to not turn on after a few months of symptoms indicating a faulty power supply unit or main board.

Just have a google of “lg oled PSU” and see how common it is. I may try to repair it but as OLEDs are by far the best looking TVs, I’ve just ordered a new one on sale with 5y warranty, s#cker for punishment it seems haha.

LG did state that extend the warranty past 1year by 600 days?? (Can’t remember the exact number) due to Australian consumer law stating items of value must last “a reasonable length of time”. 5 years for a $3-4k tv is cr#p when cheap butts LED last for ever. Even crapper when the most important thing, the panel, seems to still be flawless but cheap parts designed to fail, fail.

Update, after lodging a formal complaint LG replaced the 2 boards, then the panel. So make sure you fight for your consumer protections people!

outstanding. However the sound is miserably tinny and so you really must connect up either a soundbar or home theatre. My TV has worked well but with one qualification: it doesn't play well across an HDMI ARC connection with my Denon home theatre amplifier. LG support was of limited help only, assisting me to identify what the trigger for the problem is but offered no solution. Instead, I had to work around the problem, which eventually worked. Overall, it is a great TV with easy to apply settings and outstanding picture quality. If you target a slightly smaller screen size (65in), price drops significantly, but the 83in size certainly makes for a true home cinema.

50/50 On A Good Day – First - fair disclosure - I am a Malfunction Magnet. This LG Smart TV has a brilliant picture, just fantastic, but for me that's about where it… Read more

ends. Its slow......very slow.

Get used to silly circles spinning for eons every time you ask it to do something like TV guide, wait awhile, wait a little while longer (hey like my circle spinning endlessly?) wait a bit longer, oops too late missed the program I was trying to find out about.

Its shockingly slow. I guess a decent CPU means they make less money so its rubbish for me...except now I'll never buy an LG TV ever again...oops less money for you LG! And its upset me enough to come on here and write about it....maybe even less money for you?!

Here's a tip, make decent products. Sure it looks decent, shame about the software/hardware.

Changing channels, you thought TV guide was bad? Press the channel change button.....nothing happens, wait a bit... nope nothing, ok press again....still nothing....geez man, press again (I'm only trying to go up 1 channel) and now it suddenly goes up 3 channels (for the 3 presses it was ignoring). Infuriating. Now I have to go back 2 channels to get to where a normal good TV would be because it would change channel when I requested instead of ignoring my channel presses. (Which I must of pressed correctly or it would not suddenly go 3 channels if I was not pressing properly).

It updates itself quite often and I think oh good maybe they've sped it up and fixed it .....NOPE.

The stupid remote mouse function, another infuriating thing about this TV. Do the people who come up with these ideas ever actually use them? A millimeter wobble from me at my end is a 300mm wobble at the TV end which means I have no hope of getting the stupid pointer onto the item I'm trying to select, its ridiculous that I have to brace my arm against my legs or the lounge to steady the remote to be able to try to hit the mark. My son has to do the same with his LG. Utterly ridiculous.

Why is it that the manufacturers now want TV's to turn on onto a home screen full of rubbish more than half of which I will never use? Its a TV first and foremost, turn on on the last TV channel I was watching. If I want something else I'll ask for it (shame it'll take 3 ignored presses of the remote to get it.....very slowly). In fairness here LG have a turn on on TV setting which I have set and was very glad to find, only for the TV to ignore that setting about half the time. Especially if I was watching a DVD or using the computer I have hooked up to the TV.

I would not buy another LG TV I'm afraid. Its not a patch on my old Panasonic Plasma for user friendliness. Shame Panasonic appear to not be making TV's anymore.

and fully screened. The external screen doors are always closed unless we open them to walk outside then close them behind us. There are no children or grandchildren in the house to leave the door open. LG say its an environment problem and won't do anything to fix it even though it is less than 12 old and the TV is still under warranty. I say it a manufacturing problem that allows the insects access to the internal screen. I have 3 other TV's from 2 to 8 years old that are used almost every day and they don't have any dead insects inside the screens. I would not recommend this TV to anyone and will not be purchasing anymore LG products. Don't waste your money on this TV unless you want to have black spots over the screen for the life of the TV.

a scaled down, smaller remote that has NO NUMERIC PAD. So rather than choosing a channel by pressing two numbers, you are forced to use a very user UNfriendly, with ponderous, cascading menus involving many more button presses. Pointer sometimes wanders over the screen increasing difficulty. And don't even think about watching any programme or movie with "Searching" in the title. Because it then goes in to search mode. No doubt LG managed to save a few dollars on this abbreviated remote control. I won't make the same mistake again.

LG TV Locked Up. Terms! – I bought a LG TV in September 2023. Turning it on yesterday, it REFUSES to function as a TV! It’s locked up presumably because LG has decided to… Read more

change its Terms. And (it would appear) if customers DO NOT agree to these new terms, their TV ceases to function as a TV.

LG! When customers buy a TV from you, do reserve the right to change your terms, and render their TV’s useless if they fail to agree?

LG. Do you pride yourself on customer focus? If so, why don’t you provide a brief summary of reasons for your changes? We’re living in an era where governments ban Foreign Telcos due to a perceived risk of data gathering! Customers are understandably wary of accepting changes to things like Smart TV’s that may have the potential to gather and report data.

Why don’t you clearly explain in an easy to understand manner why you need to make these changes to TV’s that CUSTOMERS OWN and have PAID FOR? And if we disagree with YOUR CHANGES that we had no knowledge of at the time of purchase, will you refund our money?

Looks like there are others who feel this way!

Great quality TV – Our 2014 LG 65UB980T screen went black, only delivering sound and as technology has moved on in 10 years we decided to replace rather than repair.… Read more

After reviewing 65" options (HiSense, Samsung, TCL), we settled on the LG 65" QNED86 as the OLED technology, although it has great reviews, is still too expensive. We set a budget and looked at the usual discount TV providers before finding one at our price point as the box was damaged. Paid on delivery after inspection and the only problem was registering the product. A useful tip to get the serial number after the TV is affixed to the wall bracket is to press the mute button 3 times. The TV has a better dark contrast than the old TV and works fine. It has the providers 1 year warranty so we feel it was a good buy, even without the manufacturers warranty.

web. The only feature I have yet to use is the recording mode which will happen very soon as I purchased a 32 gig USB stick today. The magic wand remote is quite fancy, the voice control for programme changes is a novelty but old habits die hard and I tend to select the channel buttons most times. Picture quality is the best by far compared to previous models, that is to be expected of course. Hats off to technical progress. Sound quality is great, and I only use my surround sound system for movies, for regular TV the inbuilt speakers are fine. Zero complaints so far in all aspects.

Good 43" LG Qned81 TV but small fonts – This is LG 43" QNED81 TSA 2024 range manufactured in Indonesia & purchased in Australia. And this review has been updated after one week of use. As… Read more

our 5 years old Samsung UA43ru7100 bought in December 2019 had failed we this time opted to buy the LG 43" QNED81 TSA based on our previous experience of watching the Paris Olympics on the LG 55" QNED81 SRA 2023 in Europe.

The 43" Qned81 has a quite good picture and reasonable sound. It's not absolutely the best in all aspects but is a reflection of the price.

The cursor of the magic remote is not convenient in the use.  Therefore, the next day we bought a traditional non-magic LG remote, the "One for all" URC7115 for a AU$60 that works anyway well with this TV. We prefer to use the old fashioned remote.

We also found that the TV program guide has a quite small font. The attached first photo shows the program guide on the Samsung 43" and the second shows the same guide on the LG that is definitely less readable due to smaller fonts. My attempts to change fonts failed, because the existing option on the earlier Qned81 2023 version TV seems now in the version 2024 to be removed.

Generally our early opinion is as follows:

PROS: ▪️good picture. ▪️includes the LG Plus free channels matching the Samsung Plus free channels. ▪️easy connect to Internet & works very well.

CONS: ▪️ only 60 Hz refresh rate. Note that the 55" Qned81 SRA of the 2023 range had 120 Hz refresh rate and was of a superior quality. ▪️sluggish OS, probably due to addition of AI with slow responses. ▪️fonts of the TV program guide are quite small and can't be changed to a bigger. Comparison: _______Picture 1 - Samsung 43". _______Picture 2 - LG Qned81 TSA 2024. ▪️and inconvenient "Magic" remote control. But this TV works well with the traditional remote control.

It would be appreciated if LG in the next software update will include an option in the settings for selecting of font size for the TV program guide.

We hope that this 43" LG QNED81 will last much longer than our previous two Samsung 43" TVs used in our bedroom that lasted only 5 years.
