call customer service which I did only to find that apparently even though card is used like a bank debit card they can’t/wont cancel it or reissue a new one as your bank would and that whoever’s hands it falls into has the fortune of spending it. How a name as big as VISA can have no protection on their gift cards for loss or damage and the inability to issue a new one if full funds are still on there is beyond me. It’s a half arsed ploy to make money with no security or protection offered if something goes wrong. Customer service not even based in this country, so loud I could barely hear the person on the phone and the line cut out twice. Asked to speak to supervisor who wasn’t even available and never called back. Even website to activate card was constantly experiencing system errors and took more than 5 attempts on different days to activate it. Truely disappointing for such a big name and basically a scam!! I filed a complaint and wanted it to be escalated but all I got was an email that my complaint has been resolved when it wasn’t. They are guided by strict regulations of FSA Act so what they’ve done was against it and can be considered a breach. Hope this review will help any future customers.

purchased a number of the gift cards as the recipient group does not have a bank account. Unfortunately, these cards have 'gone missing'. The cards were not registered or activated. I have managed to put all 8 cards on hold using the Card IDs on the receipt. I have spent time on the phone again today with Card Services establishing that all the cards are secure, they have not been activated or used in anyway.

Clause 1 of the terms and conditions state - By signing the back of the card, or using the Card, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Neither of these things happened, so I believe it is fair to say I am not bound by these conditions.

The facts- - Mastercard have $3,999.60 of our charities funds. - None of these funds have been used in any way. - Card Services advise that these funds can be used on line for purchasing - I just need the numbers and expiry date! This confirms to me that the money is 'available' and 'belongs to us'.

I can see no reason, certainly ethically, that Mastercard should hold these funds. I have had no response thus far from Australia Post. I hope this forum might bring some action. I am respectfully requesting that the funds be re-allocated to new cards, or whatever refund option is available to me.

I have filed an ACCC complaint for further review on this suspicious company with no mobile and lack of email response timeframes. exchanging another general gift card to use at Village (Village requires you to exchange general gift cards to specific E-Vouchers in order to use them at Village), it is easily the most complicated and absolute worst process ever. There aren’t any clear or straightforward instructions at any point, you hit issue after issue (eg. Continuous errors attempting to enter and redeem voucher codes) or their system just gives you nothing at all and won’t allow you to proceed. Customer service is even worse, impossible to access, unhelpful, unapologetic and they take far too long to respond. If and when they do, I haven’t found them to be helpful or interested in my issues and queries. There isn’t any clear information informing customers that all vouchers take at least 24hrs to be activated in their system either, so if by some miracle you happen to get to the point where their website and system actually recognises your voucher, you’re unable to use it straight away and village don’t seem to think this is important to mention. Many of their vouchers and deals don’t even last the minimum 3 years before expiry, with most expiring after 12 months. I have always preferred village over other cinemas but after so many poor and terrible experiences, it’s clear they don’t care about customer support or satisfaction.

'participating' restaurants and was told at the end of a very expensive meal that the restaurant did not accept Gourmet Traveller gift cards (silly me, I didn't think to check with the restaurant BEFORE we booked! Naively assumed if they are listed as participating, that they would honour the gift card that has already been paid for). Learnt my lesson so contacted another 8 restaurants to check if I can redeem my voucher before booking, cannot find one we can travel to! for raffles at a work function I was hosting. I placed the order and waited, but nothing came through. After giving it some time, I contacted my bank, who confirmed the payment had cleared perfectly on their end.

​I was then told by Card.Gift that my order was caught in their "fraud team" net. I immediately replied, explicitly offering to send through my identification or provide any other assistance needed to clear the transaction. Their system tells you to call 1300 375 346 to verify, but you cannot actually get through to do this over the weekend.

​I sent two follow-up emails explicitly DURING their stated customer support hours: ​Monday to Friday: 9 am - 6 pm AEDT ​Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm AEDT ​ I was completely ignored. Several hours went by with absolutely zero communication. With an event to run and no guarantee I would ever receive the items I paid for, I was forced to buy replacement gift cards from a different merchant, who delivered them instantly.

​Then, at 1:31 AM, I finally received an email from Card.Gift. Not offering help, but stating they had simply cancelled my order.

​Even after a legitimate customer offered to hand over full identification to satisfy their security check, their "fraud team" decided I was a threat, ignored me during business hours, and cancelled the order in the middle of the night.

​My recommendation: There are plenty of reliable, instantaneous digital businesses out there. Card.Gift is not one of them. Unprofessional, unreliable, and extremely poor customer service. Stay away.

Stay away from this card if you need to use it quickly takes way to long to activate surly in this day and age you should not have to wait over 2 days they take the money immediately no we're good enough
