We're taking them to the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal for failing to rectify mistakes made. They just ignore request to rectify leaking bathrooms and initial incomplete roof installation which led to internal damage. Build with them as the homes are great design, but expect to fight for what you've paid for. Anyone else been down the path of reconciliation with Trevelle?

Yes.

We are still waiting for 90 day maintenance issues to be resolved.

We have some plumbing issues which need addressing.

I have had the same problems, water leaks in 5 places and terrible quality workmanship . They have poor quality control and a high turnover in trades , carpentry , plastering and painting second rate and after sales service non existent, they don't take responsibility for defects and resent having to correct quality issues , my suggestion is if you build with them pay for a building consultant to inspect works at each stage Nd don't pay them until you are totally satisfied or choose a builder with better reputation and resources

Our Head office and construction team has restructured since your home being built in 2012-2013. We are making effort to get issues addressed and fixed. We encourage client to do independent inspections and we also have our inspectors to check at critical stages to improve our quality assurance. Thanks for addressing the issues. We will make effort to improve our service.

yes, similar problems,we have them in the Dept. Fair Trading as I speak, the restructure failed to work.

lets see how they sort out our problems, could be a lot more to this latter

So Trevelle encourages clients to do independent inspections... It's a shame that clients are forced to do this multiple times and assume the cost of these inspections. Wouldn't it be much easier if Trevelle just built to the Australian Building Standards and Standards and Tolerances? How about you hire and retain professional trades so that the QA that is needed to be done by your site supervisors is kept to a minimum?

Nice to see that the service you endeavour to have improved in August 2016 has been ineffectual. No amount of Head Office or Construction Team restructuring can improve the lack of ethical behavour and dishonest culture that your company seems content on practicing.

They finally fixed our issues, well almost. Still a couple of minor items. The plumber they used on our build plumbed the water tank in back to front (seriously!) (shakes head lol). Really got to wonder how long they can stay in business...but I want them to. The home is a great design. The people that run the company though...I mean really? It could have been something special, not the wrecking ball it is.

Hi HongKongFuey,

we must have had the same plumber, inlet plumbed into the overflow pipe, when asked why it was like that, the reply was "I looks better that way" they walk among us!!!

cheers

I regret that was a bit too late to review these comments! I have already put many thousands dollars deposit on a house to be built with Trevelle Homes. Any good advice and suggestions if I still going along to build this house? Did anybody has building experiences recently with Trevelle Homes?

Hi! I built with Trevelle and had a really hard time towards the handover with them but now after the 90 days they have got their carpenter back to fix all the issues. Our house looks great so as long as you are on top of things and only release money at every stage only when you are happy. I'll have a nice house!

Hope this helps.

Thank you for reply! Shisheer Kishore. I am glad that you finally have your now home! You said that was a lot of mistakes during the built time, How did you resolve that? How about the timing? Was your house finished on time? How long did it to take to build double storys? How did you manage to follow up on each stage?

Has anyone recently started their build with Trevelle Homes ? or currently building with them ?

We are at a post tender stage and have not heard good things about them which is making us think twice about taking things any further !

underdone

I would rethink any dealings with Trevelle. We had no sunken floor in our theatre room.the wrong paint throughout the house, cracked driveway the supervisor does not answer your calls ,and they are soooo slow.charged $7k more for double ceiling to later find out I didn't need it.when I asked for a refund they conveniently said your site costs were an extra $6.5 k. The floor tiles are all smokey and dirty.

Please don't build with them

Beware.

I agree with underdone. Trevelle are a bunch of hillbillies with no experience . the quality of every aspect of their business is awful. they cannot be trusted. there are plenty of reputable builders out there , pick anyone but trevelle you will be sorry

Underdone - wow what can I say, sounds like an absolute nightmare ! We are at a crossroad right now having put time and money in to the process. Just with feedback like this (which it seems is common with people having gone through builds recently) it is really unsettling and steering us away from these guys. Frustrated !

Thanks for all the views. We are thinking of building a duplex with trevelle. The owner and the architect seem to be pretty switched on and have been very accommodating so far. We have not signed anything and we don't intend to unless we are absolutely sure that they are the ones. Please put as much feedback so we can decide.

Please don't build with Trevelle! We recently built a house with Trevelle and had a horrendous experience with them. Throughout the build the site was left unsecured and filled with rubbish. There were multiple mistakes throughout the build which would be considered significant. They delivered months past the contracted time frame, handed over an unfinished and poorly finished house, were difficult to communicate with throughout the build, and the site manager was dishonest. Our experience was the same as a number of other people building with the same company around us. There are a number of decent builders out there, and when we walk through other project homes we notice how poorly finished our house is.

jobnotdone - thank you for you feedback. We have since moved away from Travelle. Although losing a few thousand dollars in the process along with approx 6 months of our lives we'll never get back, I think we are better for it given the feedback here and elsewhere.

Anyone thinking about building with Trevelle , I got 1 very clear message for you just like every other person on here just turn around and steer clever from them they are so bad it's indescribable we are building with them and our home is 3 months past the due date as promised and on paper and still far from finished and they have terrible brikies and tilers ,carpenter is good , but overall they are so so slow and no one turns up on site for months and we constantly push them and take days off to go to their office to have meetings with [name removed] to get answers and nothing happens and still nothing is happening even though they are 3 months over their finished date we have seen fair trading australia now and will see what happens but Please Do Not Build With Them To Save You This Pain we Are Going Through Its terrible !!!!!

We are currentley building with Trevelle. Communication is good- when they want their money...... Very very slow, sometime weeks with no work??? Bad weather and public holidays make convienent excuses for legitimate delays. Not impressed at this stage. Steve where are your building? Would lie to touch base with you to compare our progress?

Carolyn Louise
Carolyn Louise

We are very pleased with the product and the flexibility of the customer service area but the site manager is disorganised and doesn't seem to know how the whole project fits together. We are building a custom duplex and the design is great and the development of the plans to suit our needs was excellent but the progress of the development really leaves a lot to be desired - wrong doors ordered and installed, site manager discussion with us about our need to build retaining walls before they are able to do driveway concreting, something that was never discussed before, on a progress walkthrough told that tiling would be completed by a certain date but in reality was not completed anywhere near the date stated to 5 people at walkthrough, weeks when there is no progress on the building, messy worksite. Its like the site manager needs a secretary or is it that they do not employ suitably experienced staff?
