tight and you they become difficult to open them.

If you require instructions on how to adjust the friction foot at the bottom of the sash please email info@trendwindows.com.au and we can email these to you.

We have Trend windows. Had them serviced after we moved in to tweak any issues. Great service from your team. My question is can we lock into place a partially open double hung window???

Trend Windows
Trend Windows   DM

Hi Kim, Thanks for your question. Yes double hung windows can be locked in a partially open position if they have a vent lock fitted to the window. If your window doesn't currently have a vent lock fitted they can be retrofitted - however we can only retrofit to our wide style double hung windows. If you'd like to send an email to info@trendwindows.com.au with your order number, address and some images of your windows we can review your particular windows to see of retro fitting is an option.

I have a fixed 1 m x 2 m double glazed trend widow it looks like the bottom left hand corner has dropped opening up a 5 ml gap on the top right hand corner how do I fix this

Trend Windows
Trend Windows   DM

Hi Carmelo, Thanks for your question. Without actually seeing the issue it does sound like this problem could be fixed by a glazier. The bead will need to be removed and a setting block fitted under the glass. If you'd like to send an email to info@trendwindows.com.au with your order number, address and some images of your window we can review your particular situation for you and provide advice on how to resolve.

Our house is 2 year old and twice we had issues with water leaks when ever a heavy rains. This is not right. My neighbors has no issues. We reported to our builder and Trend has came out to check. But couldn't find the issue. They just put some silicon around a few area to seal, in case.

Good service but they can't get to the bottom of this. Now it happens again! Water came through and wet our walls and floor. Why?

My old investment property never had any issues with Water leaking when heavy rains or storm. Not happy at all. The stress we going through.

How do you close double hung windows without putting hands on the glass with consequent soiling?

Trend Windows
Trend Windows   DM

Hi Richard, Thanks for the question! Our wide style double hung windows do come with pull tabs so that the panels can be opened without touching the glass and our standard double hung windows have a built in handle in the frame for easy lifting.

We also have counterbalanced option as well in our Timber range where both panels can be opened with one movement, and we also offer an Aneeta Sashless window in both our aluminium and timber ranges which operates in a similar fashion. Hope this helps clear that one up!

Kind regards,

Mel - Trend Windows & Doors.

I have Trend Windows through my whole house. There are a couple of windows that I cannot pull up as they quickly slip back down. Others that appear to be jammed. I really love them, they look beautiful as they all have colonial panels. I would love to get someone in to do some maintenance on them. Is this service available? Awaiting an early reply. fromKatherine

Hi, we have new Trend double glazed wood windows that are difficult to close. It is a two person job as each pane will not stay in the closed position. The technician sprayed them but it made no difference. These windows are terrible. What are the options?
