Cigweld Power Tools
Not happy with the previously advertised “manual” Mig weld mode.. I wanted separate wire speed, separate amp setting and separate voltage setting but it will not do it. If I’m wrong, maybe the manufacturer can let me know why. Show details
Great after sales (and after warrantee) service – I bought one of these in 2021. It has worked really well for me. I have used it quite a bit with both flux core and solid wire. I had to put new… Read more
wire in yesterday and when I finished the wire wouldn't feed. I checked the manual and watched the how to video online with no luck.
Today I found an email address for CIGWeld enquiries and sent a message describing the issue. 5 hours later I got a reply suggesting a setting that may be wrong. I checked and found that the setting was wrong, corrected it and it is working again. The machine is out of warrantee. I wasn't optimistic when I sent the email. I am very happy with the afters sales service I received.

which could not be repaired. The service that I received from both Total Tools in Albury and the Cigweld Technical team was excellent and although the welder was just out of warranty they agreed to replace the unit with a brand new one. Thank you to your teams to back up what is in my experience a very good product.

all-in-one machine for general welding tasks. It’s many years since I last used welding equipment (I went through a 4 year Engineering apprenticeship after leaving school, but that was a long time ago), and these modern all-in-one sets are almost fool-proof!

expectations in more ways than one.
Pros: Versatility: The ability to weld both Stick and TIG, combined with its AC/DC functionality, opens up a wide array of welding possibilities. It handles aluminum like a dream, making it a go-to choice for diverse welding projects. Compact and Lightweight: Its portability is a standout feature. Moving it around the workshop or taking it to different job sites is a breeze. It's a heavyweight performer in a lightweight body. User-Friendly Interface: The controls and digital display are a novice welder's dream. The clarity and simplicity make using this machine a straightforward experience. Even as a beginner, I found it easy to grasp and operate. Adaptable Power Source: The fact that it works off a standard 10-amp household plug without compromising on performance is a significant advantage. It's suitable for most applications, making it incredibly convenient for a wide range of users. Exceptional Torch Design: The inclusion of the number 26 torch with a flexible neck is a brilliant addition. It offers maneuverability and ease of use, making welding in tight or awkward spaces a hassle-free experience. Reasonable Pricing: For the features and performance it offers, the price is incredibly competitive. It's a steal for the capabilities it brings to the table.
Cons: Unfortunately, my experience with the Cigweld 180 AC/DC Welder has been so positive that I struggle to find any significant negatives to report. However, it's worth noting that I haven't used a similar machine for comparison, so I can't offer a comparative analysis.
Overall Impression: For both novice welders and seasoned tradespeople looking for a reliable, versatile welding machine, the Cigweld 180 AC/DC is an absolute gem. It's more than capable of handling various welding tasks, and its user-friendly design makes it a top choice. It's a rare find in the welding world, combining performance, ease of use, and affordability. If you're in the market for a welding machine that's efficient, versatile, and won't break the bank, this is the one.
Good price good welder excellent for site – Works well no troubles seems to out preform other brands in the price range like the unimig the boss bought! Can't go past cig weld thats for sure and the truth Show details

Very disappointing – Bought this welder thinking CIG gear would be good quality. But after very little use (on only it's 2nd small roll of wire) it will no longer weld.… Read more
It feeds wire but there is only a very feeble arc-barely sufficient to melt the wire and nowhere near enough to weld. I suspect there is a major issue with the internal electrics. My suggestion is DO NOT BUY.
This is an awesome machine. Super easy to set up and use, and great value for money. Perfect for DIY and home welding use, this one is worth investing in. Show details

you need of them every time. I turned this way down to 25amp and it blew through the metal I tested it on like butter. I always buy my tools larger than I need because the odd time you need to get through something big you never regret it, plus the fact the duty cycle is much better with higher performing units. For example, this is meant to cut at 100% at around 30amps, which is way more than enough for probably 95% of your work. Keep that in mind if you were going for the less powerful unit. The guide on the tip ensures you don't touch the metal and ruin it, great idea and just makes it so easy to use, drag it along and you are guaranteed the tip is the perfect distance to what you are cutting. My air compressor has a water filter on it plus this unit has too so that should keep the moisture down. I'm happy, I certainly recommend this unit, you do get what you pay for.
The LCD control failed just after warranty expired, initially poor customer service from BOC New Zealand. After contact with Cigweld directly this was resolved with an excellent outcome.
Easy cut – Very easy machine to set up and use, was a cheap plasma cutter & all of my mates use it more than I do. I got it from Burson auto parts.
Perfect little machine – A great machine strong enough to do any little job there is to do and light enough to even carry it with u up a ladder would recommend for any person that's looking to do odd jobs or maintenance around the house
Very easy to use for this novice – It's my first mig welder, love it, so much I purchased theTig set up to compliment the mig. With the easy guide inside the side flap awesome. From two to ten mil, it's a breeze. Show details

replaced another brand which claimed to have same performance, yet would only cut clean up to 8 mm mild steel, very surprised and pleased with the cut 60 performance, I am a boilermaker welder, with our own irrigation design/ installation business. Have used the cut 60 on variety of fabrication / fittings modifications. Exceeds expectations, especially after experience with the other brand plasma, 15 amp plug, well suited to light fabrication shops, farm or home workshop use. Well worth the cost.

This thing packs a real punch when you need it, but isn't too big to dial right back down for the small stuff – Have several other Cigweld units - Weldskill 135 MIG, Weldskill 185 MIG/TIG/Stick and a Weldskill 200 AC/DC TIG. Wanted a larger MIG (more amps /… Read more
duty cycle) than my Weldskill 185 for heavier fabrication in 5mm to 10mm mild steel, and also something that would get me into the bottom end of spray. Settled on the Transmig 255i as can run up to 30V, where as my current Weldskill 185 will only do 25V max. This seemed like the best option for me (still single phase 15A and an inverter so it's still light/mobile) - really packs a punch when you need it, so very happy so far. Haven't investigated the upgrade to the 25A plug/lead input lead to get the duty cycle up from 20% to 40%, but great to have this as an option if needed.
I didn't really like the push on Tweco nozzle it came with, found it moved everytime you bumped it, so swappped over to a screw on type which was quick/easy/cheap and now it works great. The torch body itself is good otherwise. The only other small downside is mine only came with a 3m torch lead which is pretty short and I really wish it had a 4m long one which would give you a lot more versatility in moving around the job you're welding, particularly for the bigger work sections you're typically doing with a big grunty welder like this. Ironically the earth lead it comes with is comes with is 4m, strange that they don't also supply it with a 4m torch lead to match. I'll have to look at upgrading the lead from 3m to 4m when I get a chance.
Apart from those two minor downsides this is an awesome unit and I'm proud to own another Cigweld product. Haven't tried out the lift TIG on this machine yet, but assume it works well on mild steel - it certainly does the job on my Weldskill 185. Final small note is when I've needed some more specialised spare parts for some of my other Cigweld machines, the Cigweld team (I think in Melbourne) have been very knowledgeable and happy to help out in getting me what I needed quickly and at a very reasonable price - not sure if that support is available from other manufacturers. Keep up the good work.
