Why is a shinky company like Lenovo is just garbage sold by SCAMMERS makes a good door stop

I have an all-in-one Lenovo and virtually since purchase it has had what I would call a quasi-sticking-keyboard. That is, on about 5% of when operating, it either writes multiple letters and characters, as if the keyboard letter is held down, or writes nothing at all. I exchanged the keyboard immediately with the seller, Officeworks - it still happened. Exchanged it with my own spare keyboard - worked at first then same thing. Contacted Lenovo who despite my misgivings, sent a replacement keyboard. Same result - intermittent quasi-sticking. Persevered for a while but as problem worsened, contacted Lenovo again and guess what - they insisted on sending out another keyboard despite my protests. Eventually, they said we would have to do a complex download/fix procedure, well beyond our computer expertise and certain, I am sure, to result in a non-working computer . When I refused, (a computer working 95% of the time is far better than not at all) asking them to simply send a technician, they washed their hands of us. I am certain that our problem is not unique and that a competent "nerd" could carry out their recommendations. I would be very interested to know if anyone else has struck this problem.

Believe me, I sympathise with you as this is typical of what consumers are experiencing. As per my reviews, the situation is abysmal - so much so that I still haven’t found a decent laptop at a realistic price after months of looking. In your case I personally would request a refund. Good luck!

Are shipping dates accurate on the Australian Lenovo site?

I hope to buy Legion 5 Pro from the Australian site. It is a pre-built product. The site shows item will be shipped in 1-2 weeks. Are that mentioned times accurate or will it take more time?

anyone had trouble with the microphone

No. I had an issue with the antivirus software included with my laptop and had to reboot it back to factory settings which meant I lost a lot of documents etc.

Have you tried soft reset ? you can find steps on you tube. external link  If it does not work try hard reset. if all fails I guess you can certainly contact the retailer (if there is one). I always purchase these kind of things on my credit card as if all fails you can always dispute the charge for providing defect product. Hope this helps.

Are Lenovo tower PCs any good?

Brett Moore

I do not know but after the trouble I have had with my Lenovo Yoga personally I would not go near the brand with a barge pole. I have never seen any problems with Dell.

Thanks for your advice. Now that I have had a chance to peruse the Internet I see that you are not alone. Ill give Lenovo the flick! Sorry you have had trouble with them. Martyn

Why do you want to deal with them? Buy a cheap one from one of retailers in oz (i removed the name): you get it replaced immediately and don't need to deal with months of repairs, refunds, and loss of money. At least this is my experience after buying premier models (both broken. One on arrival, one 6 months later).

I purchased two Lenovo notebooks for my twins (MIIX 510 HQ Silver CVT Notebook). Both were purchased through ‘flexirent’ and had to be sent firstly back to Lenovo for diagnosis then back to the flexirent repair service to have replacement battery as the battery life was lucky to be 1.5hrs when it should be 7.5hrs. So both tablets have been returned and despite new battery installation they still will not hold charge. I will not purchase another Lenovo for this reason

Hi Suz. I too have been more than disappointed with Lenovo and will NOT deal with them again! 10 days on from purchase they still can't fix the warranty end date - which they have as ")" days left when I purchased it only 2 weeks ago. If they are within warranty still then you are entitled to get these issues fixed. I did mention the ACCC and was surprised that, even though it is an overseas call centre, they new exactly who the ACCC are. Good luck .....

Same thing happened to me. Purchased a yoga 530 and the battery life was less than two hours. Sent it back to them and am waiting for a refund which they said will take three weeks

Has any one got a telephone number to talk to a real person who can make decisions and help with my Lenovo order? The service is truly appalling and I am in disbelief a company in today's world can operate in this way, I have spent the the last 13 days on the phone to every department to find out why my laptop was not delivered. Today I have finally been offered a refund but the hours and hours of phone calls have exhausted me. All I wanted was the computer I ordered, even when they admitted that I had not received it you'd think they might have offered to maybe send out the same model again but maybe expedite it quicker because I have been so patient. I was told it would take 10-14 days plus the delivery of 7 days. I even requested that they could ship it direct to me but just to request this can take 3 days and the reply is not certain?

Lenovo have got too big and forgotten the customer, I was was persistent and polite on every phone call, I hope [name removed] reads this and should hang his head in shame. I have purchased 4 Lenovo's in the last 5 years but no more, very upset and disappointed. To be fair to Sales support, they were brilliant but once they have your money you are totally at their mercy. This has taken from the 7th March to today 3rd April. It seems UPS "lost" the parcel but that even took "an investigation" when one telephone call would have sorted this out much earlier. I was taught "Treat people as would expect to be treated" with honesty, efficiency, pride and good manners, I live by this today so it is shame that this ethos could not be taken on board by Lenovo.

All I run is Microsoft Office, nothing else and I use it for business. It has crashed twice today during critical negotiations, utter junk.

My daughter also has the same problem. Yoga 310 purcahsed in January 2018. No password was ever set. Was a solution found? Did Lenovo admit that this is a fault and a common problem?

Look I used that phone, which is great for all, but basically, I found windows phone which has so many new features and that is great for all. Faced any issue with windows then I have external link , from there you will take the proper solution. I think that is helpful for you all.

Hi... I am also having same problem...did you get any solution???

Kate R.

I was just online with virtual support and apparently the lock is on the hard drive which has been accessed through BIOS (my toddler pressing keys and setting a password which I'll never know). This models motherboard is soldered to the hard drive so I'm up for a new motherboard. Hard drive and BIOS password locks aren't covered by warranty and the price to replace is about the same as a whole new laptop. So basically it's crap and I've lost everything on my laptop as it can't be accessed without the password

Usually happens when PC has already been used by someone else. That person has entered a password, sold unit but failed to forward password, thus new user is 'locked out' and unable to use PC.

Any there any service centre for Lenovo laptop under warranty?

Unflexy
Unflexy

If you happen to reside in Melbourne unfortunately there's no service centre. The laptop has to be sent to New South Wales but first you need to contact Lenovo customer service (if you are lucky enough to get through to them and you don't happen to have the misfortune of a very rude person on the other end) for an order number for the repairs then take the laptop to wherever you purchased it so that it can picked up by courier. By the time you finished all of the above, trust me you will be exhausted.

I agree 100% with the comments by "unflexy" as they mirror my experience. I purchased my Lenovo computer from Harvey Norman in Cairns where they have an in-house tech team but they are not qualified. They tried twice to fix the problem but all they did was restore factory settings. When I went to pick it up after their second attempt it would not start and they finally agreed to return it to Lenovo. Today they tell me that Lenovo have fixed it by replacing the mother board and I should have it back in two days. If it breaks down again I will throw this heap of rubbish in the bin and buy a new computer. My research tells me that the Acer XC-704 has a much higher satisfaction rating and best of all they have a repair agent in Cairns.

Hello Vish, Kevin and Uniflexy. If you push Lenovo customer service hard enough they will send a tech out to your site to fix it on site. I pushed and pushed and finally got them to agree to do it in Adelaide. They definitely win the award for the most useless customer service on the planet.
