Washing machine broke down after 13 months and had to wait for a while to get a replacement. Please strongly reconsider if you are thinking of buying a product from AEG Show details

I purchased an AEG T8DHE842B heat-pump dryer in May 2018. At the time it retailed for around $1,800 and was positioned as a premium appliance, so I… Read more

expected durability and strong after-sales support.

In July 2021, the dryer suffered a drum/motor failure and was repaired under warranty. In September 2025, the same fault recurred — the dryer powers on, but the drum no longer spins, making the unit unusable.

I contacted AEG to request a repair under Australian Consumer Law, given the recurrence of a fault affecting a core function. The handling of this was disappointing: - Long wait times and inconsistent communication - Being told the issue needed “escalation”, followed by no meaningful callback - Ultimately being offered only a paid out-of-warranty service, on the basis that the manufacturer’s warranty had expired and the unit had already been repaired once

AEG refused to repair the dryer at their cost or offer any meaningful remedy. I escalated the matter externally, but was ultimately left with no resolution.

What’s most frustrating is not just the failure itself, but the lack of accountability for a recurring defect in a premium appliance. A dryer at this price point should reasonably last longer than seven years without repeated motor/drum failures, and I would not have purchased it had I known this would be the outcome.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend AEG if you value long-term reliability.

Disappointed – I have had this dishwasher for five months and had time to get to know it. I am disappointed because the first deciding reason in choosing it was for… Read more

the cutlery drawer. My previous brand dishwasher had an outstanding easy to use cutlery drawer but with the AEG drawer the cutlery does not fit into the narrow tight slots. The cutlery sits on top of the spikes, loosely and falling out of alignment every time I move the drawer. The cutlery does not fit the basket according to the illustration by the manufacturers. Also, the dishwasher is really smelly. I have never experienced this with any other dishwasher. I often do the quick rinse setting to eliminate the odor which helps a little but not fully. I wash every 2nd day, being only two of us in the house which is the case for all dishwashers I've used. Otherwise I like other aspects of it's design and function.

Cooks so nicely. Power modulation is so quick, virtually instant response. Lots of little things combine tomake a lovely cooking experience. Boiling… Read more

water for pasta from cold using power boost takes about 90 seconds (obviously depends on the amount of water more water = slower. less water = faster).

By comparison, our previous conventional electric cooktop took about 7-9 minute ballpark for the same amount of water in the same Tefal saucepan.

Gas cooktops in previous rentals took around 4-5 minutes for a similar amount of water in the same saucepan to come to boil.

From what I gather, ones experience with induction is heavily dependant on whether ot not your saucepans are Induction compatible. Our Tefal handleless saucepans (see my other review for details on them) have been Induction ready for years, possibly even design optimised for induction with big thick bases so maybe that helps a lot with getting the power out of induction.

Back to the cooktop..

Power modulation is quick, not quite instantaneous but close enough. Bump it up a few seconds later its there bubbling away, bump it down, moments later the heat is down.

For example, cooking poached eggs is a breeze - boil the water using power boost, drop it to power level 7. poached eggs ready to serve in less than 7 minutes from cold water start.

The slide to cook function using the left side is cool. The power is set to hot close to the front, middle power in the middle and simmer at the back. You just physically place the saucepan to the power level you need at the time. It's hard to really explain but it works well in practise

Individual timers on each of the 5 coils are nice.

Individual "Burner" controls are nice too - our old electric cooktop you had to go into each "burner" one by one to adjust them which was a nuisance when two or more pots on the cooktop. This is just touch and set as needed.

The pause function is nice as it keeps food warm but not cooking which is good when sequencing food ready for serving.

There is a useful residual heat indicator for each coil to let you know if the cooktop is still hot.

And if you put a pot on the cooktop, a light will illuminate to show you which control it is for.

The much else to really comment on - it just works, and is fast and responsive. Not really sure what else is required out of a cooktop anyway. Too early to know on long term reliability but being from a brand under the Electrolux group, I expect many many years. Time will tell but so far so good.

Rubbish – Induction is excellent but this cooktop is not. The glass top isn't robust enough: ours broke twice, once just from a drinking glass falling on it.… Read more

The “turbo” button is too close to the "off" button, so it's easy to accidentally ramp up the heat and burn food and saucepans. Worst of all, after 7 years the entire thing stopped working and AEG want $1200 for repairs, or $1800 for a replacement cooktop. Buy something else.

Excellent cooktop – I like this induction cooktop a lot. I chose it to replace a Bosch one with the most awful fiddly controls which I could not tolerate any longer… Read more

after struggling with it for almost a year. I wanted a Miele as I’d had one before, liked it and knew the controls were simple, but the cutout dimension didn’t quite work. So I chose this one instead, and am very pleased with my choice. The beveled edge is most attractive, and having no frame also makes it super easy to clean. Most importantly, the unit is as easy to use as my previous induction tops (excluding the dreadful Bosch). Simple — just switch the unit on (one touch), then select the plate and power level. Even easier, pop a pan on the chosen plate and it highlights that one for me, so I only need to select the heat level. Increase, decrease or turn off individual plates is just one touch. (The Bosch? Don’t ask — multiple touches of a tiny target, grr) I agree with another reviewer the front controls are a bit close to the plates and as you aren’t supposed to put pans on the controls, this is an issue. It won’t recognise a small stainless steel saucepan I have used without issue on another cooktops, amd aim disappointed about that, so it isn’t perfect. But to me these are minor gripes compared to its ease of use and sleek design. Fast, efficient, easily cleaned, attractively styled and so so easy to use. Everything a good induction cooktop should be.

Great washing machine, useless dryer – I have been using my new washer/dryer for a few weeks now. The clothes wash beautifully, although some cycles take many hours which is not ideal,… Read more

overall I am happy with the washing side, it is gentle and functions as expected - unfortunately this is where the satisfaction stops and the disappointment starts. I was surprised to see that the dryer indicated over three hours to dry five towels, and even more surprised to find that after those three hours the towels were no dryer than when the spin cycle ended after the wash. I gave the dryer another hour only to pull out steaming, damp towels and hang them to dry manually. At almost $3K, the price of the unit was justified only because I desperately needed the dryer function to get me out of trouble on those rainy days as I don’t have the space to hang in my small unit, to say it didn’t deliver would be an understatement. Incredibly disappointed and deeply remorseful about this purchase.

Pleased with purchase – Extensive research. AEG not stocked by all retailers. Very few have operational models. Winnings had operational units and the salesman… Read more

demonstrated how quiet the operation was in comparison with Bosch. We liked the overall functions, the appearance and WiFi connectivity, plus the reverse tumbling and easy access for cleaning the condenser filter. Drain hose is problematic. Its a little 8mm diameter clear plastic hose that does not fit the usual spigot of S traps. I had two plumbers try to assist me in Bunnings but nothing was available. Major oversight that others have also observed. I rigged up a left over dishwasher drain hose connector and drilled a hole in a wine cork. Quiet in operation and we have had no issue with damp articles. Nice feature is WiFi connectivity to phone and also washer. Just load washed articles into dryer and press start. AEG had a sale offer with discounts on washer and dryer, plus free stacking kit and free installation plus 10% discount if both washer and dryer purchased together.

benchtop overhangs the oven, you can't read the dials. My 16 year old AEG oven has well lit dials and display and I'd expect that again. Not something i thought to check. It seems slow to heat up, the soft runners are not really necessary and cooking time seems slower than my old oven. Because I bought 2 ovens, I tried to return 1 ( unopened ) after i realised the problems and AEG would only do this with a 10 % surcharge. Pretty dissspointing customer service. I'll buy a cheap oven with lights next time.

made plastic painted stainless steel colour. Colour rubs off at the places where you need to touch to open the stuck doors. It looks like it is dirty and old. Also, it is not washing well. I need to wash by hand all baked on food. Drying is not happening at all. After booking service online with great difficulties, because of the faulty website and no one answers the phone, the repair person finally came on the 05/12/24. To repair the same fault under warranty that has been repaired last year. Repair men was nice and said he will be back in two weeks after he gets new parts. Two weeks later, I get no reply SMS from AEG, that my booking is cancelled due to the parts unavailability. No further contact from AEG. I rang their 1300 number and waited for more than 30 min few times. Finally 07/01/25 I managed to get someone on the phone and my dishwasher FFB72600PM is currently booked in for a service with the parts needed on the 21/1/2025. Which is a subject to change depending on the parts availability. Under Australian Consumer Laws, an appliance under warranty has to be repaired within the reasonable time or the consumer is entitled to replacement or refund. I am sure that the reasonable time is way past for this dishwasher.

Summary: This is our second AEG stove that has failed since March 2023. The stove does not do as it says it will and we have found the AEG customer… Read more

service experience subpar. We are in our third week now with no stove and no idea when our stove will be repaired or replaced.

Full review: Our AEG induction stovetop zones does not work well or at all. We first notified AEG of the issues we have in March 2025, less than a year from our AEG replacement stove.

We contacted AEG and eventually booked in a tradie to ascertain the issue. The issue was thought to be the left hand side component had failed, and another trade weeks later visited with the part. This part was not configured and therefore not working. Both trades, ironically, own gas stoves. And we now have no stove at all.

AEG customer service is perhaps the worst I have experienced. All we need is a part to be fitted and now into the third week of no stove - at all. We have not received any communication from AEG about when our stove will be repaired despite repeated attempts on our behalf to contact customer service. When customer service are contacted they are defensive and often without a clue about the issue. Unfortunately, it seems their main tactic is to delay our call another week. They do not respond to emails.

This model is a replacement for our AEG induction stovetop AEG IKE95471FB that failed in early 2024, we experienced the same level of poor customer service last year.

AEG if you read this, it would be good if you responded to all your customers who have faulty products with a willingness to fix the issues. If you cannot fix the issues, you should be offering to replace every faulty cooktop you have sold instead of stringing along customers. We use our stovetop every single day, not having a stove is impacting us significantly.

Pros: - looks good

Cons: - only really works on settings 6 and above on all three zones - makes a buzzing noise when heating - does not heat as fast like we expected on an induction - retains heat after use (our previous induction to AEG did not retain heat) - this is the second stovetop that has failed at our family home by AEG (this one is the replacement, and didn't make it to 12months) - customer service is often abrasive and unwilling (or unable ) to offer any support or forward movement to rectify the issue - customer service blames the installer when an AEG installed this stove under warranty - customer service placed us on hold for over 10mins to read the notes on our file - customer service hanging up or allowing the call to expire after 20mins on hold - customer service not answering emails - customer service delaying part replacement by saying "I will check up on this and give you a call next week", but then not calling - we cut our stone benchtop larger to accommodate the AEG cooktop, limiting our choices

Video shared, 1min of a 2:42min. The video shows an egg cooking, the author of this review is speaking and says that it has been on level 6 for about a minute. During the video the stove is put to level 9 which is a the highest numbered setting. The stove begins to buzz and the egg can be seen to gradually cook on the highest setting at level 9. The video shows other food cooking, lambs fry and bacon, and a pot of potatoes.

Fault with dryer has been found to be to do with a gas leak. AEG is offering to replace the dryer with a cheaper series as the dryer is. truly woeful. You take all the trays etc out and put your food on the floor of the oven, so, no rotation happening. As far as defrosting goes if literally cooks one part of it and leaves the rest partially defrosted (see image of one attempt). Trying to reheat leftovers requires you to stop it to turn and stir it several times and its still a patchy result. My $300 LG microwave was brilliant at these simple tasks. Given its lack of performance in these simple tasks, I would not be happy to try the combination convection/microwave cooking. At nearly $3000 this is a pretty looking second small oven... not what I thought I was paying for. Very, very disappointing.
