Who do we send pour complaints to at Aveling Homes?
We have recently built with Aveling and while we are for the most part I have a couple of issues that just wont get addressed and our construction consultant will not return calls or emails. Feedback appreciated.

My construction consultant doesn't know when my cabinet is going to be fixed even though we are waiting for a month time. During that time, my cabinet was changed once but it was wrong again. She said the handle had been installed horizontally but we found it's done vertically. She said we can get right one on Tuesday and we can get final inspection today. However she told us yesterday that she doesn't know when it will be fixed. This notice hadn't been given us until we rang her around 4:30 pm yesterday.

Can you please explain the progress reports on our build? We receive a regular update i.e slab layed however we have recently been advised that the roof carpenters are progressing well and yet we've now visited the site twice in the last week and there is no roof going on or any carpenters in sight. Do the people that send this report actually go to site and see for themselves or are they just reading off a schedule and hope that the next "stage' is happening. I'm writing this because I have rung Aveling office and emailed our build "contact" with no response as yet.

we are currently going through the building process as due to our land taking so long to be released the price of the house has gone up by a lot I was just wondering if any one else had this and did availing give you a discount as the increase is 10k and they want to charge us 8k which is going to be hard for us to afford. they wont budge on taking any more money off the increase but we had heard from some one else that they only charged them 1k for the increase as they couldn't afford more. please if they have given you more of a discount please let me know? as I don't think they are treating us very fairly compared to other people.

Hi there, We had a similar problem - the land took longer to title and then my hubby got made redundant - but the increase wasn't as much as that. I think our sales lady paid some of it and we paid about $1000.
Hope you come right because we found the entire experience with Aveley brilliant - no complaints at all - so happy with our new house.
Good Afternoon Corina, This is an issue that many consumers face when buying pre-titled land. Unfortunately I cannot assist unless you are prepared to provide the details of the customer that you are referring to with respect to the reduced price increase. As you can appreciate I need to investigate if there is a discrepancy and I can only do this if I have all of the facts.
Unfortunately it is quite possible that you may have been given advice by someone who is lacking in knowledge.

im very confident in the information I was provided. aveling please read the answer I received above. they are many people out there that have received a pretty good discount on the price rise. I think it has a lot more to do with sales being down and trying to make more money over any thing else. we are currently in conversations with a manager from aveling but again aveling isn't willing to help us. I definitely will be doing a product review after the build if complete to make people aware of the problems we have had.

Hi Karyn, We felt like this and then someone told us about getting an independent Building Inspector out to have a look. Funny thing is the senior site manager told my husband that he encouraged him to do so, but the day before the pre-handover meeting we were told the Independent bloke would not be welcome. He came out an hour after the meeting and although he said the structure of the house was good the attention to detail was quite shocking. Usually he writes the report as he goes along but there was so many things wrong with ours he had to take his extensive notes back to his office to write them up. Aveling have a lot to answer for. My stress levels being one of them. Just wish they would put their hands up and admit when they are wrong or if something is not up to spec.
Hi Kate Terrible doesn't even begin to describe the Awfulness of our experience with Aveling Homes. We also had an independent Building Inspector and he told us that there were too many defects to itemise, so instead he wrote that "All rooms need remedial work." The finish is as rough as guts and there is absolutely no attention to detail. The whole process has been painfully long, arduous, stressful and drawn out. The management, coordination and supervision have all been of a very poor standard. I still cry myself to sleep each night and so the nightmare continues ....
Karyn, Sorry to hear you are going through a similar thing. Our handover is supposed to be tomorrow but we still have over 40 outstanding jobs that need doing, needless to say we will not be handing over the final cheque. The sheer arrogance of this company is amazing, they ignore an independent building report thinking that we will just go away. News flash for Aveling...We are not going anywhere. In fact we have served them with another 14 day notice of complaint, and Karyn, I suggest you do the same if you havent already done so. Did you build in the metro or southwest? What did you rate the company out of ?
Metro. Rated out of all the other builders through family and friends.
i built in Metro house is now finished thank goodness. The biggest problems were multiple supervisors who were unable to be contacted and the overtime build house is nice now it's finished.

We are building in the Aveley / Ellenbrook area. We have not finished building yet but so far the customer service and standard inclusions along with the salesman's knowledge and help made our minds up for us.
After lots of looking around with other builders Aveling definately felt the way to go.
