System has just started to periodically stop flowing for short times. Is this a tank flush issue ?
Hi Terry, Thanks for raising your question. Given the age of the unit (11+ years) we would suggest that the unit be given a flush. Please contact our After Sales & Service on 1300 365 115 Option 2 to be put in touch with our local service agent.

The water heated by this thing is just far too cold for winter. How do you turn up the temperature?
Hi Ben, I have exactly the same issue. My system is 10 years old and it has been a good system, but over the last couple of winters the water hasn't been hot enough. I have attempted to adjust the thermostat but the plastic spindle for the thermostat has been sun/heat faded and is too brittle to turn. I was hoping that DUX could advise whether this system has any anodes that may need replacing.
Hi Ben, Thanks for your question. The thermostat is only able to be adjusted by a suitable qualified tradesperson. Our Service Agents are also able to do this, please call 1300 365 115 Option 2 to be put in touch with your local Dux Service Agent or could you please email your full name, product review username, best contact number, address where the unit is installed and the model and serial number of the unit to help@dux.com.au so we can check and provide you the details.

Hi John, mine did that recently and it was because the condensation overflow pipe got blocked. The little reservoir/guide in the top then fills up and overflows. Clear out your pipe!

My dux has just now started tripping power had a look in the top and the fan had come apart, looks like it’s been like this for awhile because the service rust. I have removed it from system and now running fine heating up water and not tripping power. My question is can I leave this of or do I need to replace it?? $200+ for a replacement
Hi Kimbo, Thanks for raising this concern. The fan will need to be replaced (by a suitably licensed Tradesperson) as it is an integral component of the heating process. Operating without fan is not recommended and can cause permanent damage to the refrigeration components.
The part number for the fan is H3199 (Grey Hotlogic controller) or H1046 (Red Hotlogic controller).
Regards,
The Dux Team
Thanks for the reply Dux Team, would this be under warranty as the system manufacturers date is only 27/07/2017 ?? I don’t have a receipt but I would like to think that being only 3 years old and the fan being a integral component, falling apart the way it has.
Hi Kimbo, Thanks for getting back to us. Can you email through your name, phone number, address where the unit is installed, model number and serial number of the unit to help@dux.com.au so we can check and answer it for you.

Email sent, thanks
Where can I buy the mounting bracket for the fan on theDUX airoheat pump in Queensland please, I do not need the fan. Thanks Graham.
Hi Graham - I have no idea - Peter
Hi Graham, Thanks for raising that question. You can get our spare parts from local plumbing stores like Reece, Tradelink, Bunnings, Samios or any local Plumbing supplies store. Please note that you can't just buy the bracket, you will need to buy the fan assembly.

We have noticed Orange / Rusty coloured water coming from the hot water taps mainly in the mornings. We have a full copper cold water service. The orange / rust colour is not evident every morning. My wife normally has a bath about 10.30pm most evenings, and the water is not turned on again until the morning,. So we assume that when the tank is refilling after using hot water that is when this orange / rust coloured water is occurring. We had Sydney Water check our cold water supply and they could not notice any discoloured water. They even disconnected the house from the main stop cock and ran the water for at least 10 minutes. So does anyone know what is causing this problem, and is it a potential health problem. Regards, Dennis - Croydon - Sydney
Hi Dennis,
We'd be happy to assist you with your question and sorry for the delay.
If you can email through your contact number, model number and serial number of the water heater to help@dux.com.au it will be great.

Hi Dennis,
From the information given, unfortunately it seems that the tank is beginning to rust. Given the age of the unit, we would suggest replacement with another heat pump or a 250L electric storage unit.
Best Regards,
The Dux Team
Hi, thank you for your advice....well looks like we will have to replace before winter. Regards, Dennis
Hey Denis, I’m Louise from qld. Read your question. We’ve had the exact same problem. Intermittent orange water coming from our taps. Our local water authority was even looking into our orange tea coloured water as we thought it was from main water. We too were told our drinking water was safe after lab testing. It’s definitely the junk dux heat pump. Don’t wait to get a new system if you can..... not worth the potential health risk. We’ve just had an electric rheem installed today. When it was removed orange brown water was extracted when the dux was emptied. Plumber said these systems have rods inside that break down and rust. Hope this helps, it’s taken us over a month to solve the mystery of our orange water.
I need to replace the anode in my heater .How many anode are in it and what size? thank you.
Hi Yes, There is one accessible sacrificial anode, a suitably qualified tradesperson will be able to change it for one to suit local water conditions. Our Service Agents will be able to provide this service as well, please call our After Sales & Service on 1300 365 115 Option 2 to book it.

Can I use both hot water outlets at the same time on the D2FH00000C model?
Hi Wayne,
Thanks for your question.
The dual outlets allow flexibility to connect separate hot lines to the bathrooms as well as to the kitchen/laundry areas.
Thanks,
The Dux Team
Have an issue with the fan running continuously. No leaks in hot water system and no constant drips from the relief valve. I can see fluid moving in the compressor sight glass. The Hotlogic controller has a steady green and red led which states it is operating correctly. The system produces hot water but I'm sure the power usage is going through the roof with the fan on all the time. The only thing I could think would be a stuck relay contact but can't find any wiring diagrams to check. Any ideas gratefully received.
I inherited a dux airheat system when I purchased this house in early 2016
The system was registered in 2009
I never ever hear a noise from it
I have continuous hot water
But
I have never noticed the fan working
Should I be concerned ?
Fan does not work all the time but when it is heating water it should be going. Probably best to get it serviced given age but in our view Dux products are poor quality and getting service help from them is worse.
I had an sparky here since I posted this and we decided that since it heats water we will leave it alone
In the 2 years I’ve lived here the fan has never moved
And given its age it appears to be doing well
Thank you for your response
You need to turn the temperature modulation valve, turn it anticlockwise all the way out, . This valve mixes hot water and cold water to give a safe temperature

Hey big John
Is this going to make the fan move
It’s not moved in 2 years and I still get perfect hot water
I think leave well alone as to tamper might just set it off on a downward spiral
My heater is rattling and noisy in the top section, what is the problem?
Rob
The thing is a piece of crap ..you need to ditch it asap for the health of your family.. just buy a standard element type hot water system .. a current affair need to do a story on this hotwater system ..yes i am a plumber
Mine is doing the same - have you found a solution by any chance?
Thank you for your replies. The solution, according to my local hot water person, is to convert it to a normal electric hotwater system. It is possible to do it with this model for about $180. He said it is not worth repairing as an air pump system, too expensive, and may break down again. So I am going to convert it.
Thanks Rob. Ours isn't a major issue at this stage so might wait a bit longer and see if it gets worse. Our cylinder is on the back deck and we can hear the occasional rattling sound from the lounge room when the fan is operating. The rattling isn't really noticeable on the back deck, only in the lounge. Other than that it has been fine and our hot water bills are really cheap (hence my hesitation to convert to electric). Good luck with it!
expect it is the fan bearing, not sure if you can replace the bearing or whole fan. Fans are about $200 and they recommend an electrician or plumber to change - 4 screws and plug in
Thank you for your reply, msrk. My plan is to convert the water heater to a normal electric hot water service. It is still heating the water, but I turn it off at night, so as not to disturb the neighbours.
I have a Dux Airoheat heat pump system. There was a rattling noise which I traced to the fan blade hitting the power supply cable. The fix was to add a cable tie to hold the supply cable away from the rotating fan blade David
Thanks, David
I have the model stated, all around the condensate overflow hose at the top of the unit, water is running down the side of the system onto the ground, I have disconnected the hose and it is clear so the condensate drain is not blocked. Why is the water running all down the side or the system. No rain contributing ?
Hi, I have the same problem. It's a crappy design issue. The drain hole for the condensation is in a crap position and also blocks up super quick and so the condensation generated by the heat pump just runs out over the top. There's not much you can do unless you want to remove the top every month or so and try to clean it out.
