is based offshore with the slowest phone services. You are waiting on average 1-2 hours on the phone when speaking to someone who has no idea how to help you because it's a "self-service" based system online. The only problem is the "self-service" system online crashes with "unexpected errors" so frequently, it's surely expected by now. When bringing up things that cannot be processed online without an error - like opening the account or adding an additional account holder, they just stall you for hours over the phone only to tell you nothing can be done. It is not worth the time or effort, seriously look for any alternatives would be better use of your time!

the first statement and set up direct debit a full month before the due date. However, when the due date passed, Amex didn’t charge my account as expected. A few days later, I received an overdue fee and interest charge. Despite doing everything correctly, I was penalized for their failure. This alone was bad, but what followed was even worse. 2. Frustrating App To resolve the issue, I tried reaching out to customer support. The only way to chat online is through their mobile app—there’s no web option. Sadly, the app itself is a nightmare to use. It repeatedly disconnected me, claiming I had been inactive for 5 minutes, even though I was actively typing messages. On one occasion, it cut me off mid-sentence while I was composing a response. 3. Rude Customer Support Due to the app issues, I ended up talking to multiple agents, and the experience only got worse. One agent outright dismissed my concerns, insisting I hadn’t set up direct debit—even though a previous agent had already confirmed that I had. When I asked them to check the system or review previous conversations, they refused and doubled down on their claim. When I requested to speak to a manager, the agent abruptly sent a generic “We haven’t heard from you” message and disconnected the chat, despite me having replied just a minute earlier and actively typing at the time.

interest rates on their savings accounts.
I felt a tremendous disappointment today when I received notification from ING informing me that I will now incur an annual fee on my 'no frills' low interest rate Orange one credit card. They have other cards products with all the bells and whistles, which incur higher fees/interest together with other benefits.
Now I'm being penalised (and possibly, subsidising their upmarket products) for electing to not be part of the high-end customer base.
Disgraceful move ING, especially at a time when so many of us are are doing what we can to deal with the ever-increasing cost of living while still having some sort of lifestyle. (To think, I use to sing your praises to my friends).

and need to take it back or my credit limit will be suspended. I always pay back on time and have never been ask to take back those few extra bucks which would be spent soon anyway. We talking about credit card, yes?! Today I got another SMS warning me that my credit card limit is going to be suspended in July, month from now, and my credit card cancelled mid August. And, sure enough, to repay all outstanding rates before they close my account. Seriously?? First, I couldn't believe then I thought: must be a spam, fake, fraud whatever but not for real. Of course I called ME customer service and was waiting over 40 minutes before I hang up. Later afternoon, same day, I call again and waited well over 20 minutes before I got a nice lady to talk to. When I explained my concerns she assured me that it was true, my credit card is about to be permanently closed. When I asked what would be the reason as I know I did nothing wrong she bluntly replied: we are closing all Frank cards and I can't tell you details because we haven't been told. Still in shock, I asked why I haven't got an email or where on their website customers can read details she answered even more mysteriously: I'll lodge your complaint in writing to my boss... I don't think anyone needs my explanation why I'm now leaving ME bank and closing all of my accounts with them
