Do your Comprehensive policies automatically cover overseas cruising?
Good morning. Back before covid hit, we had booked our overseas trip to Europe and Thailand using my Platinium credit card but due to this it was put on hold and money was held in trust with Flight centre. We are pleased to be able to finally travel and I’m now asking if we are still covered or is there a timeframe on insurance cover. We leave 31/5/23. Thank you.

Thank you Jason but our insurance is complimentary as we paid for flights etc using Platinum card so Woolworths and/or Macquarie should still honour I presume.

Do cover for Covid when travelling overseas?
Hi Robert , Currently, Woolworths is not offering any travel insurance products. However, in the future, if we do return to selling this product you should review the applicable PDS to confirm all cover and exclusions under the policy before buying. My cruise just got cancelled that was leaving from Sydney on Monday. How do I go getting a refund on flights, parking, accommodation and the cruise? I have been tryin to call, but the line is busy (understandable)
I assume you have tried to cancel all that you can. If not then do that to try and reduce your losses. Being proactive should help with your insurance claim. 1. For the cruise it might depend on where it was going and which line. Cruise companies usually have an info page with cruises news/changes/cancellations/etc. Here is Princess cruises site (if it applies to you): external link (they have a voluntary pause in cruises for 60 days from 12/3/2020. Maybe others do too). 2. For flights, you might be able to cancel for a smaller fee, depending on what type of fare you bought. 3. For parking, if its at Sydney airport you can usually cancel as long as its a couple of days out, not sure about other facilities. 4. For accommodation, hopefully it is refundable. Otherwise, cancelling may incur a fee of the first night. Any after cruise accommodation should be cancelled, assuming you will not use it. For claiming, if you have Woolworth's travel insurance you can lodge a claim online and you should be able to do this with other insurers. Check the website for the company you insured through. However, you can only claim if you have a "cancel for any reason" option or your policy includes epidemic/pandemic inclusion. (Woolworth's travel insurance excludes these so won't pay if that is the reason you cancelled). It is still worth claiming as they may make an ex-Gratia payment (but this also depends on their good will and how early you took the insurance out) Good Luck
Update. Just noticed you indicated your cruise was cancelled. If that was by the cruise line then they should refund you but if you cancelled then probably not
Can Woolworths give you a credit note to use for a future trip if your trip has been cancelled
Might be best to email them and ask about that I don’t know. I’d reckon they would as it doesn’t really cost them to do it.

I do not understand why you cannot cancel my insurance when the airlines canceled the trip to China could have charged the cancellation fee but I only asked them to cancel the insurance and they do not answer my husband called 3 weeks ago and still nothing the group that was traveling with us took out other insurance and immediately returned the money TRVC 2001363291708

How do I get in contact with emergency assistance if I am overseas?
Steve within your insurance policy there is a 24 hour emergency number that you should enter into your mobile phone. If an accident occurs then use that number and you will be assisted from that point. I know we were greatly assisted and from the point of contact the stress levels really subsided.

I am thinking of taking out a Woolworths travel insurance policy for an upcoming trip to Thailand.
I will be departing on 20 November 2019 at which time I will be 79yrs and 11months old. Can I take out a policy ? (Refer PDS page 11 "...Cover not available for travelers more than 79 years old (at the time of Policy purchase)......" ) Thank you,
You should be okay because you will not have turned 80. Even at 79 & 11 months you are still in your 79th year. I found there price reasonable although when I made a claim for purse stolen they were slow and it took 3 emails which they claimed 2 weren't received even though they were all to the same address. But overall it was okay.

If you are visiting only Australian ports during Your cruise then at the time you purchase your policy you must specify Australian Cruise as your destination.
