Late November 2025 I took my engagement/wedding ring set to Michael Hill in Albury after the ring was damaged. The cause of the damage is unknown however the main diamond from my engagement ring was lost. After multiple phone calls from my end and NO progress updates from the store, I've been told my ring will not be repaired. When I purchased all of the rings, I have also purchased the relevant care plans, the diamond warranty which I have honoured every 6 months as required only to be told, sorry repairs of this nature are not covered under any of the plans I was told I needed to protect the set. $10,000 worth of rings, additional costs to cover what should have covered and damages to the ring but only to find out when I needed it most, it's all for nothing. Absolutely devastated to have lost my set after only 3 years because a reputable jeweller sells "lifetime warranty/care plans" that are worth less than the paper they're written on.
If this is a store issue and not Michael Hill's flaky policy, please advise so I can take it elsewhere. If this is Michael Hill's policy, it's disgraceful and I hope the above shares some awareness to others before purchasing.

Hi there, I bought a silver and diamond crossover ring in Nov 2019. At the time of purchase I was sold the Professional Care Plan for an additional $70. I recently went to the Michael Hill store where I purchased the ring to have it re-sized but was advised by the store that this wasn't covered. I advised that I beleived it was (and having re-checked the Plan is can see that it definately was) but was firmly told that it wasn't and that furthermore the type of ring I had precluded any re-sizing. I have now had the ring re-sized elsewhere without fuss. Please can you advise why the re-sizing was refused by the store under the Professional Care Plan? Suzie
My husband and I purchased the lifetime professional care plan when we bought my wedding set in 2011. unfortunately I've misplaced the paperwork when we moved house so I'm wondering if your company keeps records and if I'd be able to get a reprint? My rings need a polished and rhodium plating!
Hi Riannan, For Lifetime Professional Care Plans, our in-store teams can attempt to search for the original purchase documentation to locate your Professional Care Plan number. We recommend visiting your preferred Michael Hill store, with any purchase documentation you do have and our wonderful sales associates will be able to provide more specific advice.
Kind regards Michael Hill Customer Service
Thank you! Fingers crossed either the store I bought it from, or the store where it had its last clean and plating have me on record!
Hi i bought a white gold necklace during the black friday sale period and pcp is included in the purchase price which i did not opt for. I ask for a pcp refund but it was refused because they said it was included as part of the sale price. But the booklet states plan may be cancelled at any time within the first 30 days. I need a clarification in this matter and can i go to any michael hill store to request a refund.

Hi, my fiancee broke off the engagement, can I sell the diamond engagement ring back to the store?
Hi Rooks, Thanks for reaching out and Im sorry to hear this has happened. Sadly Michael Hill do not accept buys backs, I can only recommend trying to sell this independently .
Regards, Shaely
When purchasing a ring from you guys does it come with a price tag around on the ring
Yes they have
Hi Russ, Thanks for reaching out! Once the item is purchased, the staff will remove the tag ! i hope this helps! Regards, Shaely
I went in and picked out my engagement ring a couple of days ago, the lady in store said that because they need to resize this particular ring I chose more than 3 sizes that they would have to make me one from scratch and said it would take 6-8 weeks to be made however the receipt said it won’t be ready for 12 weeks!! How long does it normally take them to make a ring from scratch? I don’t really want to have to wait 3 months for my engagement ring.
Dear Trudy Thank you for your enquiry. We do ask you to allow up to 6 - 8 weeks for the ring to be produced specifically for you however if you are able to advise which store you made your purchase in I would be delighted to follow up for you.
Kind Regards
Tracey
Hi Tracey. It was at your Knox City Store. If it was done earlier than the stated time it would be greatly appreciated. I am going away early October and would love to have it to go away with.
Hi There!
We have decided to upgrade my ring. It was said we would get our full amount for the diamond back when we by a new ring. Why doesn’t this include the sales tax of 13 percent since on the new ring we are getting charge the sales tax again? Also why don’t your staff member elaborate on the policies? Sure you would be taking a hit on the sales but at least people would better understand what they are signing up for? Maybe more training needs to happen or maybe you need more qualified associates working there seeing how some of your rings are as much as automobiles.
Hi there, my partner recently proposed with one of your rings but it seems to be slightly too small. We are currently on an extended working holiday overseas so will miss the 30 day exchange period. What are our options at this stage? I have had very bad experiences with rings being resized in the past and I also understand resizing rings bigger is much more complicated that making them smaller. I would therefore prefer to exchange or refund the purchase price rather than resize. The ring has only been tried on, not worn. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.
