Hi all, How are everyones insurance claims? I will be disputing my vmia insurance with vcat as they are not accepting much in my case. Hope everyone else is proceeding well with the building insurance. If not we should be in touch maybe through a whats app to help support each other.

Did anyone end up hearing anything back in reguards to all this?

Yea. So the company has creditors coming together to wind them up. The next hearing is 13th July

Hi Mira, Yes l have heard the same from staff members from Snowdon trades are not being paid l have lost another site manager also site supervisor and my current site manager who was given my property 2 weeks ago has informed me he is finishing up with Snowdon end of next week. I have been on liquidation damages since 21st Feb and can not see any effort into progressing to finish my property. Absolute nightmare of a company who have no regard to their customers. The directors should be ashamed of themselves.

They are now delaying my windows. They said the bricklayers were coming 27th april and on 28th april, the told nme they have to get the windows done first.

They are going under I've been told. I've paid an initial deposit of $2500 and nothing has happened. No one will tell me when construction will commence. Snowden homes won't talk to me until I pay my build deposit. No way I will be doing that after reading these reviews. I've been told by multiple sources in the industry they are closing down. They owe multiple suppliers money and are avoiding responsibility. I waited 3 years for my land to settle. Was promised by Hamilton that build will start 3 months after contract is signed and nothing yet. Il be forfeiting my deposit and going with another builder

Aida, if you can leave the contract please do it asap. All of us are stuck. I habe a frame that is out there for 3 months and nothing is happening

Do we get our deposit back if we cancel our contract. Supposed to finish built end of last year. Haven't start yet. Very hopeless builder. Is there any way we can put complain or claim our deposit from insurance if they dont return our deposit

I dont think you can get the deposit back...

I bought a house and land package end of 2020. Land settle Feb 2021. I was told I would be in the house by Christmas. So I sold my house and moved in with family and put everything in storage. Here we are end June 2022 and I still dont have a builders permit. My block of land was already titled when I bought it. The last 2 - 3 months all I keep getting told is that the warranty insurrance is delaying the process as they are staggering the policies due to a backlog. I have paid around $12000 as a deposit and cant afford to lose that sort of money. I am over all their excuses.

I believe you can get your deposit back through their insurance, I have just contacted my broker, as soon as i have seen news.com, we have been waiting for two years to have our built, we have also gone through two site managers, we are pensioners thanks to Snowdon and Hamilton we will not be able to get another loan for another build,

I have filed a complaint two weeks ago a against them and waiting the response from DBDRV. Hope if we can make more complaints about this company maybe then they will take some actions.

Mira . This is so frustrating.. we are in the same situation.. since September last year we have been told about timber delays. Till now . We are so stressed. We asked them that why are happy to buy timber on our own . No matter the price . Poor community. I hate this company

Well, my site supervisor, the only one who is responsive and keeping us updated just resigned. I have no idea what is going on now.

Yeah, I've been waiting since August for timber. They keep telling me lies with each delay letter they send. In October they told me it was ordered in September and then November/December it was stuck at the docks, so where is it now?

I've had 2 site supervisors and they've both quit. I've now been waiting since they've opened on the 10th for a new one to be assigned.

How did you find out what number you are in the list?

I pressured them. In august they told me i am number 15 on the list. In november i was bumped to number 49. They built 2 display houses last june/july but they did not give us any timber. I have a groupcbat with 2 others in the same boat. Text/whatssap me 041101941

Hi Mat, Julius, but his last day is this Friday. Previously was peter. Who knows. They promised frame will be up mid Jan but now they are saying we are only getting the materials 22nd Feb. One whole year and frame is still not up.

Hi Mira, l was worried it was Zaine as he is my 3rd site supervisor and he actually seems like a decent bloke. My home is nearly finished about a weeks worth of work to be done however its been like that since late October. My building contract will expire in a months time. If the house isn't complete l will take legal action against Snowdon for compensation. Everyone is entitled to object to an extension to their contracts l would encourage everyone involved to do so.

Yea I have been rejecting the extensions and I have submitted a complaint to DBDRV as well. I am waiting for DBDRV to get back to us. Both our site sups were really nice. They really tried their best and return phonecalls and answer our queries. Construction managers i think have the most info but they are sometimes rude (mine is a bit grumpy). I feel bad for the office girls, so far we have had 3 because they keep quitting.

I think they lie all the time. All the good people dont want to do it so they quit. They told me my frames will be up this month but now they told me supplier can only deliver end feb. They are dishonest. Just telling me this so i would shut up.

Also, they just built 2 display houses 5 months ago. They have raw materials to do that it seems.

Hi Mira, yes its the same with the customer consultants l too am on my 3rd consultant. Good idea to get DBDRV lets hope it get snowdon moving for you.

Hellom8, looks like we are all living the same nightmare. My land titled April 2010 after 8 months we finally made it through the paper work. Slab was poured in Fed 2021 building contract was for the home to be completed by 5th Oct 2021. With extensions it has blown out to my guess late December 2021 for Snowdon to be in terms of the building contract. My home is nearly finished however not likely to be done before Xmas. Another 5 week extension will be added because of the xmas break which will leave snowdon properties about 1 week to complete the house after xmas. If the house is not completed within the building contract l will be seeking legal advise for compensation.

wow such a nightmare, shouldnt take this long to build a house other builders are so much quicker that i know of and actually communicate and answer questions all we get is not sure delayed and pass on to someone else, its sad to say but i regret ever going with them. i just hope my house gets done in the month they said on the contract or i will to look for legal adivse for compensation

They keep on delaying mine too. Our land was titled sept 2020. They kept on blaming nationwide timber shortage while every one of my neighbours houses are being built. Some of my neighbours have been staying there for months! I have submitted a complaint with DBDRV. Waiting for them to reply.

Hi, Is anyone building know if we can terminate the contracts on Frame stage as we been told the same story of timber shortage from Oct 2021 and what they have told that they will provide a delay damages but in final stages. Is that right?

They have told me the same that there are delays from the supplier but my advice to Emily would be to withdraw before you get stuck with them and save yourself from paying 10% of the construction cost. I will be terminating my contract with them very soon because they have wasted so much of my time and money.

Yes Emily. If you have paid the deposit less than 5k, its probably good that you just terminate with them. Otherwise you will have to wait 2-3 years before you can live in your house

Wow sorry to hear you are all going through this! I have written a letter to withdraw the contract. I have my lawyer involved. They have ignored me since Nov 14th.

Hopefully you are able to withdraw and move on. It's really a nightmare building with them. I am waiting for their office to reopen on 10th Jan and start chasing them for things again.

Please try and avoid them if you can. We have been waiting over 1 year for the house to be built. Doesn't matter who your site sup is because they will resign in the middle of construction. Please do not go with them.

Hi Mira. Have a solicitor look over your contract. We were able to get out of our contract with them as they did a few things that wasn’t legal.

I have been waiting for developers approval for nearly 4 months!! ..and so far Third re-submission

Hellom8, when submitting for Developers Approval its hard to determine the exact date of timeline as we need to wait for the design review panel to either approve or deny our submission. Development Approvals specify the design and other documents that the builders must follow – i.e plans for the location, design of the buildings, the structural details for the building such as the depth of footings, planning and construction plans. The approval process time is approx 14 days (depending on the developer as it can vary) however if denied, then we need to go back and then re-submit a further application to commence construction so sometimes it can take longer than others.

I’ve been waiting months. Snowdon aren’t proactive about it and keep getting knocked back over issues that snowdon should have identified earlier

It will depend on the land, if it's titled it should not take too long, but some builders have lots to do so they take the job when you sign the contract then they take hier time

My land was titled on September 2020. There is only a slab there and nothing else is done. Apparently waiting for timbre but the site supervisor have no idea when that's coming. This is a new site sup by the way. The one we originally had resigned. Is there a way you can avoid them altogether?

I had very bad experience with them they are not very honest people they built one of my home after only one year during the rain the roof tiles blown away ceiling collapse in one of the room they don't take any responsibility they said their warranty for the roof tiles only twelve month the product they use very low quality stay away

Do not! I am building in Bacchus Marsh! I’m 12 months in and now being told I might need a whole redesign rendering the last 12 months a waste of time!

Yes! We did first time home owners and first time building experience , we had the worse experience with them, the lack of service some times hardly heard from them weeks to months, the finishes tk the home was very poor, literally had water leak in the garage for weeks mould grew took them over a month to even get out, took them 6 months to fix the problem, our concrete had to be ripped up 3 times still not right the concrete still runs the wrong the water runs in the house, our tiles our walls let's just say everything nearly needs to be re worked on, even the flooring is being ripped up and replaced we been here for nearly a year and still having issues

i did but mine in the west not regional titled in december had my colour appointment other day now still waiting to sign uodated paper works then they will apply for building permit , so slow this company regret it :( making me so depresed

Hellom8, They will drag out the paperwork stay on them daily it took me nearly 12 months to get the build started. The building process isn't any quicker as l see homes that were 6 weeks after my build start just about finished. My build started in January and we have just completed the bricking. The inside of the build is what takes times so who knows when they will get it done. I am waiting for an email reply with 3 questions about my build and no response. Unprofessional company wish l never went into contract with them.

We have just finished building with Snowdon Homes - Horrible experience! Save yourself the heart ache and go with another builder. Poor quality build, took nearly 2 years from first colour app. It has been 4 months and they still have not gotten back to us about all the maintenance issues.

same our title was titled and settlement done in december and still no slap and waiting for the drawings to be on paper :( other builders are building quicklu ours taking long. i feel like we done a big mistake choosing these. dont know what to do

Hi Mira are u guys still waiting for the timber. Because they poured our slab in August so no hope yet when they gonna start construction. I wish i had seen these reviews before signing my contract.

Don't go with them please as you can see all these reviews, I saved all my money for 4 years as a single person and approached them in 2017 at Wyndham Vale display home, explained my situation. The lady from their reception was very friendly, understandable, kind and feel for others. She offered few blocks in Wyndham Vale and within 2 days said it's all gone then convinced me to go get in Bacchus Marsh as they had some available blocks there, titled and ready to start construction, finally with half mind I agreed. That was the only option for me as I had no one here to help me and never done this before so I trusted them, I went to see the block and liked it so she asked me to pay $2500 for deposit which I did and she said paper work was going to start and pay $4000 to get the soil tests, building permit and everything get done, I transferred the money. Waiting was long, after 1 month I called her for more update but no response, I went to see her, she was not in the office finally I wanted to do something so I decided to rang the estate manager of the block wondering if he can help me but the result was surprising, that block sold 3 weeks ago(Snowdon told me that a deposit paid under my name already) to someone else and asked if she mentioned you about another block in your estate and my name, he didn't know me or this lady from Snowdon. I even called the owner( I guess) told all these stories and he started ignoring my calls and never got my money back. Things have been changed in 4 months waiting time and i had to change my job with less hours and the town then I had to cancel my nearly approved home loan. Because of them all my plannings and dreams were completely destroyed. I have all the receipts, recorded calls I made to her, emails etc if I go take legal action. I picked a wrong builder, I don't know if we can call them builders. After these 3 years now I'm nearly getting into that point for building my first home.

Our first home We bought a package spec home through Hamilton and snowdon built the home, our site supervisor [Name Removed] was very difficult to deal with we pointed things out that are really poor to standards and they still have not fixed anything our driver way an porch is way under standard guidelines the exposed aggregate isn't even exposed , our front door we can't even open it and the door frame is all damaged, our roof tiles are all cracked and we have a hole in the roof and the morter is all broken our garage wall had a leak behind it and its been nearly 3 months they still haven't fixed the wall and we now have mould only 4 month old our house, we had our 3 month inspection and they still have not gotten back to us 1 month later , not even answering our emails or phone calls, we had Darebecca come do a side inspection and they found our floors are all unlevel none of our wet areas sealed properly, our stone kitchen bench is sagging off the wall, our tiled all in the kitchen you can clearly see its un level and looks terrible, our paint in the hall way entrance looks like a kindergarten kid done it, our wall in the 2nd bedroom has separation, our brick work to the garage is all our of whack and has big holes through it. The list goes on and on and they have done absolutely nothing but only change the cladding!

I beg you please do not go with Snowdon, we are currently building with them and going through a hellish experience. I would not want anyone else to suffer what we have. We are 4-5months over a contract date, delays at every stage of the build and we don't know when this horrible experience will end.
