Woolworths Travel Insurance

I'm off for 2 years to Canada on a working visa. I'm required to present two year's worth of travel insurance at the border upon first arriving - I've bought one year with Woolworths, and want to buy a policy from November 2020 to November 2021. Is it possible to do this? The online quote system only allows for the next year.

Thanks

most travel insurances are not for working situations (read all PDS carefully) .. perhaps buy your insurance from a Canadian insurer.

Would like a woolworths rep. To answer my questions please:

In woolworths general exclusions section pg.30 no.14 mass media/govt warning - I asked woolworths if I listened to such a warning and cancelled my trip (did not go) would I be reimbursed for the full cost of over $15,000 (my son and me). They refused to give me an any advice saying that I have to make up my own mind about these things. Can you please give me some helpful advice about this and no.15

No.18 search & rescue costs woolworths say they wont pay these - then who will pay for this??? Would countries like peru, argentina and brazil cover these???

Pg. 31 talks about if you have needed any treatment or prescribed medication 90 days before start of policy (which I was forced to buy on 4/6/19 to cover all my airfares/tours paid). When I tried getting some answers from woolworths insurance I told them I was down with the flu and on medication (antibiotics) and asked whether this would mean that I would not get paid cancellation & amendment costs if closer to date of travel I again developed the flu??? Was told that this was a pre existing ailment - which I cannot believe is true, as the flu can come and go at any time - unlike the osteoporosis that I honestly declared I have and which I will be insured for. Nobody can prevent getting the flu. I have taken the flu vaccine and still got it. The flu cannot be deemed a pre existing ailment that customers miss out on a genuine claim. Clarify this please

Section 4 - additional expenses page 23 (top of page) - most we will pay will be $3000 - does this $3000 apply to the whole of this section or to just one particular point???? Help please

Below also says most we will pay is $2000 - I am very confused about these two amounts - clarify please

Romas...Woolworths won’t answer your question because if they did, they couldn’t deny your claim. If I were you I would try to find another insurance company, as there is zero leniency with Woolworths. Flu is definitely not a pre existing condition and for Woolworths to say it is, is unbelievable.

The last point you will. Red to clarify, and get in writing, their full statement.

I have found that even when I took my claim to management, in spite of my proof of my lost phone, they still denied it. Woolworths are good at taking your money, but not giving back when there is a legitimate claim.

does woolworths travel insurance include cruise cover?

1 answer
Woolworths Travel Insurance
Ryan A.Woolworths Travel Insurance

Hi Med, Thank you very much for your question. Yes we do cover Cruise's. Our travel insurance policies automatically provide cover for cruises provided that on your policy you have selected the destinations (countries) your cruise will be going too. If you are staying within Australian waters while cruising then the destination would need to be listed as "Australian Cruises".

If you were to take cover with us we would not provide the responsibility on that factor however bear in mind all claims are taken on a case by case basis. Everything else outlined in our Product Disclosure Statement can be covered (inclusions and exclusions apply).

Hi Gary D

I glad that you have your heart problem under control like yourself my was prostate cancer stage 4 and it is all under control now and as Ryan says from Woolworths travel Insurance you are still covered for everything else except your heart condition, like myself I'm covered for everything else except if I have any more prostate cancer troubles and like yourself I hope you and I never do have any more.

I am still using Woolworths travel Insurance as when I was sent home from New Zealand on a cruise and was diagnosed when I got back to Australia, but as I said in my earlier statement everything was paid-up by Woolworths travel Insurance, that is Why we have taken out two more insurance policies from them as I know that if I do have to claim again as long as it it's not for my previous condition that I am covered, I hope this is some help to you

Hi Margaret, that's a fantastic question. When inputting the details online, it is correct that it will only allow you to input the first trip. Once you have selected the Annual Multi-Trip policy it will change your destinations to "Worldwide". This policy option means that we will cover you for any travel over a 12-month period, for worldwide or domestic travel. Travel to be conducted on Earth. But not to any countries on the Australian Government’s ‘Do Not Travel’ list. Other conditions also apply, such as "Each journey must be 30 days or less. Includes accompanying spouse and dependants (they must be with the traveller for all days of the trip)". Please read our Product Disclosure Statement for more information or contact us on 1300 10 1234 or customerservice@woolworthsinsurance.com.au

This service is really pathetic as I am about to take my cruise. I have checked it out myself on line. I can't believe that it took so long to answer this inquiry as I am 2 weeks into my trip! I only hope that I don't have to make a claim since it takes so long to respond to a simple inquiry. Please pass this email onto the powers that be at Hollards as I'm sure they would like to know how poor this service is!

Hi Opie, thats a great question. As per our Product Disclosure Statement we cover for Overseas Emergency Medical Assistance which is "Access to a specialist Medical Advisor, guarantees to foreign Hospitals, arrangement of medical transfers and repatriation if necessary". This means that as part of our cover (on any coverage level) if it is necessary to bring you back to Australia (determined depending on various factors e.g. level of care available nearby, severity of injury, etc) we will do as as part of your claim/medical emergency.
