Hi, you may have already had an answer to this as you asked over a year ago! You would have to rely upon the manufacturer's warranty that you get with the aircon units and the oven. Planbuild didn't provide the correct ventilation for one of our ovens and it stopped working. We sorted this directly with the manufacturer however they could have refused to replace it under warranty. Also the maintenance period is usually 12 months, maybe check your contract. In any event, Planbuild are now in administration so all defects will have to go through QBCC.

I don't know what their building quality. Because we haven't built with them. But I would say they has some connection with the agent and put a house&land package(only 750,000 in their advertisement as a full turn key price) and try to attract us as a very low price. When we actually turn to the contract and they add crasy extra money when we want to change the plan(just add one more room). And we end up with 770, 000 in the contract with no flooring, no lighting, no turf, no fencing. And they try to add more money because my land is affected by bushfire. I can't image how much it would be when we all finish. I go to GJ gardener and their house is 20 sqm2 bigger than PlanBuild and their totally finish price(it's a real full turn key price) is only 749,000(include the land). And GJ gardener can be fully customise. Don't build with planbuild, they are too expensive and will keep adding you money. That's my experience. Good luck with your building.

Hi Sam, my recommendation would be to avoid Planbuild. We are having a disastrous time with them at the moment. Our house is a custom build and they are disregarding the Contract and manufacturers specifications in the construction. They are generally being very difficult to deal with and now are only talking to us through their solicitor with threats of termination if we don’t comply with what they want. Hi Carmel, you would pay for this, it’s a bit like insurance, it can save you from buying something that would be very costly to build on, we can assess the site and advise before doing a soil test, our experience will be able to determine a lot of things before a soil test is needed. Rob Thomson

All pretty good Joey. We have just built another house with them at Pelican Waters on the sunshine coast to retire into. Plans are great. Pricing is great too especially if you need to make alterations. We added another metre to the width of our new house. This one went up really fast except at the end. Small things that were needed to be finished prior to hand over was frustrating. All up it took about 6 months from the start of drawing up the plans to move in but that included the Christmas break. And once again turn key. All we needed to do was put up blinds - great value at Spotlight and move the furniture in. Another thing I really likes was the air conditioning points were put in during construction which saved us money when we had the aircon fitted. Got them on special at Harvey Norman. We have built 5 times now over the years and this has been the best one and it will be our last.

Planbuild are a very professional little building company... they're not huge but build a very good quality home for the price and will not try and pull the wool over your eyes. I built with planbuild in Brisbane last year, a 2-storey ascot at hendra. My brother recommended them to me... he is a custom builder and he has got them to build a few investment homes for him because he said he couldn't get the level of quality at the prices they offer.
