the smaller branches ended up clogging up the system being crushed not chopped. I looked online for parts to fix the shredding mechanism and was surprised to find that they were NLA. I contacted Michigan who have a similar 2400 w mulcher, to see if their parts would fit but got no joy. So armed with this I raised the issue of parts support with Ryobi and Bunnings the manufacturer and my supplier. Surprise came when I was referred back to Bunnings by Ryobi Customer Service with an RMA. Bunnings gave me like for like a full replacement valued at $499 after three years of use thanks to Ryobi. No questions asked. When I got the new mulcher home I did notice that a disclaimer on the box states that the four year warranty relates to full replacement. They do not have a servuce department, choosing instead to rely on the product quality. Now depending on your point of view and the Consumer Affairs requirement for any product that is sold carries a warranty, it woukd appear that if you gave an issue with a Ryobi product especially high value, they don't impose any conditions much. Again surprised to come home with brand new mulcher value $499 and four year warranty, You can't ask for better than that can you? . Thank you Bunnings for the ease of returning the worn item and replacing it. A better than fair outcome.

Very handy compressor – Really handy little compressor. Great for home garage checking of tyre pressures or use on the e-scooter tyres. Very good for inflating mattress etc. I have also used on some serious off road tours which is prob not ideal but it did work fine. Show details

receiving person naturally takes it by the handle that releases the other safety switch- all go, no fingers! Otherwise a good lightweight unit that does a good job. Sweeper attachment is useful.

mower that stops working and only flashing a red light I had the same thing happened to me but I found a way to fix it just tip the mower on its side and spin the blade by hand seems to reset something and works perfectly again haven't had a problem since I hope this helps other people

clearly crafted by someone who knew exactly what a chainsaw should do, and then made the conscious decision to make it do the complete opposite out of sheer spite. The chain tensioner? A sadistic joke. A labyrinth of plastic nonsense so over-engineered it could probably qualify for a PhD in uselessness, and yet it still can’t hold a chain tight for more than three seconds. The motor? Pathetic. It struggles harder than a dying mosquito. You could yell at a tree and get better cutting power. And the oiler? Don’t make me laugh. It doesn’t oil the chain - it oils you. Every squeeze of the trigger just baptizes your hands in disappointment and regret. I wouldn’t wish this saw on my worst enemy. If given the choice between using this sorry excuse for a tool or gnawing through an Ironbark with a single, loose tooth, I’d sharpen the tooth and get to work. Because at least that would be faster, quieter, and far less humiliating.

wooden items. I've been using it regularly and even though it works well, it can "bog" down and trip the circuit breaker if a too big a shave is attempted. The cutting blades are easy to remove and replace, and they can be sharpened for re-use which is a lot cheaper than buying replacements. The owners manual is easy to read and understand. Although I believe a thicknesser fitted with spiral cutters, which is generally more expensive, would provide a smoother finish, I'll rate this Ryobi Thicknesser as 4 out of 5 stars as it is good value for money and has a good warranty period.

ever. The really heavy cast iron base reduces the vibration usually inherent to these types of sanders. Belt changes are dead easy. There are some plastic covers in some places but they do not appear to be structural. Mine haven't broken or failed yet. The 370W motor is way more than you need for DIY or medium duty works. I have not experienced any RCD tripping even under heavy load. Belts and pads are standard sizes and easy to obtain. I can not recommend this machine highly enough. One minor point is the metal shield under the belt platter can rattle a little if you don't properly nip up the screws holding it in place. Other than that it certainly represents good value for your DIY workshop.

across the workpiece makes roughing so easy. Unfortunately there is a design error with the placement of the dust collector (which does work!) In that, it's proximity to your hand while using it can give you some nasty static shocks. It would be better if the port for the dust collector was round to accept a vacuum, instead of rectangular. Plenty of grunt and variable speed helps for different features of my project. Belts didn't slip off, all ran true on my machine. Changing belts was annoying due to the adjustable frame but benefits outweighed the negatives, especially when working with exotic timber where digging in is not really an option. Requires all ppe, including hearing.

battery, two collection bags and now the battery charger unit - what disgrace this product has been for me. They say doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of stupidity - well, I'm stupid for wasting money on this lousy product. Think carefully about buying this Ryobi product.

hard. Set up the stand, and the table is not level!?! Got a 15mm lean across, and 8mm lean front to back. Whilst theoretically it doesn’t affect the function of the table - it’s not in any way OK for the table to be out of square on the basic parameter of levelness. More than disappointed - I sent them a question on how to fix it, and they don’t monitor their queries inbox. Sent them a second - no response again. Tried to send Bunnings a complaint - the form doesn’t work! (Not an unusual tactic for big corporates.) I have stocked up on #Ryobi tools this year (30!). And overall they are good, but service matters. I will be returning this for a credit.

mixing with petrol, and a tool to rewind the line quickly. If you follow the instructions the engine starts easily all the times. The device is pretty powerful and uses very little petrol, a full tank last me for several cuts of an average 750 m2 block. Loading the wire is also easy. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the head broke down within 10 months, it just lost the top knob first and I kept using it and rewinding manually, eventually the whole lot failed. If you are aware of this issue you can buy replacement knobs pretty cheap, but you might need a couple every year or so. I found that an old head from my previous electric aeg fits and am using it for now. I will go to Bunnings and ask about warranty replacement and update the review later

are also a fair bit of work, not particular robust, don’t work on shrubby gardens, and are about $80. So this one (skin only, $99) began to look good, particularly after a recent shoulder injury. Wife’s question was, “will it do dynamic lifter?” Answer, yes. I’ve only done a small amount of work, but it’s fast and even compared to hand-broadcasting, and not too noisy. Points and tips: The adjustable dispersion will be useful for areas requiring sharply different treatments - if it works! For ‘heavier’ pellets like dynamic lifter, it casts them almost 2 metres – dark pellets not immediately obvious except when they strike leaves, so caution to not over-fertilise is needed – just walk a little faster? It's one-speed only. I haven’t yet tried it on light stuff like lawn-seed, but with six ‘size’ (bin aperture) settings, don’t anticipate a problem. Final point: Dynamic Lifter pongs – and just a trace left on the spreader – which doesn’t appear to be washable – stank out my shed. It has now been banished, sealed in a plastic bag in the (lockable) outer darkness. Summary: For a large suburban mixed-garden type block, this seems to be a good tool. I anticipate it turning a hour-plus of mediocre-uneven hand-labour into less than 20 minutes of good work. I hope the newer lime-green Ryobi tools are as good as the old blue ones, I have some of those still working after 20 years (DIY only).

Ryobi 36V 730CFM Jet Blower (R36XBLW30-Tool Only) Review – 1. Why? Who needs a leaf blower? Enormous noise, thoughtlessly blowing leaves and grass… Read more

clippings onto the public roadway, blocking street drains, damaging your hearing and undermining good neighbourly relations? Or so it seemed! However, Ryobi has, in this case, created something well beyond my expectations. 2. Which model? First, this review is about the 36V Whisper 730CFM Jet Blower. Ryobi has other leaf blowers. But it is the 36V Whisper 730CFM which tops product tests and reviews in Australia, UK and USA for the quietest leaf blower available with serious umph! Don’t mix it up with other models. 730CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) from the rear oriented fan-intake, gives a very respectable blast of air (20.7 cubic metres per minute). It puts this machine in the serious blower range (albeit far from those more powerful V8 brick-moving, petrol-driven machines). 3. Sound? Well, ‘Whisper’ is a relative term, however in this case it’s pretty good. The Australian Specs say 78 decibels, but the UK reviews say 58 decibels on the same rating scale. I suggest it’s probably somewhere between, about the noise level of an average upright vacuum cleaner. While one still should wear eye and ear protection, this machine is not painful to hear in short bursts. 4. Uses: Well, do you have gum trees? Autumn trees? Do you have solar panels, decks or worse still, a gravel-topping driveway? This machine blows leaves from under solar panels, sweeps a colour-bond roof in a jiffy, and halved my roof-gutter cleaning time (of course no leaf blower/vacuum can actually clean the gutters themselves, except in advertising blurbs). As for a gravel-topping driveway, it is cleared of leaves in minutes without collecting a small pile of gravel mixed in with them (as per raking). And after a rotary-belt sanding job, the job and surrounds are cleaned up in seconds – next to impossible with such very fine dust and a dustpan and broom. And leaf-covered decks with furniture or obstacles – swept clean in seconds. 5. Ergonomics: The tool (including battery) is comfortably held in a single hand at arm’s length. Weight is not a problem. It requires a little practice to shepherd leaves correctly away from car, kids, pool etc. But it is very easy to use. 6. Power: Fits Ryobi 36V batteries. If you already have them, home and hosed. I actually get the same time from a 6.0ah battery on the Whisper Blower as on the Whisper 36V Line Trimmer, about 35 minutes at minimum power settings, which is much better than the Tool packaging estimated at 21 minutes. The ‘Turbo’ button doesn’t add much, and the 3 speed ‘Speed Selector’ is almost unnecessary. It seems all these controls do is chew up more power without adding much to performance. I’ve not found it necessary to increase minimum power settings, which give best battery performance. 7. Price: Well, all Ryobi 36V Whisper tools are probably somewhat overpriced compared to cheaper competition. This is probably due to small production runs rather than expensive design and special components. (Furthermore, the anti-noise improvements should probably be on all equipment, and should have been for a long time! So, full marks to Ryobi for introducing it.) Nevertheless, one has to ask oneself (or perhaps one’s spouse) whether paying a couple of hundred dollars extra for the ‘Whisper’ quietness is worth it. (Apart from happier neighbours). Look at it like this (and I know): better to make a small investment today and avoid permanent hearing damage that emerges in 10-15 years, leaving you with a bill for $5,000 hearing aids (only ever partially effective) and a problem that impacts one’s life options and relationships ever after. 8. Summary: I didn’t know I needed the Ryobi 36V 730CFM Jet Blower until I used it. It is well worth the money. And it performs as well, or better than the various industry reviews suggest.
