Read moreollowing morning at a cost of up to $17K. He asked her to provide an on the spot deposit for $2.5K. he also advised that her toilet needed to be fixed.
-with such little time it was by pure chance that my sister found out about it that same night. The cost seemed excessive, the urgency suspicious and some of their sales tactics seemed unethical to us. My mother agreed.
-it then took about 6 phone calls to cancel the job
-a second plumber we engaged subsequently said that the work didn’t need to be done for the foreseeable future, that he would charge roughly half of what they charged for the work if it was needed and also that the toilet didn’t need to be fixed
-Adam and co. stayed so long at my mother’s house in preparing the quote that she felt ill and had to ask him to leave so she could lie down. (It didn’t appear as though he was working on the quote for at least some of that time and I think its likely that the long time spent was a sales tactic designed to make my mother feel more obligated to allow him to do the work)
-Adam promised my mother he would refund the deposit, but it took a large number of calls and promises that were not kept from 3 more people and a whole month before she received a refund. (I believe all of this was habitual and deliberate, hoping that we would simply give up.)
PlumbFirst is owned by HomeFirstServices and I will be staying away from both!

The drains in my house were bubbling and gurgling and they cleared it right out with the drain machine. I haven't had a problem since. A honest plumbing service - who knew such a thing existed?I reached out to the owner, Russel, to discuss a problem I was having with my HWU. He offered a solution and arranged for one of his contractors to attend my home the next day. Andre arrived promptly at the time arranged with... Read more the part required to replace the part Russel suggested may be causing the issues. Andre first checked the issue and inspected the existing part. Having found that the part could do with a decent clean he offered to first clean the part to see whether it would make any difference before replacing it with the new part. He did exactly that and retested and we found that the problem was resolved. Throughout, Andre kept me apprised of what he was doing, and why, and made sure that I was happy with the result. If it had been any other business the contractor would have replaced the part and charged me accordingly and I would have been none the wiser. I have never come across such honest service and wish to highly recommend Russel and his team for their integrity and honesty. It is a scarce commodity in this day and age and one I highly value.

Hot water service replacementLuke and James replaced our old Hot Water Heater which was starting to leak. Disconnected and disposed of old unit. Put down small reinforced slab then topped with ready made slab. Fixed all mistakes of previous two installers.Looks great now.Price was very reasonable for work done. Can’t recommend them enough.

I emailed Thermann on Sunday and was surprised to receive an email back from Josh early this morning. Surprise… Read more · 1d as it was a small issue and the response was so prompt. Josh went out of his way to help me which involved a number of emails in which he included a photo of the panel (not included in the User’s Guide which I had downloaded the day before). As a result I realised the panel had been put back upside down and was stuck. With Josh’s guidance I was able to force the panel open and I now have hot water and have saved a lot of money.

Beware of the plumbers from 1st Choice hot waterI bought my unit from Ist Choice and had it installed by Ist Choice Hot Water. Soon after it had a leak and they sent someone out to fix it. Two and a bit years later it had two leaks. One one the release valve and one in ... Read morethe pipe fittings. My plumber said the fitting in the release valve wasn't great quality and certainly not one he'd use. Apparently they should last at least 5 years but they usually last a lot longer. On the second leak he said the pipe had been cut too short so that it would fit in easily. It should have been cut longer, the adjoining pipe undone so that it could be fitted in and then the nut refitted. Maybe a couple of minutes extra time. Pure laziness he said. So my initial installation cost of $675 has had to have my plumbers cost of $389 added to it. Beware the plumbers from 1st Choice.

Avoid!!!Do NOT do business with these guys. Their website falsely claims 5 star google reviews. We hired PDG to install drainage in the garden. It was not cheap!! We trusted the relatively small job to be done to quality standard. In... Read morestead, they skimped on drainage gravel in our clay soil, heaping as much as 25cm onto the ag pipe, and only 1-2 cm of gravel on the pipe. Rain proved it does not catch the surface water and drain away properly, which we said was the problem to fix. Additionally, they damaged a tree (two branches torn off) and garden beds (one is so bent we have to discard it), and a terracotta pot on their way out with the small excavator, trying to hide this fact from us (we were not home). The broken pot was nowhere to find, the contents hidden in a bush. They then pressured us to pay within the hour of receiving invoice without having seen the site, stating “they don’t understand what we are going on about”. Also some bags of our Blue Metal gravel for another project went missing, the other 4 bags ripped. They are not responding to any of our calls or emails so the “workmanship warranty” is useless. Complaint with Fair stranding has been lodged. We can’t trust any tradies due to people like these. Would give zero stars if I could!!!

Slow, unfinished work and way overpricedTerrible service they turned up late every day and left early and the short time they were there they were in the phone a lot, they left a lot little things unfinished and promised to come back to do them but never did and charged me around $3000 more than quoted, ABSOLUTELY USELESS AND A RIP OFF STAY AWAY FROM THESE IDIOTS

I AGREE - I had a system installed 1 months ago which has never performe... Read mored properly because, as I discovered 3 days after installation, part of the centre of the evaporator coil (the part facing the wall) has been stoved in damaging the fins and pipes within, which is where the whole coil starts to frost up each day. I called Sanden to tell them of the problem, but they just said to deal with the installer. Further Sanden said that their units leave the warehouse in "pristine" condition. A month later and many emails back and forth and the installer just says they will come and comb the fins out. No way will they replace the unit as the "problem is just cosmetic". I guess it is my fault for making final payment before a full inspection and testing of the system, espacially the side you don't see facing the wall.

And I made clear that the Tap is working perfectly and [Name Removed] does not need to come to the site for the report. she then advised that she still needed [Name Removed] to check the site for the purpose of report at no cost. This morning [Name Removed] came and missed me, i called back, advised [Name Removed] that I only expected [Name Removed] as the lady from last week who insisted for site check which is not necessary. I asked if that was you. [Name Removed] said that could be any one in the office. I tried to explain my last week conversation. She started talking over while i tried to explain. She said it was her arranged for today site visit. I concern of having [Name Removed] to check things that i did not ask for, like water pressure, then job for pressure valve installation. As i could not get my concern through to her, instead, talking over me, i asked if i could speak to the manager or the business owner to have better understanding of my needs. This arrangement of the site visit is not fully understood. [Name Removed] seems having the attitude talking over as i was trying to get my points through. She said that the manager is busy. I then asked further If the manager can call me before Friday if not today. [Name Removed] then insist that i must request this via email. Interesting though - Do O'Brien's have a deal/contract with the insurance companies where they try to upsell? I was asked if I wanted to have my windscreen wipers and the air vent changed. My husband had his windscreen replaced here 2 months ago and was asked the exact same thing. We didn't take up this 'offer/opportunity' as the wipers did not need changing. I would've expected some transparency about this. Maybe they we being honest?? I dunno.
