Can a society one Loan be paid out at a particular bank. Rather than BPAY. I’m a little bit old school and technology is not a strength

SocietyOne
SocietyOne   DM

Hi Jimmy, thank you for your question! While we do not have a bank where you can pay the loan to directly, if you get the BPAY details of your loan and take them into your bank they should be able to assist you with the payment.

Kind regards, Ash - Customer Service

I have paid for a holiday 6 weeks in the Netherlands spend a week in France and I have a loan interest free for 12000.00 Dollars with I am paying of 230 Dollars a fortnight I have been able to keep up with all my payments rental phone and electricity up to date I don’t think it is the amount your income is but how you manage your money because I have two pensions coming in different times I would be much better if I had a credit card so I can make my payments through credit card and pay my credit card on the end of the month from my pension so I don’t have to coordinate my payments when my pensions come in.

Has anyone else received an initial quote at 9.99% with SocietyOne only finding out days later that you've missed the deadline for supporting documents although you were not at fault? It must be a tactic to make more money because when you resubmit for a new quote, suddenly interest rate has gone up much higher to 12.39%!!??

The gateway of obtaining your bank statement? is it safe. As I have never used anything like that before

Annoyed & Sad

Yeah it’s pretty safe. If you are still unsure or not comfortable, I would call them first to see what are the alternative options to sending in your bank statements

I applied for a loan which took longer because of delay with uploading bank statement.. kept receiving generated emails requesting that I needed to do this still.. haven’t heard anything back since and very disappointing

Prof.
Prof.

Hi Lynda, I would like to advise you that beware of the contract, they changed condition and interest rate just before the released loan, in this case, you may have pressure to sign the contract. Never sign the contract until you see the contract and get advice properly. Read contract line by line, word by word. Also look for other options.

The same happened to me. I had trouble getting the doccuments through online & wasnt comfortable with it. Then they kept sending me messages asking for them. Glad now I didnt get the loan with them.

Why doesn’t society one not send out electronic statements

SocietyOne
SocietyOne   DM

Hi Phil, thank you for your question! SocietyOne currently does not have a facility to send out routine statements. However, one can be provided to you at any time upon request. If you need a statement, please email customer.service@societyone.com.au and one of our friendly team will send you a statement of your loan within one business day.

Kind regards, Ash @ SocietyOne

Because society doesn't want to show how much interest they are taking, they are taking interest form 2 weeks after the loan was released, Your loan interest as the contracted end of year payment. but they are taking interest from the beginning, in this case you may charge 4~5% more than you agreed with interest rate. Careful!!!!

Is it standard that you contact the bank in behalf of the borrower for their bank statements?

SocietyOne
SocietyOne   DM

Hi Kristie, thank you for your question! We recommend all applicants use the bankstatements.com portal to submit their bank statements to us electronically using the Ilion-backed portal. When you enter your details, the bank receives a notification to send us your statements.

If you choose to send your statements to us manually, you will have to email them in PDF format. We will not contact the bank directly on your behalf.

If you have any further queries, please email customer.service@societyone.com.au.

Kind regards, Ash @ SocietyOne.
