I have recently moved into a one storey apartment we purchased of which a new duxflo tank was installed less than 12mths ago by the previous owner.

Firstly, it seems odd that hot water is taking at least 30s to reach the outlets considering the tank is within the apartment. This can happen any time during the day. Secondly, the pressure is very small compared to just running the cold water. About half the pressure I would say. Thirdly, having even upped the temperature to 70ºC I still require full hot water when washing up and only need to add a tiny bit of cold for showers. Initially the temperature was set to 60ºC and I did not have to add cold to the shower at all.

I have lived in a number of houses and apartments s with electric hot water tanks of which I've never had an issue with any of the above.

Keen to know the reasons why and if there are workarounds to improve the issues.

Cheers, Tristan

Hi I was wondering if in side the water systems are steal or copper?

Hi. They are steel. Not copper. The description states: "Steel tanks feature long life enamel from A. O. Smith and a thicker anode to maximise tank durability"

Hope this helps.

Hi Marsha,

The inner cylinder is constructed of Mild Steel with a Vitreous enamel lining, with a sacrificial Anode for corrosion protection.
