Vergola Questions & Answers
VerifiedWe have had a power outage, now one panel of my Vergola keeps trying to open but can’t. I’ve tried turning the house power off to reset but still it continues to try to open unsuccessfully.
Vergola not operating.
I moved into a house in inner East Melbourne, with a vergola a couple months ago. I have been waiting a few weeks for the repair guy to make contact. I called the Vergola office again today and was told I just need to wait, and the technicians number cannot be given out. Surely there is more than one person that can fix the issue. It seems he is too busy to even make contact after a number of calls. Who else can I contact? It was built in 2005, so is no longer under warranty. Apparently the remote was lost, so a new controller will need to be built? Who can I go to for this? I am trying to have it repaired before summer, but it isn’t looking very promising.
2 blades are hanging open. Is there a way I can manually turn them all to open?
Thanks Fiona
My vergola won't open, can you recomend how I fix this, it seems to have power going to it, it sounds like its going to open and then doesnt open. Please help?
It sounds like the panel actuator arm is slipping on the motor wheel spindle. I have had a similar problem. The set screws are not indexed into the main spindle so they slip on the shaft.
The circlips on the blades of our vergola fall off every few weeks causing the blades to spin freely and interfere with each other. Replacing the circlips is only a temporary fix. Has anyone experienced similar problems and been able to solve them? If so, how?
Had to drill 1.5mm hole in each shaft and fit a ss split pin to keep the washers on
Can anyone let me know if they have had problems with Vergola? We signed a contract with them in April according to meetings then it would be completed in 3 months. They are now telling us October at the earliest. Has anyone else had issues with them? We are in Melbourne so anyone who has any information on the Melbourne franchise would be good to hear from Thank you
I’ve signed a contract and paid the deposit, the sales person I’m dealing here in Melbourne was attentive and responsive during that stage and now won’t respond at all and hasn’t scheduled the final measurements with the construction manager. I’ll give him one more day before I escalate as it seems to me like a complete bait and switch approach he has chosen to adopt and unfortunately not having a good experience with this individual. Your experience may vary but if they are not responsive first escalate with their management team to give them adequate opportunity to address the issues and if they don’t respond with an adequate solution go through the various external options to seek a resolution. It’s not that hard to keep people posted or communicate in a courteous manner, so I’m puzzled as to why they are risking their reputation!?
Our Vergola is on Auto (but is not working and also cannot be switched to manual)). I looked at the circuit board and there is flashing light against section which states Power/Rain, any suggestions on a fix?
Mate we have the same issue did you fix it?
I have a Vergola and I need to disable the automatic rain function, so the shutters stay shut right through winter. How do you do this?
closed the shutter disconnect the senser wire
Can you recharge vergola batteries
My vergola in Warragul Gippsland needs a service Does not open Battery? Motor? issue Please could someone recommend a vergola service tradesperson in the Warragul or Gippsland area Many thanks Nilaofer
Our Vergola is 3 years old and it will not open when the weather is fine. The light comes on the transmitter so it not a battery issue. Before it completely stopped we had to manually open it. Any advice please?
Is a replacement remote available for the Vergola, if so, where from (interested no-one else has ever asked)
Did you ever find a replacement remote for your Vergola?
Nope, never got a call back or a reply to my direct emails…
Did you find a work around the missing remote? Like have a new controller built? If so, can you share who you used please. I have struggling to get mine looked at by Vergola technician and want it working for summer (I have recently moved into a new house with one installed - missing remote)
My verbal is 30 years old and O I am very pleased with it. Unfortunately the house guttering in the corner of my verandah which has an attached Vergola. How do I go about replacing the house gutter to which the Vergola is installed. Do you have recommendations for people who do this work?
How to rotate the motor that has failed (tested, has power to the motor) so as to be able to remove all 3 screws holding it? Unit is over 15 yrs old.
Found out the unit/cog should have been able to revolve manually, but it had seized. Had to drill though the large metal cog inline with each of the 2 remaining screws. The motor is running freely fwd & back, looking like the switch used to toggle blades is faulty at this stage. (Will purchase tomorrow), fingers crossed that’s the prob.)
My Vergola is 13 years old and in 2 sections has worked perfectly until now only 1 side works any suggestions I’m on south coast of Sydney and very close to beach
i have had the motor on my vergola replaced the blades do not shut up tightly anymore, the louvres used to clag when they shut, this is allowing water to splash onto my deck (Vergola was installed 28 years ago) is there away to adjust travel on motor. I was going to purchase storm seals for the blades but see reviews saying they fall off, bit od an expense at $25.00 per meter to have them fall off.
Any suggestions
Hi - we recently had a Vergola installed and have noticed that even for light rain (and without any wind) we get bounce back of water running/dripping into the guttering onto our furniture underneath. Given we are in Qld (and summer will bring much heavier rain) we would like to know if we can extend the gutter lip, or any other suggestions as we really don’t want our furniture ruined and would also like it useable during light rain. Thank you.
Hi, my Vergolla (located in SA) shut yesterday during the rain and was partially open this morning. I opened it fully to let the sun in and it has now automatically fully shut and will not reopen. I have hit the open button on the remote and the red light is on but no opening on the Vergolla. I have also replaced the battery just in case that was it but again it is still not working. What could be the problem? Thanks Kristy
I also wanted to ask if there is water on the sensor will pressing the 'open' button on the remote override the rain sensor which tells the Vergola to stay closed?
The louvres will remain shut while the sensor is wet. If you want the louvres to open you need to override the sensor by pressing the RAIN button for 5 seconds. Otherwise the louvres will automatically open as you found in the morning once the sensor was dry.
My Vergola is 6 years old. Nearly all of the brackets that support the louvres is suffering from zinc oxide rust. Is this a manufacturing fault? How can it be remedied?
Hi We are located in Western Victoria and have had our Vergil’s for 7 years we need a new battery and transformer Could you advise on where to purchase these products please . Michele
Hi Michele, The battery's are available at most bunnings or battery world stores. In regards to the Transformer it would be best to speak with head office 1800 8374 652 Cheers Mark Petrosino
Hello. Our Vergola is 6 years old. We are in South Australia. The rain sensor red light has started flashing quickly and there is a high pitched beeping sound coming from the control box. Any suggestions about what could be causing this. We have not had any rain recently.
Hi Merro58, Please call our SA office and chat with Hanna. Feel free to contact me back if you have no luck Cheers Mark Petrosino
