Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, we don't offer width options on our pointed shoes. I do understand this isn’t the exact answer you were hoping for but we’re definitely working hard to bring new styles you’ll love in wide width options. I’d encourage you to sign up to our mailing list for updates on our upcoming product launches. :)
I have lymphoedema in my feet and legs and need to wear low heels. I have noticed that the minimum height is 2.5 inches -7cms. Is it possible to have custom made heels about 4cms?. There used to be a sliding scale available to select heel height from 2cms upwards. Can this be reinstated? I am certain there are many customers who require a low heel.
Thanks so much for your inquiry. We've been making a lot of improvements on the website to make it simpler and more user-friendly. Selecting heel heights through the new online designer also has become less complicated as we only display the available heel heights for a specific base style that you've chosen. I'm afraid, though, as we've recently discontinued offering our kitten heels. We know this option has a great number of followers and it's also frustrating from our end that we had to stop offering it at this time. We are slowly upgrading all our shoes for improved fit and sizing and until we have developed a new last (shoe mold) for our kitten heels, this option is not available. Please check out our emails so you will be notified once it's relaunched.
Would you say there sizes are average? I'm usually a 6 i can't get it wrong as I'm ordering wedding shoes
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, Becky! Our shoes are pretty standard. However, it might be worth mentioning that there is no universal standard size or universal last (shoe mould) that applies to all brands and every brand uses their own unique set of shoe moulds. In regards to choosing your sizing, what we find works best is to make your shoes in your normal shoe size or the size you wear most often. We can't promise a perfect fit first time, but if there are any issues we have a very generous returns policy and will either remake the shoes for you or refund you in full. You can also email us through hunter@shoesofprey.com with your foot measurements and the style you're looking at getting so we can suggest further. :)
After 5+ years of consistent use my Vein Wear shoes have been loved too much and need to be retired. Through google sleuthing I learnt that the man behind Vein Wear shoes is the COO at Shoes of Prey. Please tell me whether there is anything Vein-like in your company, and whether there is a place in Brisbane that I can go to review the shoes for quality, inspiration and sizing?
Hi Rosie, Glad you found us! It'd be tricky to compare Vein Wear shoes from our products as we only do women shoes. However, I can definitely say our shoes are Vein-like in materials and quality. We don't have a store in Brisbane but we do have one in David Jones Sydney (Level 4).
By the way, Chris was delighted to hear from you. Thanks, Rosie!
I have a problem with a bunion on one foot and would love to have it slightly wider than the other. Although I normally wear M width can you stretch it a bit?
Hi Sheila, I'm not with the Shoes of Prey business. You need to go on their website and ask them on their contact page. However u have a bunion on one foot too, lucky aren't we, and when I had my fitting I was told they could make one shoe wider. I didn't go for this, but it's worth asking them.
Hi Sheila, Although we can craft shoes with wider fitting - except for sandals and pointed flats, we are unable to apply it to one shoe only. Getting your shoes in wide or extra wide is definitely worth the try, though. If the other shoe turns out a bit wider, I'm pretty sure the inserts we provided should help. :)
You can also email at hunter@shoesofprey.com for more sizing advice, Sheila.
I have had 2 pairs of shoes made, but they both gape out at the sides when I stand in them which looks unsightly. They are beautiful shoes, and the pair that are the smoking slipper shape are not too bad, however the ballet flats look terrible when I stand up and walk in them. Is the problem lack of arch support or too wide for my feet or too narrow. I don't really want to return them and if there is something easy that I can do to fix the issue?
Hi Melissa. I don't really know the answer to this and I'm sorry to hear it. They sound maybe too big? Can you buy a pair of inner soles to try, they're cheap at the supermarket, maybe $2-3 a pair.
Or, if that doesn't work call the phone number for David Jones that's on the website for trying the sizes, and ask them. The sales girl I had was excellent.
Good luck Melissa, hope the innersoles work, Rosanna.
Thanks RosannaB. I don't think that they are too big as they are too tight to put an inner sole in. I suspect that there isn't enough arch support. I had first found out about these at the David Jones Sydney store where the sales lady fitted me for size and prepared this order herself.
Hi Melissa, I'm sorry to hear your ballet flats aren't fitting you right. Can you perhaps share us some photos of the shoes on so we can suggest further? It'd be great if you can send them through hunter@shoesofprey.com. We'll wait for your message, Melissa. :)
Hi There, I'm considering getting a pair of shoes made for my wedding. Just two quick questions though: 1. do you allow the shoes to be made from material not advertised on the website? I was hoping to have my shoes made from my fiances family tartan (he's Scottish), 2. comfort is probably the most important thing to me, what materials do you make your shoes from and what do you do to improve comfort?
Thanks so much for your help!
Hi Holly, Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! At the moment, we are not set up to accommodate materials that aren't part of our range. All our materials have to go through quality testing before we can add them to our range and on to production. I'm so sorry.
As for the materials we make the shoes from, we have a wide range from leather to silk and textile. I personally find suede and velvet as the softest. New shoes are usually stiff at first but stretching the shoes at home usually works. You can also have them conditioned by a cobbler. :)
Hello I have just heard about your company. I have a great love for pumps, however can rarely find ANY in my size 15 WW. Do you accommodate this within a 1'2" heel height?

Thank you
Gloria M
Hi Gloria,
We offer 'Wide' (C-D) and 'Extra-Wide' (E-EE) fittings in our most popular styles - except for sandals and pointed flats. These options are available for selection at the checkout. The closest heel height we offer is 1.4 inch. :)
Hi, I have bought quite a few of your beautiful shoes, perhaps 7 or 8 pair (lost count!) and love my shoes. However I went online to design a new pair just recently and discovered that you no longer do wide fittings for many of the designs. I find this so disappointing. Is this going to be your new policy? If so, it is such a shame as surely those of us with difficult to fit feet have been your biggest supporters as you have been growing your business. Now that Shoes of Prey is so successful are we to be "left behind and forgotten"? I really hope not. Perhaps this is just a momentary stage the company is going through. Please tell me that this is not so.
Regards,
Christine.
Hi Christine, Thanks for getting in touch. Width calibration are still up for most styles except for sandals and our pointed heels. In response to feedback from our shoe-loving community and in order to offer a consistent service and fit across the board to all of our valued customers, we’re revolutionizing the way we craft shoes. These goals are crucial to Shoes of Prey and this is a very exciting period for us. However, it also means we'll have to set certain limitations and probably won't be able to offer things we were able to accommodate before - at least for a period until we hit our goals of sizing consistency, quality control and capacity goals. Ultimately we’re aiming to use our own methods and our own molds, but at a greater capacity to keep up with growing demand.
These goals are crucial to Shoes of Prey, and once achieved the plan is to move on to product development. Once product development takes the spotlight, the goal will be not only to produce more variety and new models but also incorporate adjustments and offerings to all styles. We definitely owe our success to all our customers and so I completely understand how you feel about these changes and I'm sorry, Christine. It’s a very exciting time for us but challenging too, so I truly hope you can bear with us as we grow. :)
I have just heard of your company. I have a very narrow foot sometimes I wear a AAA other times AAAA which are very hard to find. I am 80 years old and as we get older our padding in our feet gets thinner so most of the time my feet are killing me when I dress up. Where do I find out about these shoes and do they come in these sizes? Would appreciate knowing where I can buy them also.
Hi there! While we can make our most popular styles of shoes in Narrow (A) widths I have to be honest and let you know that anything beyond this is not achievable for us right now. The reason for this is that the width of the shoe is constrained by the fixed size of the last (the foot shaped piece of wood or plastic that the shoe is made around). I'm sorry!
We would love to try making some shoes for you to see if our Narrow fitting is the the right fit for you. We have a great returns policy, so if you receive your shoes and they are too wide for you we will happily provide a full refund for their return.
Hi I have tried of contact this company varies ways and I havent had a response. Please email me - jloh85@hotmail.com
Hi Jenny! My apologies you have not received any response. It looks like someone from the team emailed you last Friday. I'll email you again to sort this out. :)
