It’s been a year and a half since we moved into our new home, and now feels like the right moment to share our journey with Kalwanu—from our initial conversations and building planning to construction phases, the handover process, and finally settling in.

When my wife and I decided to own our first property, we were filled with excitement and anticipation, along with many questions about who to build it with and how to proceed. This was just before the Covid lockdown was announced.

We conducted extensive checks on various builders and read numerous customer reviews. We didn’t want a builder with predefined floor plans because we had specific ideas for our floor plan. Thus, we narrowed our search to builders who support custom builds.

Eventually, we shortlisted three builders, including Kalwanu Constructions. The initial interactions with the other two builders were purely business-minded and didn’t align with our expectations. However, our first interaction with Kalwanu was different. They showed immense patience in listening to our requirements and provided practical, fact-based solutions. This first impression played a major role in our decision to engage in deeper discussions with Kalwanu.

We signed the contract with Kalwanu and began the construction of our dream house.

It’s important to note the challenging circumstances during construction: Covid lockdowns, timber shortages, six weeks of continuous rain, and labor constraints. Despite these challenges, they kept us constantly updated on realistic completion dates.

Although we had our share of agreements and disagreements, the team’s willingness to listen to us and respond to our calls daily made a big difference. Unlike some friends and colleagues who struggled to get responses from their construction teams, we felt fortunate that Kalwanu always addressed our concerns promptly.

Our site supervisors were crucial during the entire construction process. Despite my blunt assessments regarding timelines, they always responded politely and took positive action. Over time, we developed a strong and positive relationship.

After overcoming various challenges, our house was completed and handed over to us.

Major callouts: - The entire Kalwanu crew are extremely professional and patient. - Correspondence and responses were timely. - The contractors they hire are highly skilled. - The workmanship is of high standards. - They do not cut corners; instead, they discuss technical issues and provide solutions. - The materials used are of high quality and discussed in detail at each construction phase.

Importantly, Kalwanu continues to support us even after handover. The Site supervisor checks in regularly to ensure everything is fine and promptly addresses any minor issues we have.
