Shoes Express. The BIRKENSTOCK Siena is a real classic whose simplistic style impresses the fashion world. This popular sandal has been updated in a new material, and there is now a vegan option available. Independent testing facilities confirmed that it contains no animal products. The upper is constructed of skin-friendly, hard-wearing synthetic material in a stylish nubuck style with a texture and colour that almost seems like real leather.
I see that some people have mentioned that buying from Germany ensures better quality. I'd be keen to do this after my bad experience with the inferior quality shoes I've bought in Australia. However, I contacted the company in Germany and they don't deliver to Australia. Does anyone have any advice about how to buy the original german made Birkenstocks?
yeah for the price they are not worth it , dont fit right, and slide around too much, i purchased the steel cap clogs for kitchen work, and my $30 dollar pair of boots from kmart are way more comfortable. a bad product i do not recommend these.
I didn't find any problem with the comfort-it's the quality-I wore them for a total of 14 weeks in a casual job, and the sole had a hole in it. I expect more from $252 purchase. I'm going back to Docs.
My arizona brown suede sandals recently have the right foot straps stretched so they flop on me ... can the suede be shrunk ? Thought maybe driving an automatic car - right pedal foot !!!
I have just purchased a par of Birks for first time in some years I now have an allergie from across the top of my feet From the uppers . I never had this problem with any of the one with the leather uppers. Has any one else had this problem
I have a pair of men’s slip on style clogs but open at the toes and two buckles. They cost $180 in Bellingen. The leather is so hard and when when worn for only a short time , I get blisters at the tops of my feet. Definitely my size , but poor design and low quality hard leather. What’s the go with these ? Anyone have the same issues ?
I have not had this problem with Birkenstocks but I have not owned a pair of this design. Not sure what to suggest! Is there anyway you can try to manipulate the leather to soften it? Or maybe wearsing a bandaid for a while? Sorry!
Sounds like these really need a chance to be broken in. Leather straps on these tend to be harder to break in than the synthetic uppers. One way I find to make them blister less is to apply a thin coat of hand lotion to the problem area of the strap. Do this every couple of hours. It makes the sandals more bearable until the straps molds to your feet.
I have been genuinely looking to buy a pair of Birkenstocks - Gizeh - for almost 3 months but have had trouble finding a size that feels comfortable and looks like the right size. Every salesperson tells me something different. I've been told I should buy them 2 sizes bigger than my normal shoe size but they seem to have too much space front and back. Is it true that the shoe moulds in towards your toes so I need to get a pair 2 sizes bigger?
I don't honk that's correct! I'm on my third pair of gizeh now (first pair lasted 6 years, second pair got chewed up by the dog) but my foot is snug to the front and back...it actually touches where the shoe base curves up. They do mould to your foot a little, but more the sole fits to your foot arch. I'd ignore the advice and just see if you can find a pair that feels snug. Adjust the buckle so they fit snug around the top of your foot too.
If you can't find any size that feels comfortable then perhaps they're not for you? But I love mine, I've even hiked up the 1000 steps in them.
Oh dear silly autocorrect! It says honk instead of think and it won't let me fix it!
As an owner of three pairs of Birks, including Gizeh's, which are my favourite, they fit like normal shoes...meaning they run "true to size". Always try them on if you can later in the day so your feet will be their largest. Your foot should just fit on the sole without your toes riding on the front rim and with your heel firmly in the heel cup at the back. there shouldn't be lots of extra room like a pair of flip flops. The soles will feel strange at first due to the support base and the fact that they will be new and stiff. Birkenstock makes both regular and narrow widths. Being a guy I need the regular width. The next step is to fit the straps. On Gizeh's tighten the strap so that the plastic toe thong cannot dig into your toe web (you will know if it does...ouch!). Now try the "kick test" to see that the straps are snug enough. Lightly kick something solid like a wall corner and see that the strap keeps the thong from digging into your toe web. Adjust as necessary. At first you will find the straps seems tight and your toes will not reach all the way forward. This if good. Over the next week of wearing the straps will stretch. Don't be surprised if one strap needs to be tighter than the other. That's how good a fit Birkenstocks are. Wear them only for a few hours at a time at first to get used to them and to give the soles a chance to mold to your feet. Gradually start wearing them more. For the first while your feet will scream at you as you will work muscles you never did before and the sole supports in places you aren't used to. Stick with it and magically one day the sandals will feel like extensions of your feet and you will be able to (and want to) wear them all the time anywhere. One last note about Gizeh's (and Madrids as well) is that they "force" your toes to grip and release as you walk. At first this feels really weird and can make your toes uncomfortable. It is actually good for you and you get used to it very easily. It's not like the constant grip some people use to keep flip flops on, which is unhealthy. Enjoy your new stylish thongs!
I was starting to think that maybe they're not for me but that's good advice to ignore the salesperson's advice and just get a pair that feels snug. There's a lot of useful info in these replies. Thanks very much.

The “Vionic” collection of sandals offers fantastic assist as well with many designs simply being, “beach-friendly”, so that you don't need to worry should they get a very little drenched. They have dressier versions with excellent changeable closures. You can also find the “Oofos” completely water-resistant sandals, with very good assistance and a small rocker base. They are produced from much softer plastic-type that pillows the ft . effectively. A great rehabilitation shoe for after having a tough work out. https://www.voorlichtingbuitenlandsevrouw.nl/forum/view-postlist/forum-2-algemeen/topic-162-what-are-the-finest-shoes-for-the-move.html https://site-8531105-3466-8238.mystrikingly.com https://www.tumblr.com/blog/jennyxee1 http://www.jakanietorun.pl/blog-pracy-nad-swoim-jkaniem/comments/866 https://demo.jcow.net/blogs/viewstory/4447
