I have the same issue - mine actually smells like cat pee. I have washed it twice, and still stinks. I can't wear it, it makes me feel sick!

Same for us!! My kids are so disappointed but they are unwearable due to an intense musty smell

It’s a big oversized hoodie/blanket. They have them for indoors as well as outdoors. They sell ones for the footy ones for camping & waterproof ones too. Best to look on the oodie website.

My order still hasn’t been shipped and I still haven’t received a shipment date at all just keep getting the run around from them in emails and never getting an answer I’ve been waiting 13 days and still haven’t got a date for when I’ll get my package

I ordered 12 days ago and it still hasn’t shipped. Bought it for my daughter who is the defence force and deploys on Friday. Sadly she will not be taking it. By the time she gets back it will be warming up. So disappointed. DO NOT ORDER IF YOU NEED IT QUICK

Just an update, We received our Oodies today and we are very happy with the items, however the Mystery Oodie, which seems to be an older design seems slightly thicker and better quality. Love the designs though. Once dispatched shipping was really quick. I got the email yesterday to say it had been shipped and it arrived mid morning today. So ordered 17th May. Received 31st May. Hopefully everyone else won't be waiting too long!

My order was placed on the 21st and still awaiting delivery. Anyone else habe any updates if theirs has been delivered yet?

I think the same. I have a panda Oodie and is much thicker.

My husband bought me one and it says OO. My kids loved mine and kept stealing it, so I ordered them each one, and their labels say 'the oodie', not 'oo'. Very strange. The quality of mine is identical to theirs, except my daughter has the same avocado one I have, but the green in hers is a bit lighter.

I think ur husband bought you an off brand one as long as the quality is the same it should be half ugly . He was probably trying to save money or ordered from the wrong website

The new ones do say OO on them. My mum said the same, she didn't think it was genuine when I gave it to her and I was like 'well where does it say it's an oodie' — really poor choice for their brand.

My Koala one has OO on it. Bought from The Oodie website so the one your husband bought you is legit xx

Wash it with cold water and a mild detergent to smooth it

ugh im so sad to hear that, that is still an issue. Both my hoodies have such an intense chemical smell, and it's past the return date. I already washed it twice and it still remains, and I don't want to wash it too much or it won't be as soft. How have they not fixed this issue??

Mine seems to have dissipated after machine washing three times. I also contacted customer service to provide feedback on this issue. My guess is that it has to do with the vacuum sealing of the packages. But it’s frustrating! Cause you’re right, mine isn’t as soft now.

Mine smells terrible, like cat pee its really strong. Its making the room smell, its for a gift so I dont want to wash it . It also has no Oodie logos on it, its a gift for a teenager and she will have no idea that its a proper Oodie , it could have been bought anywhere. Very dissapointed, especially as Im waiting for more that havent arrived yet despite being ordered before this one. Wish I hadn't bothered now, these things are a major purchase for me, I expected quality.

I have just received my Lovehearts Oodie but when I took it out of the package the inside smells very musty like its been somewhere dusty really odd I didn't expect it to smell like that I'm thinking of washing it at 60 degrees low spin or no spin as I can wring it out by hand and hang it out to dry to freshen it up. Can anybody else give me advice on how to get rid of this smell it's awful like it's been stuck in a lorry. Please help me

I washed it twice but the smell remains. I can’t wear it at all as the smell made me headache.

I have soaked my oodie overnight in luke warm water a big splash of vinegar and some mild laundry detergent. And some other liquid soap that's supposed to refresh washing. Then cold cycle in washing machine with mild detergent and the smell is gone thank God.

Omg ours smells so bad also. It even made the washing machine smell like the chemical oodie.

We just got one for Christmas and it stinks too - we can't even put it in the wardrobe it smells that bad.

Bought a 6 pack of oodies with some friends and got it (a navy one) today, I also bought the rick and morty spring oodie about 4 months ago, my new one feels noticeably thinner and might be shorter (haven’t officially checked yet) the tags say OO instead of the OODIE like my other one does. I came here looking for the answer to this too. Came in original packaging just like my first, and bought it from the same website, but the quality and branding are completely different!! Am yet to check with my friends if they also have OO ones.

Hi it says oo on my Lovehearts Oodie labels too and on my husbands loony tunes labels also on the attached cardboard label it shows oo it states its designed in Australia but made by the Davie Clothing Pty Ltd Made in China, this is shown on the fabric labels inside the Oodie

Me too! I thought it was fake! Bit annoying since I paid extra to get the original oodie but it doesn’t have any oodie Branding at all! Could have got it in tescos for £20! Same thing

That is odd. What sort of smell? I've received 3 oodies so far and none have smelt

It’s like a very acrid chemical smell. I hasten to add I bought two Oodies and on opening the 2nd one, that is fine. Strangely enough the horrible smelling one carries a Highly Flammable bright red label but the one that doesn’t smell hasn’t got this. Anyway, despite the “cold wash, no tumble dry label” and other reports of people washing in cold water and the smell stayed, I decided to risk a 60 degree wash and fabric softener and then tumble dry the Oodie. It turned out fine, lovely and soft and the horrible smell almost gone. I only tumble dried it on a very low heat. Anyway everything is now fine!

I have just received my order of two oodies and have the same problem - absolutely reeks with a chemical smell, almost as plastic manufacturing gone wrong. Following your advise and have them in the wash now, fingers crossed it disappears

After the first wash the smell practically disappeared but as I said before I did wash it on its own on a 60 degree wash. I’ve since ordered more Oodies and some do turn up smelling awful. The only problem now is that some of these are Xmas gifts and I want people to be able to wear them on the day they open them so I’m having to wash/dry them to get rid of the smell and then carefully reapply the ribbon bow etc onto the Oodie. It’s a real shame that Oodie themselves don’t wash these ones rather than sending them out smelling like this!
