They are very slack when it comes to communications, I ordered something from the St Peters Wearhouse and nobody rang me to say we are ding a stock take we can not send it to you right now and buy the way we don't have stock here, I only found out when I went to a store, they didn't have stock but the shop I was in did, the fuss just to get the order changed from pickup from St Peters to Bondi Junction was a nightmare but got it done on the spot and walked out with my product

Agree, very slack to the point is there is no communication. I got a support request and had no idea what it was but looking into it , it was actually to say my request had been approved and was meaning that my order payment was accepted.

I put in an order last Thursday for items that were in stock, promised same day dispatch but they had not left on Friday when I called. Now on Monday morning they say they have been dispatched and given me a tracking code which Australia Post does not recognise?

Hi, ordered 9am Monday 26th Sept, its now Friday 30th Sept and still the order has not been processed/sent, certainly appears that the order is going to take weeks, not days!! From memory, this is not first time Digi has delayed processing/post my order, so please tell how you sell an item when you don't stock it without informing the customer prior that a delay will occur because the item is on back order ? apologies just don't cut it, your not the only retailer to do this, however many customers won't return, including myself!!

How long do you usually have to wait for a lens that's on back order?

Hi Tan, I guess it depends on the supplier. I bought a camera (nikon) on backorder from DigiDirect a few years ago, and they were very accurate with how long it would take to arrive and they let me know when it was in. I'd ask them specifically about the lens you are after, Cheers

Hi Tan. The typical backorder delay is 7 - 14 business days, but that's a general guideline. It can be faster or shorter depending on the supplier, whether they have stock or if they are bringing it in from overseas, how popular is the item, etc. As Chris suggested, if you respond to your email about the backorder asking for an ETA our online team will see if they can provide a more specific estimate than the 7 - 14 days outlined. I cancelled my order after 3 months. Unsubscribed from their email list, blocked their ads on FB and IG. They don’t exist anymore as far as I’m concerned.
