through construction, selections, finishing and handover—I can confidently say that choosing AusDream was one of the best decisions I made for our home.

From the beginning, what impressed me most was their willingness to listen to what I actually wanted rather than simply trying to fit my ideas into a standard project-home design. I had a very particular vision for the house. I wanted something modern, spacious and premium, but at the same time practical for our family and designed around the way we live. There were many custom elements, details and changes along the way, and the AusDream team worked closely with me to turn those ideas into a finished home.

Quality of construction

For me, the most important consideration when choosing a builder was quality. A beautiful design means very little if the construction and workmanship behind it aren't equally good.

Throughout the build, I was impressed by the attention given to the structure, workmanship and finishing. AusDream didn't make me feel that I had to accept something simply because it was "within tolerance" or "good enough". Whenever I raised a question or wanted something looked at, the team was prepared to discuss it and find a practical solution.

The finished home has the solid, premium feel I was looking for. From the overall construction through to the internal finishes, cabinetry, tiling, electrical work, lighting and detailing, there is a noticeable level of care throughout the house.

A genuinely customised home

One of AusDream's biggest strengths is their flexibility.

This wasn't a situation where I selected a standard floor plan, changed a few colours and called it a custom home. I was personally very involved in the design and wanted to incorporate a number of ideas that were important to me and my family.

There were plenty of discussions along the way—some ideas were straightforward, while others required more thought and problem-solving. I appreciated that the team didn't immediately say "no" when something was outside the ordinary. Instead, we would discuss what I was trying to achieve and work through how it could realistically be incorporated.

That collaborative approach made a huge difference. The result feels like our home, rather than simply another house built from a catalogue.

Communication and dealing with issues

Anyone who has built a house knows that a construction project of this size will have challenges and decisions along the way. I don't believe a realistic review should pretend otherwise.

What matters is how the builder responds when something needs attention.

This is an area where I had a positive experience with AusDream. I was a very involved client and probably asked more questions than the average homeowner. When I wasn't satisfied with something, I said so. When I wanted clarification, I asked for it. The team remained approachable and worked with me to resolve matters rather than becoming defensive or disappearing once construction was underway.

That accountability was extremely important to me.

Value for money

When building a premium home, it is easy for costs to escalate quickly. My focus wasn't simply on finding the cheapest builder; I wanted to achieve the right balance between design, construction quality, inclusions and overall value.

Looking at the finished result, I believe AusDream delivered excellent value for the level of home we created.

More importantly, I never felt that the objective was simply to build the house as quickly as possible and move on to the next project. There was genuine pride in delivering a home that both the builder and homeowner could be proud of.

Local builder with a personal approach

Another thing I appreciated was dealing with a builder where the relationship still felt personal.

With a home of this scale, you are trusting a company with a significant investment and something your family may live in for many years. Being able to have real conversations, discuss ideas and speak openly when something needed attention gave me much more confidence throughout the process.

AusDream has also been a long-term supporter of our local community, including supporting the Macarthur Region Nepalese Community and its Teej celebrations for several years. As someone actively involved in our community, I value businesses that don't simply operate locally but also contribute back to the communities that support them.

The final result

The best compliment I can give AusDream is that the finished house reflects the vision I had when we started the journey.

There is a huge difference between looking at drawings and selections on paper and eventually walking through the completed home. Seeing all those individual decisions come together into one finished house was incredibly satisfying.

Friends, family and visitors regularly comment on the design, space and overall finish of the home, and I'm genuinely proud of what we created together.

Building a home is a major financial and emotional commitment, and choosing the right builder is probably the most important decision in that process.

cornice crack - nothing else has shifted or moved in any way - a reflection of the quality of work they do. All of the fixtures and hardware is great - high quality in all the fitout - I know they are a slightly pricier builder, but you really do get what you have paid for. Right from the initial conversation with Jason I felt comfortable they knew what they were doing. Went through a couple of design changes (wider house to suit the block, and a bigger garage - both no dramas, drawings provided to show how it would all sit on the block, council permits sorted and minor adjustment to suit council request. They had Interior Designers help with colour and materials selection - a great help to be sure it would all look great. Build time was 11 months - the communication throughout the build was really good - the app to keep track of what was happening is really useful to see how it is progressing, tho a couple of things did get delayed but they shuffled things around and just did other works instead. after all these years I still look at the home they created with absolute appreciation. What began as a modest single storey, two bedroom, one bathroom home became a beautifully designed double storey residence with five bedrooms, a study, and 2.5 bathrooms. The workmanship was exceptional, and every person involved in the build was professional, respectful, and easy to communicate with. I was kept informed step by step throughout the entire process, which made the experience smooth and stress free. Recently, I needed to obtain information about the original build, and I contacted the office for assistance. This is where Angela B., the Office Manager, truly shone. Angela was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely committed to helping me. Despite the age of the project, she went above and beyond - locating my job in their old handwritten sales register I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Dannie K, who worked alongside Angela. Together, they were even able to retrieve the payment records from their archived database. I am deeply grateful for the time, care, and attention they dedicated to retrieving these documents, especially given the limitations of records from over two decades ago. The information they provided has already been extremely helpful. More interested in covering themselves than fixing the problem – Less than 6 years after having my property built, water leaks appeared in the walls around both bathroom showers. I immediately raised this issue… Read more

with Davrose and they told me they needed a leak detection report.

The leak detection report was expensive and unfortunately did not identify the root cause of the leaks.

As Davrose had insisted I needed proof of the water leak… and the damage to the walls was not enough… and because the leak detection report didn’t show the root cause of the leak… and the damage would not abate, I felt I had no choice but to engage a contractor myself.

After finally getting rid of a tenant who wouldn’t let any tradespeople in the house or pay their rent, I contracted a waterproofing specialist.

When the specialists stripped back the shower tiles, they immediately identified 4 installation defects: 1. no polyurethane caulking compound installed to the bottom shower walls onto the lip of the shower base 2. no polyester flexible bandage installed to the bottom of the shower walls to the top of the shower base 3. the liquid membrane that was applied was very thin and … had no primer applied first 4. should of been two coats of liquid membrane applied with primer, which in this case has not happened

The installation had not been completed correctly and the waterproofing had failed causing leaks that had progressively gotten worse.

I needed to get the property water leaks and damage fixed as quickly as possible, so I had the contractors take photos of the issues, as proof of the problem, and complete the work.

When I presented the evidence to Davrose, they were quick to dismiss themselves from the situation. I was informed that the product was now out of warranty even though I had initially raised the problem within the warranty period. They seemed more interested in proving why they were absolved of any responsibility than to provide honest customer service.

There was never any attempt by Davrose to investigate the situation. I tried to have Davrose take at least some responsibility for this. Perhaps to contribute something towards the losses that was identified to be defective workmanship upon installation. But again, I was quickly informed that the product was out of warranty.

The years I had to live with this, watching my property deteriorate as the water damage continued, coupled with a tenant from hell and a builder who wouldn’t help, I ended up with lots of stressful moments and a very hefty bill.

I‘d like to warn others to perhaps be more assertive than I was along the way, especially if you encounter the same problem.

Everyone is lying in their office, and good luck communicating with them. No one replies to any emails or calls.

After the handover, we sent a three-month maintenance report in March and have been trying to establish a clear communication line with someone from their office since then. No one replies to any emails, and every time we call the office, there is no one available to talk to except for the reception staff, who have no clue what they are doing. Faz and he assisted me in acheiving what I was wanted changed, He was helpful and compromising and presented some good suggestions. Some minor changes were done without any extra fees (which Builders can charge). There were times that he wasn't liking something and he would call me to discuus it and I appreciated this because most of the time (this monor amendment) he was right and it now looks better than the Plans.Some changes couldn't be done as they were structural and would have required an Engineers Report etc, and I understood this. I am still building (almost there) and have been extremely happy with the progress and time frame. It's almost done(March 2026) and ahead of schedule. If I was to build again, I would definately give Faz a call:- no hesitation.

The minor modifications in floor plans, which started in late March 2024, was finalised on the 10th of May! The updated drawing was emailed to me on the 25th July! Tender was updated upon my request after two weeks! They started to communicate with me again in October to proceed to the next stage!
