because I intended to cancel. Since I had not cancelled before the renewal date, I paid the annual fee. Since then, MYOB has also charged me for a monthly subscription for the same software service. For 3 months now, I have been trying to get MYOB support to tell me if I am on a monthly or annual subscription and to refund the excess subscription fees it has charged. MYOB has repeatedly promised to refund the annual fee but has not done so. Despite repeated support calls with very long waits, and detailed letters, I cannot get a useful response from MYOB about when and how the problem will be resolved. They talk about a need to update their systems to handle old invoices but nothing about actually fixing the problem. If you have a choice, do not use MYOB. If you run into a billing issue, you could be facing enormous frustration. ADDENDUM - MYOB response to this review After posting this review, I was contacted by MYOB as set out below. I responded with details of the problem and relevant support cases. Shortly after, I received an email that expressed sympathy but simply repeated what I had already been told. • MYOB acknowledges that it has money that does not belong to it. • It offered nothing but hollow sympathy and repeated the ridiculous, vague claim that it cannot repay that money without resolving an unspecified technical issue in its billing system. No timeframe for resolution is offered. Even after a 3 months delay, it appears that no one with authority will authorise repayment based on acknowledged facts. The conclusion is clear. MYOB is a company that lacks integrity and is shameless. MYOB places administrative convenience above its obligations to act honestly and fairly towards its customer. Based on my experience, MYOB is a disgraceful organisation that is quite willing to deliberately treat its customers with contempt. Do not do business with MYOB unless you have no alternative.

I provided to the accountant whose name was [Name Removed] in the Sydney office. This was five days ago, since then I have received three phone calls demanding immediate payment for services rendered, even though we are not even half way through finishing the tax return.

I had not yet sent the additional documents as I have been busy with work but both the accountant and his assistant became increasingly rude and demanding. I explained I have not yet had time and will pay after the service has been completed (like every other tax return I have ever done) but they could not understand this and kept asking for my credit card number. It was completely unprofessional and the third call I received all I could hear when I picked up the phone was the assistant saying, "give us your credit card number please." I then politely told her this is inappropriate and I will not be paying until services are rendered. She then hung up on me and told me to forget about the tax return.

The attitude and behavior that I received was completely inappropriate and I would advise anyone AGAINST doing any kind of business with this company. They are rude, pushy and focused on money rather than performing a good service for their clients.
