Thank you for the reply, The set comes with a cabling with the color coded edges, that same cabling included the spliced wires for the hardwired connection.

Hey Lloyd Yes we had no problem with it. I was driving when it stopped, I pulled over for fuel and opened it to remove the DVD and put it back in and then it wouldn't read it. When I got home I put another DVD in and it done the same.

Hi Neil. Thank you for your query. The 2 din stereo is a universal fit for most Toyota vehicles. We do encourage to double check the size of your available slot against the dimensions of the unit to be safe. As for the wiring, the one supplied is a universal OEM loom, if you require other looms, this can be purchased at any auto store.

Thank you for your query. The 5Pin connector acts like a heavy duty joiner as you often disconnect it when the trailer/ caravan is unhitched as if its just a 4pin cable, it will easily wear out.

Simply less OHMS. A more direct cable has less resistance and thus will have more throughput. You may find the '5' pin is simply for 12 to 24V and made of many strands of copper or other wire and terminating at a point to establish continuity. Also ensures reliability over time.

Hi Shayne, Thank you for reporting the issue with us. Have you tried to perform a reset on the unit? The lower left hand part has a small panel you can open, there should be a small reset hole there, while the unit is on, you can try to poke it with something pointed for 3-5sec then release, it should reboot, let us know if there will be any difference.

Hi and thanks for getting back to me, yes, I did a reset back when the problem first happened and many times since then but all to no avail. I was thinking of removing it and getting something different. then I saw this forum and thought it was worth asking first. Regards Shayne

Hi Shane, Thanks for the update. May we ask, how long have you had this unit? as it seems this one still uses the CE type app OS, if the reset does not solve anything, try doing a cold boot on the unit by unplugging the actual power cord from the back for 5mins then plug back in. If there is still no difference, it could be an app related problem possible firmware update can resolve but we are not sure if the supplier can provide us with this one. We can ask, but no guarantees.

Thanks again, I will try to unplug the power as soon as I am able to remove the unit from the dash. That is a job that is physically demanding at the moment but hopefully I can get it done in the near future. I will get back to you once I have checked. Thank you for your assistance

Hi Cview, We checked on the manual for this unit and also contacted the supplier. It seemed the unit does not have an external reset button. May we know what is exactly wrong with the unit as it could be fixed by doing something else other than reset?

Found a broken wire on rear camera has been fixed. If I scroll thru settings reset comes up on screen I thought a reset might help. Thanks

Hi Cview, If you can see a reset option under settings, yes that might help the issue. If you have tried that and nothing still happens and if you are still having issues, please let us know. We would also need the purchase details so we can check for warranty and raise them properly with the supplier.

Hi Bob, Thanks for the information. Yes, the unit has audio output on channel 1 only but it needs a camera with mic and audio capable cables. this is an optional add on as the cameras included on the package are normal CCD type cameras. Audio capable cameras are usually like this on the link: external link 

Purchased Elinz 9" Quad monitor. Have video but no audio. You advised that a camera with a microphone was needed. Just received the Elinz RVQWHIOM reversing camera with built in microphone cost $100.80 but still no audio? Could you please help

Hi Mae, Thank you for reporting the issue to us. The DCA12 as with any other dashcam needs to be charged using the cigarette lighter plug that came with it as the usb cable just serves as a data transfer cable only. You may try accessing the menu and changing some settings while plugged in to the cigarette lighter socket. If any other issues arise, please let us know.

Hello! This has helped me and I was able to make my dash camera work. However, my dash camera came with a hardwire kit that did not have instructions on how to install it. I searched up online on how to install the hardwire kit on youtube and websites but they look different. Do you have instructions on how to hardwire a DCA12 dash camera? The hardwire kit is called "BaoLin Drive Charger"? If not, is it still possible to turn on the parking mode without the hardwire kit as it has a built-in battery?

Hi Mae, The units built in battery is just for memory purposes and is not capable in maintaining power to the unit while in use. This is normal for all dash cams unless advertised with battery with long life, As for the hard wired kit, here is a link to a video on how they are usually installed. external link  dash cam models may differ but the principles are the same. If you find the installation a bit technical, we suggest to just use an auto electrician to get it wired for safety reasons.

Does this mean that without hardwiring the dash camera, I am able to use all the features besides the parking mode? If so, that’s okay.

Correct, the park mode can only be used if its hardwired but if you only need the Dashcam to record while you are driving, then you may only use the cigarette lighter plug.

Hi Alan, Thank you for your query. To watch the same movie from a DVD on both screens, you need to link up both the unit, main screen will be on DVD mode then the 2nd screen on AV mode. Physical connection, Main screen AV out then AV in for the 2nd screen.
