The team made sure we understood every detail of the contract and they worked with us patiently to refine and vary items until the final package sat comfortably within our budget. Our Colour Selection Consultant was another highlight. She had an exceptional understanding of the product range and quickly grasped the style we were aiming for. Felicity will keep you well updated along the way, makes sure you are well organised so there are no hold ups and is always happy to give her professional opinion on colours, tiles, etc. Deano is the most easy going builder to talk too. If you have an idea he will do his best to make it work for you. He is also willing to add in some suggestions that may save you some money or to create the look you want. They have a great bunch of builders with whom you can have a laugh, but they are highly professional on the job. However when Diana took the supervision of construction since mid of March 2024, she was able to complete the house nearly from lockup stage to handover in 3 months. The biggest thing for us though was the week to week up dates from him and the open communication with the time frames he gave us. At the start of the process, the sales representative provided a clear introduction to the company—its values and the building materials used—reinforcing their focus on delivering a long-lasting home. It’s been a year and a half since we moved into our new home, and now feels like the right moment to share our journey with Kalwanu—from our initial conversations and building planning to construction phases, the handover process, and finally settling in.

When my wife and I decided to own our first property, we were filled with excitement and anticipation, along with many questions about who to build it with and how to proceed. This was just before the Covid lockdown was announced.

We conducted extensive checks on various builders and read numerous customer reviews. We didn’t want a builder with predefined floor plans because we had specific ideas for our floor plan. Thus, we narrowed our search to builders who support custom builds.

Eventually, we shortlisted three builders, including Kalwanu Constructions. The initial interactions with the other two builders were purely business-minded and didn’t align with our expectations. However, our first interaction with Kalwanu was different. They showed immense patience in listening to our requirements and provided practical, fact-based solutions. This first impression played a major role in our decision to engage in deeper discussions with Kalwanu.

We signed the contract with Kalwanu and began the construction of our dream house.

It’s important to note the challenging circumstances during construction: Covid lockdowns, timber shortages, six weeks of continuous rain, and labor constraints. Despite these challenges, they kept us constantly updated on realistic completion dates.

Although we had our share of agreements and disagreements, the team’s willingness to listen to us and respond to our calls daily made a big difference. Unlike some friends and colleagues who struggled to get responses from their construction teams, we felt fortunate that Kalwanu always addressed our concerns promptly.

Our site supervisors were crucial during the entire construction process. Despite my blunt assessments regarding timelines, they always responded politely and took positive action. Over time, we developed a strong and positive relationship.

After overcoming various challenges, our house was completed and handed over to us.

Major callouts: - The entire Kalwanu crew are extremely professional and patient. - Correspondence and responses were timely. - The contractors they hire are highly skilled. - The workmanship is of high standards. - They do not cut corners; instead, they discuss technical issues and provide solutions. - The materials used are of high quality and discussed in detail at each construction phase.

Importantly, Kalwanu continues to support us even after handover. The Site supervisor checks in regularly to ensure everything is fine and promptly addresses any minor issues we have.

They did not bother even to responded. Be careful buying the building lot from Peet developers as they do not provide what you are paying for. They do not give you the option to exclude fencing and landscaping form the contract, but they do not deliver.
