I purchased the 50L Plug In Dux Pro HWS. It was set at 65 deg C with a tempering valve set at 50 deg C (Queensland). Progressively using the hot water throughout the day and reducing the hot water (unit filling with cold water) ... what temperature does the HWS start heating again? Does the unit automatically start reheating as you use the hot water or is there a set temperature that it drops to .. then it starts reheating? Regards Ron

Hi Ron, The thermostat has an 8 Deg C differential; at a set temperature of 60 Deg C, it will turn the element on when the temperature at the thermostat drops to 52 Deg C. The element will continue to heat until the thermostat turns off at the preset temperature (60 Deg C in this example).

Hope that helps.

Can the temperature be adjusted? Is there thermostat adjustment available on this unit?

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Raeleen,

The hot water system has an adjustable thermostat, being able to be set from 60 Deg C to 75 Deg C.

This thermostat can only be accessed and adjusted by a suitably licensed tradesperson.

What is the preset temperature when you purchase a new unit in Queensland?

I am sorry I cant help you there...The installer takes care of all the setting which I believe its a set...setting ..require by law in Qld. BUT the water temperature is ideal and constant. HENRI.

Hi Ron,

Electric storage heaters have the thermostat factory set to 65 Deg C. This can be adjusted by the installer between 60 Deg C minimum and 75 Deg C maximum.

Thank you for answers ... The unit I am purchasing is a Dux 50L 2.4KW Proflo Plug In Electric Storage Water Heater that will be fitted under my home. If the unit is set by the installer to 60 Deg C and the tempering valve set to 45 Deg C ... How long would it take to heat the water to the set temperature? Regards Ron

Hi Ron,

A 50L heater being heated by a 2.4kW element on average will take 73 minutes to heat from cold to hot.

Hi.

My proflo 50l is brand new snd keeps activating circuit breaker in main meterbox. I pushed the reset switch the first time this happened but now its bypassing the the unit and settling off house breaker in meterbox. In fact this happens as soon as you plug the unit into the PowerPoint.

Could this be fried thermostat or possibly dodgey element?

PowerPoint has been checked and no fault there. Any suggestions for a remedy to this problem would be appreciated?

Thanx

Scottie.

Hi Scottie .... Sounds annoying & worrying ... I'm no Electrician so don't have a solution ... But, suggest you contact DUX at : help@dux.com.au ..... and/or a good local Electrician.

Hi Scottie if the unit is brand new you need to get back to the manufacturer or supplier/installer. it seems like a product fault

No you can't change the hot water temperature. Think it is pre-set. But think Rheem and other brands you can.

can i lower the water tempriture?

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Brian, The temperature should be at a minimum of 60 degrees, if you are wanting it lower then you can install a tempering valve which will lower the temperature at your taps. For more information, please contact 1300 365 115 - option 2 for further information.

how long should a 50L dux proflo water tank be able to run before its gets cold? because we cant barely get a 15 minute shower!

Dux
Dux   DM

Hi Dee, If you have standard shower heads in your shower, they can use approximately 9L of hot water per minute. This would indicate you may start to run out of hot water after 5/6 minutes. Please contact Dux Manufacturing Limited if you would like to discuss further on 1300 365 115.

Who needs a 15 min shower anyway. Ours is installed in our rental and we have had no complaints from the tenants.
