It got sent in for repairs under warranty and probably lasted about 6 months before it all started again. I had incorrectly blamed the Navman product as being faulty. As it turns out after many years and with the help of the Navman team the problem all stems from the professional installation team at Autobarn. My sincere apologies to Navman.

Use the correct 128Gb card – Easy to set up. Had trouble with the SD cards for a while then found out it didn't like the particular 128Gb card. Navman provided a list of compatible cards so it all works well and it seems to be a good little camera. Show details

reset it. The other thing it does is not connecting to wifi to down load. Downloading times are so excruciatingly slow, it’s painful. The most annoying thing is thinking it’s recording when it’s not. I paid over $500 for it. I would not recommend at all. It’s not reliable.

see number plates especially with the 4K surround model. There is a few negatives though, but image quality is 90% of what matters to a dash camera. This camera comes with no instructions and is one of the most complicated cameras I've had to set up. There are only 4 SD cards that Navman recommends you use with this camera and they are all hard to find and expensive. The screen is terrible . Connecting to the App is ridicules, requiring you to scan an code and set up the connection every time. The screen sits flat on the window , angling it down at the floor, the PC app never works so you have to use third party software to view images.

additional purchase of a specified SD card. This is not disclosed on the packaging. The unit in order to function with it's advertised parking collision function requires the purchase of an additional wiring loom. Again not disclosed. The unit fails in function. It starts operating when you enter the car but then turns off when the ignition is started. It requires manual reactivation every time if you remember! I have had excellent Navman products in the past. This is not up to their standard.

mind would design a dash cam that has the power cord facing up seems ridiculous to me. The screen is small but will see how the footage is, if it’s clear or not looks grainy so far. The 5 stickers for holding the power cord tidy out of the way is a token gesture of complete uselessness.

camera alerts keep sounding where there are no speed cameras. i dont really want the school zone alerts, but i want the camera alerts. the only way to turn off the school alerts is to turn off the camera alerts as well. now a few days later i returned the camera for an exchange, the new camera is exactly the same, today i drove through approximately 15 school zones. not one of those school zones did the camera alert me accurately, one of them not at all. there is still safety camera alerts going off where there are no red light or speed cameras, marion st bankstown 3 times in 200 meters of road where there are no cameras. to me the alerts are useless. i called navman today they said they dont do the camera alerts they are done by a third party,

Absolute garbage. It always lets me down when I need it the most. It randomly shuts off and produces corrupted files. I almost got into an accident and I wanted to check the other car's registration only to find out it wasn't even recording at all.

Undecided – Navman replaced the faulty unit. Thank you. I hope this one works properly. Will see if I have a problem with the gps? Can only see if this unit is better. Show details

infuriating. The connection sequence required to get it to connect requires a PhD in technology systems and even then the connection will randomly drop out requiring the setup sequence to be run again. It is easily a 20-30minute ordeal to extract a video or to change a simple setting (such as, the sensitivity of event recording) in the DC. Please buy with caution. Navman please fix this abomination of a system you have to connect this DC to a smart phone.

Delear). I have perserved with this for a couple of years - Replace SD cards constantly (I buy multiples at a time - and they wotk perfectly in my other car - BlackVue). I have updated the firmware (now running the latest) - I can't get Liveview to work (check camera placement). It has multiple warnings, lane assit (which requires 2 people to setup). It's mobile camera warning is useless - you can be on a motorway doing 100, but if the camera is on a side street, you get the riminder that the Speed camera is for 60kph. I've had 2 other brands (2 x Blackvue and 1 VW factory unit) all no issues - probably go through SD cards every 12 months, but acceptable given the hasrs enviroment - this unit spits the dummy in that many days. Check the card it's ok.

If you do need to pull info off the device, just remove the SD card and plug it into a computer. Trying to get stuff off the app is painful.
