Built with Dale alcock 10 years ago and had a great experience with great communication and good quality materials and workmanship and thats why I came back.

This time around I was deciding between dales again and celebrations and decided to go celebrations because they were better value and I was told they use all the same trades and site managers and we could still choose the same finishes and upgrades so I expected the same kind of treatment as last time. Bad decision.

The communcation throughout the entire process was garbage, they kept stuffing up and missing things or putting wrong items in the house because they had no attention to detail and were going off wrong plans. When we tried to make contact we would have to leave messages over and over and id never get a call back because everyone is "always in a meeting or away from their desk". When we wanted to change small things or pointed out wrong things they made it look like it was our fault and wanted to charge us $500 every time. Luckily we had signed documentation to show otherwise.

Ive moved in and its been 3 weeks and Im still chasing them up to fix things from PCI and ive found extra issues which ive raised and been told "are well you had your PCI inspection so not our fault". They were suppose to rectify all items within the 10 days between inspection and final payment and I am still waiting for items to be fixed or finished.

They never cleaned our house properly too, dust and sand everywhere in the cupboards, on the cupboards, doors, floors, windows, trims the whole lot. Myself and my wife had to clean all the cupboards as we put things in because they didnt do anything, id say at best they mopped the floor.

The paint they provided was terrible quality wattyl brand, you hardly touch it and marks and you cant get them off the walls no matter how much you scrub, even my home theatre installer pointed out he ever so slightly rubbed the wall and couldnt get the mark off the wall. My house is 3 weeks old and looks like its been lived in already for 2 years. I painted my last house with dulux before we sold it and there wasnt a mark on it for 6 months prior to moving with 2 kids and was so easy to just wipe off!

My airconditioning unit failed the first week we moved in so had to get that fixed as soon as we got in the house because they didnt test it properly.

We requested a slight change to the downlight locations before being installed so that fans didnt cause shadowing and also to reduce moving them after hand over because its very hard to patch 90mm downlight holes and they refused to just move some downlights out a tiny bit. We had to pay them $500 and forfeit all our downlights including installation because they were unwilling to be cooperate.

We found out we didnt have a cut out for the dryer so now I have to pay someone to come and cut my cabinets so i can fit my drain pipe and water line.

Now im dealing with a rain overflow issue where rain water gushes off my roof and onto the ground when it rains because there is no gutters/downpipes on the top section of my roof and so when the water hits the valley and runs into the lower gutter it just rushes off the roof and all over my driveway/porch. Going to need a roofer to come and provide extra drainage and fix the run off issues I have now.

Honestly, I could go on and on.

I will never build with ABN group again, dale alcock doesnt stand behind his brand anymore and they hide behind smoke and mirrors with their fancy building. Just the sheer amount of staff change overs in the 9 months I built with them is proof that no one wants to work there either.

Celebrations? Better going with BGC! Avoid at all costs.

Both Adam and Sabrina consistently demonstrated patience, professionalism and a genuine willingness to support us, taking the time to explain each stage in detail and ensuring we felt informed and comfortable throughout the process.

They also went above and beyond their core responsibilities by providing additional information, guidance and support in areas that were sometimes outside the direct scope of their respective roles. Their commitment to customer service made a significant difference to our experience.

Throughout the journey, we identified a few areas where responsibilities appeared somewhat unclear or overlapped between teams; or between the builder and client. We provided feedback on these aspects as they arose, with the intention of contributing to continuous improvement and helping to streamline the experience for future home buyers.

This home is a very personal project for me. I’m aiming for a rustic farmhouse feel with plenty of character, dark features and a layout that works for my lifestyle and my dogs. the time for prestart and other activities i am not counting. It took 14 months to complete from slab down. In reality only 4 months the real work happened rest of the time my work got postponed. And my site was ruined with weeds and other plants which later i paid to get it cleaned.( they removed building materials after construction) and on handover day MY HOUSE WAS IN MIDDLE OF AUSTRALIAN BUSH AND WEEDS. THE Sales persons commitment was 8 to 10months. Never trust sales and prestart. They will change things which they agree on prestart (which looks better and they offer you that for free, which later they will tell u that it is not available so choose cheap item from their available list or pay for expensive). Immediately after I SIGNED THE CONTRACT, WHEN I TALKED TO OPERATION TEAM THEY SAID THEIR BUILD TIME IS 12 MONTHS WHICH AGAIN DELAYED 2 MORE MONTHS. If you want to know the reality ask your sales person that you need to talk to the operation head or the building supervisor and need a commitment from them on the deadline then the truth will get revealed infront of you.

Management is heartless they dont listen to your grievence. My solar installation got postponed atleast 5 times just because Ross north didnt finish their job or they didnt allow my solar panel installers to their job. CRACKS on floor and WALL. even before handover, i got cracks on my floor and wall. And my HOT WATER UNIT is broken and whenever i tried to get help they want me to contact the installer now i am running between pillars. POOR ARCHITECTS OR ENGINEERS They will throw unwanted drainage pipes around your house which is opening to nothing. Later they will cover is with plastics... They dont have esthetics too my elevation have a stupid drainage pipe running on my elevation piller and when i asked about that they told me it is part of complaince. But there is another 10 houses newly built in my street SERPENTINE MEANDER, GOSNELLS 6110 and non of them have this pipe. And most annoying part is 2 DRAINAGE PIPE WHICH IS ONLY 30CM APART

POSITIVE ATTRIBUTE is they make your house big and use maximum space allowable.

Felicity will keep you well updated along the way, makes sure you are well organised so there are no hold ups and is always happy to give her professional opinion on colours, tiles, etc. Deano is the most easy going builder to talk too. If you have an idea he will do his best to make it work for you. He is also willing to add in some suggestions that may save you some money or to create the look you want. They have a great bunch of builders with whom you can have a laugh, but they are highly professional on the job. client liaisons at Status, the latest being the wonderful Kiki. Communication was outstanding from start to finish. I was kept regularly updated with progress photos at every stage, and no question was ever too small or silly to get a clear answer. The pre-start process was also smooth and hassle-free. From foundation to lock-up, Status delivered at every step. Our building inspector was excellent, and because of all the horror stories out there, we also hired an independent inspector. Even they were impressed — they could barely find any issues, and the few defects noted were very minor and purely cosmetic. The only delay was about a month due to the terrible weather in August 2025, which was completely understandable. I’d much rather have a quality build that takes a little longer than a rushed, problematic one. PCI was a pleasure as well, and I’m now counting down the days until I get the keys to my very first home! A huge thank you to the entire Status team for such excellent work. Highly recommended!

previously designed and built 3 homes with designers and custom builders and done Major renovations on 2 other homes so we know the building process and challenges pretty well. So far we have been really impressed with the Country builders experience. Our design consultant was Andre Cater. We started with a plan that was remotely similar to what we were after and with Andre’s patient and very knowledgeable assistance we worked on customising the plan piece by piece both inside and out .We had many meetings , Andre had some great ideas and he came to our rural block to get a better understanding of the location and what we were looking to achieve. Changes were costed along the way so it made final decision making a lot easier. Communication throughout the process was excellent and always prompt. Prestart with Katie and Belynda was also a great experience. A great range of products to work with and open to lots of input and queries from us. Knowledge and attention to details were first class. If the build proceeds at the same standard we will be super impressed.
