had changed hands but took a gamble. I received a reasonable quote from [Name Removed] to do some simple storm damage repairs in Karana Downs but he didn’t quote for some work he would outsource. He invoiced for the quoted work despite a two week pause in the middle of the job. I paid the invoice to discover he hadn’t completed the quoted work. He wouldn’t respond to texts and now he has blocked me. Don’t waste time on these guys, shonky as.

Quote process was ridiculous – Not happy with the quote process. 1. Phone call at 8.15am Monday morning is just a tad early. 2. I book in time for a quote at 1pm Tuesday. I had to… Read more

rearrange my work schedule to accommodate this time. 3. My whole morning is aligned to this 1pm time, I’m juggling work and kids. 4. 5 missed calls starting from 11.45pm. I was on a work call and I kept being interrupted by this business to the point that my work call was cut off! 5. Then off my work call I see a message advising person coming just after 2pm when appointment was 1pm. 6. I confirmed that time was fine and expressed dissatisfaction that I had planned my whole day around a 1pm appointment! 7. Then I get another phone call! That’s when I said enough is enough I do t need this hassle of just getting a quote! If you are employing some business to help with appointment setting and Google search ads please rethink this approach. What a hassle just to get a quote. I can’t image the hassle of completing the job!

quotes and smooth talking may seem appealing, but don’t be fooled!

Within just a few days or months, you’ll start to see the true quality of their work, and it’s far from impressive. What you’ll get is the ugliest outcome, leaving you to pay even more to hire a professional to fix the mess.

Attached are the photos taken three months after his work—please notice the leveling of the grass and wood! While they may showcase photos and videos of seemingly well-done projects, I’ve reached out to several others who have had similar experiences, and they are equally dissatisfied. Every piece of work done feels like it was completed by someone who learned from YouTube rather than by a skilled professional.

Don’t waste your hard-earned money! Proceed with caution if you’re considering hiring them.

I am very happy with the job Jarod did for me which involved dismantling the pine bed and removing the legs, cutting them to the height I wanted even though he suggested something different. Thanks Jarod. I believe Jarod works between Mandurah and Bunbury. I can highly recommend this tradie!!!

EXPENSIVE FOR AVERAGE JOB – I had two pieces of cornice fall off from a corner in the kitchen - the total length would have been less than 1m. Both pieces were undamaged, and… Read more

only had to be re-affixed. Found Wayne the Handyman on a local website. He did quote a price of $300 to put them back which I thought was expensive, but I needed the job done. He turned up on on time as agreed, and completed the job within an hour just by nailing back the cornice lengths and adding a bit of plaster. So for the $300 I got a few nails and a bit of plaster, and as he lived close, no travelling expenses - really it was all "labour" for one hour. The job itself was average and will need sanding and painting He did adjust a back door hinge which took 10 minutes.

I say it was expensive as I've had a qualified electrician (and his apprentice) install a ceiling fan and replace a light switch for $160 labour for one hour, and a plumber replace laundry taps for $120 labour for one hour.

DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY TO DO ANY HANDYMAN WORK EVER. I contacted [Name Removed] from Jason’s Handyman Services for a quote to erect and paint a… Read more

pergola on 12th September 2025, I provided him a picture of what the finished pergola should look like when completed. I told [Name Removed] that I would buy a pergola kit from Bunnings so all he had to do was assemble it and paint it as the picture showed.

He quoted me $1200 plus gst to do the job, [Name Removed] said that this amount was for labour of 2 people, paint in colour of my choice, dyna bolting pergola to the existing concrete and levelling packers to ensure the pergola is level. He also said that he would do the job on weekends as he worked in Portarlington during the week. I agreed to the above price that he quoted.

On 28 September I informed him when the pergola kit had been delivered and asked him if he wanted to come and have a look at the job but he said he didn't have time and it wouldn’t be a problem.

On the 12th October [Name Removed] and one of his friends came to start the job of assembling the pergola, they managed get the pergola assembled and then left saying he now needed to buy a special undercoat as the pergola had been treated with some coating. I was a bit confused as to why he wouldn’t have used undercoat anyhow and when I asked him about it, he stated that he never uses undercoat for any of his work. He informed me that the undercoat paint was $80 to purchase.

On the 19th October he came back to level the pergola which and dyna bolt it to the ground. He also commenced the painting of the undercoat. On that day he then informed me that it would cost me another $300-$400 more as he could not complete the job in the 2 days he had allocated. I told him that I would not pay the extra as it was not my fault that he underestimated how long it would take and the fact that he came alone in the 2nd day, even though I was quoted labour for 2 people.

On the 6th December [Name Removed] came back to paint the rest of the undercoat, [Name Removed] then asked me for payment in full even though he had not completed the job. I did not want to pay him as the job was still to be completed so I said I would pay him half of the money at that point and then pay the rest on completion if the job to my satisfaction. He then question my integrity by saying that it said more about me than him as he had every intention to complete the job.

I reluctantly paid him the full amount even the gst against my better judgement, and then the day that he was meant to come and apply the final coat of paint and finish the job he cancelled that morning after I contacted him and said that he had to reschedule another time. I left it 2 weeks as this was the Christmas, new year period and I knew everyone was on holidays.

I rang him on the 12th January and my call went straight to message bank which I thought was strange but was unaware that this meant he blocked my number. I tried calling again the next day and again my call went to message bank this is when I realised I was blocked and couldn’t call him. He also removed me off his social media and changed his name on social media so couldn’t find him. [Name Removed] left my pergola in undercoat and is not level at all. I now have a half finished job which will have to be completed by someone else.

[Name Removed] has no trade qualifications or trade background he was a salesman in his prior occupation and now claims to be a handyman. He is lazy and would never turn up on time so no wonder he couldn’t finish the job in his required timeframe and does very poor quality work.

People learn from my bad experience with this LOW LIFE and DO NOT HIRE HIM

heard about a referral site for female tradies and thought that would be great. I spoke with [Name Removed], she seemed great, we discussed cost, she told me the hourly rate was $90, assured me they weren't a budget service they were a good service, and that she would send me a full quote. Things progressed, she wanted a lot of detail about the jobs, I provided it, a new powerpoint was needed, she organised an electrician, a male one, but he was fine, but then the date for the rest of the work got juggled around a bit, and the night before it was finally supposed to happen, I reminded her that she hadn't sent me the quote. I'm not going to put the list of jobs here, but they included fitting a wall clothesline and adjusting a cupboard space for make way for a dishwasher and a few other things including installing a tastic. She sent me the quote, told me that it was a lot of work and it would take two people the whole day to get it done, plus she had include a plumber to install the dishwasher (and yes, she had been there and seen that it only needed to be connected, no plumbing work required). The quote was $3500, I immediately contacted her and cancelled the job. She was disappointed because she had put a lot of effort into it (she did, all those extra costs must have taken her ages) and again reminded me that they weren't a budget service. She then sent me a bill for the electrician who installed a powerpoint, $390. I had to chase her for the CoES, she provided it about three weeks later with the wrong dates on it. I've paid it, but since then I've had another electrician in, who charged $187, sent the invoice and the CoES on the same day, and another handy person, who in six hours, on his own, did all of the odd jobs, and even repainted the side of a door that he had shaved back (didn't even ask him to do that). He charged $1400. Neither of these providers were budget, both turned up when they said they would, both did an excellent job, neither tried to reem me. If you are using Handy People, make sure you get the quote up front, or be ready to pay double. Beware, I've a feeling that she thought someone who would use a female service would be too stupid to know they were being overcharged, which doesn't say a lot for the organisation she is affiliated with.
