Yes as in any jewellery shop,it does cost to get rings re:size..... I was in zamels Charlestown shop today and was told it would cost more then the silver ring was worth ...very fair and honest ...great staff and great prices for what I needed. I have visited many jewlery shops over the years and have been told it costs to re:size any piece of jewlery . I've had a gold bracelet re:sized ( only to break twice ( from competitor store) . I sure have. Im working with them right now because i sent them an email with all the info in regards to me being worthy to a refund which they rejected so it was back to fair trading to get involved. If you want some info on what to do let me know

Would like as much information as possible. My daughter has the Newyorker Engagement ring and has had terrible response from Zamels. We are about to go to office of fairtrading too....

I guys. I know your dealings were a few years ago but I have just contacted fair trading about Zamels and they can back with all this legal mumbo jumbo and fair trading has said they can’t help any more. What was your outcome?

Hi julia i applied for qcat which did cost around$100. I did all the paper work required and took it in to be signed by a jp. I got a telephone interview with zamels abmnd a mediator. Zamels was adament to me not being entitled to a rufund. I stood my grounds and said id take it to court what did i have to loose right i wasnt going to put up with them swapping their shitty jewellery. They finally agreed to refund me at the very end of the telephone conversation. They had a certain amont of time to pay it. Come the day it was due still no money i had to email them and threaten them to take them back to court if it wasnt paid by the end of the day wjich ish what they signed to agree. It was there at the end of the day Absolute dodgy company! Please fight it they are gettingaway with too much

Currently dealing with similar situation. My wife & I decided to up grade the wedding rings. Wife was over the moon, purchased a 9 diamond ring with 4 claws. Less than 6 months a diamond fell out. Took it back, they sent it away for inspection. Only to return with it’s not under warranty & it’s going to cost $400 to fix & repair. Also it is “customers fault for damage”. Had been refused repair by other jewellers. Claiming it is poorly designed & will continue to happen again. Don’t won’t to touch it. Recommended to take back to place of purchase. In the mix of it all now. Contacted, ACCC. I await to press submit for a fair trading complaint. Please if anyone has anything that can help my situation. Only if you tell us in what way it is broken. Otherwise, take it to a reputable jeweller like Wallace Bishop.
