Ausmar Homes Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi guys. My partner and I are currently in the process of developing an investment property. Value for money wise is ausmar a good option in this instance? Or is it tailored more so for people who want all the extras and luxury finishes?
I think that Ausmar will be great for anyone wanting a new home for whatever reason. They work with you, for you.
All I can say that my experience with Ausmar was not a happy one - their motto might be "we were born to be builders" but in my opinion that does not necessarily mean they succeeded in being good builders. Maybe some people are lucky and some are not but it should not come down to luck. Don't expect luxury finishes.
Do we know if all of those who submit reviews are impartial?
Hi, my partner and I built with Ausmar and were very happy. Like all bulk builders, you have to monitor the work, and ensure that everything is satisfactory before you do the final signoff of the contract. You do have to be extremely detail oriented, and I would suggest visiting the site regularly to check on the build. That is my advice for anyone using any builder. I liked Ausmar because they were flexible with regards to letting us do work ourselves (our own kitchen installer for example) which saved us a lot of money.
Good question raised about the validity of the reviews. As you can see with my review I didn't have the same experience as others and unfortunately its continuing. To submit a review I had to submit proof of purchase and I submitted a copy of an invoice for stage 2 of my build from Ausmar.
I'm also happy to be contacted for ab off-line chat. Just let me know and Ill contact you or provide my details.
My motivation - I don't like being lied to or treated unfairly.
Hi Nick - not sure if you have built your investment home yet or not. We built our family home with Ausmar and we are about to do an investment property build with them as the Sunshine Coast market is really taking off. Simply put I cannot recommend them highly enough - we've built a few houses in the past and these guys are great.

Has anyone built with Ausmar homes in 2013 and what are their experiences on the Sunshine Coast particularly in Noosa?
Hi Nicky, We built with Ausmar and have been in our house for 6 months. We built in Coolum Beach. Our house is beautiful. We had Brad as our supervisor and he was a really nice bloke. If you have any issues, they are there to help. I can assure you, you will get the house that YOU want and not be told what you can and cannot have. I would not have any hesitation in building with them again if we ever needed to. I am never moving again!!!! I love our house so much. If you want to chat, contact the office and I will show you our house and tell of our experiences. Our neighbour also built with Ausmar and they convinced us that we would be happy with our choice. We are. I am not saying that we had no issues, we did and they were dealt with straight away. Nothing is too much and I can say that they are a wonderful group of people to deal with.
Thanks,
Robyn
Hi Robyn, Thank you for yr quick response. Its refreshing to know that your house meet all your expectations and Ausmar built a lovely home. We are looking to build a home on Marcus Beach and certainly would like to chat with you regarding the pros and cons of a new build. Was your home a Custom built? Our block is an irregular shape and would not fit into a project home category. We will be in Noosa on Sunday, 23rd March for 4 days to talk with builders and the sort of home they can build for us.
Many Thanks,
Nicky
Nicky our home wasn't a custom build but they can easily do that. (I sound like I work for Ausmar, but I don't). Ask [name removed] at Ausmar for my phone number and he will arrange for you to meet me.
Thanks,
Robyn
Hi Robyn, have a couple more queries, can you contact me via my email address nickyshaw@email.com.
Thanks,
Nicky
Hi Nicky I guess sometimes you are lucky and sometimes you are not. As you can see by my previous review, I was not at all happy and I am not just whinging - other people who saw what Ausmar were doing on my job said that I had been very kind to them. Probably the biggest problem here was that we struck particularly bad weather but I believe the builder should have allowed for that, as they said they would do.
I had the subframe, floor, frame, windows etc exposed to constant wet (and that means 40mm of water over the floor) for 7 weeks which, apart from being against the suppliers instructions, resulted in damage which was not recognised or rectified by the builder. I paid for an independent qualified building inspector who found the builder to be at fault as well as the building certifier making a number of requests of the builder but these were treated with contempt.
I can back up all of my claims. There were a number of things, too many to write about.
