My pump fan motor has failed, and I am trying to buy a new one. Has anyone brought one of late that can give me the model number of the new motor? I live in Port Neill South Aust, and closest main towns are Port Lincon or Whyalla
Hi Mark I thought these things come with a decent warranty period? If you get the dimensions and electrical info of the motor you could probably contact plumbonline or another appliance parts supplier. You may have to remove the fan for shaft size or get one already fitted possibly the dux airoheat fan/motor may suit? But that is just a guess so please check first. Also check the capacitor you may need to replace it the dux fan/motor come with one I think.
Is it normal to have water coming from the heat pump unit? It is always creating a puddle across our concrete.
Hi Mark, thanks for reaching out. If it is just doing that while the fan is in operation then that's fine. If it is doing that constantly there is an issue. Let us know if the latter, please.
Hi. Thanks for your quick response . It's leaking water when the fan is in operation, but the problem is that the water runs across our outdoor entertaining area. Is there a way to guide the water to a drain? I can not see where the water is coming from. It just appears to be generally coming out. I am hoping the water can be guided to enter a tube, so that I can direct it to a drain.
Can anyone let me know where the water comes from on the heat pump unit? I can not find the source of the water.
we had one installed a month ago and has broken down twice, we did not get a complience notice from the installers or a contact name of the installers my partner asked if there was paper work and was told no it was all good .We did get a user manual but that has been of no help in contacting the people who installed it ,as we run a camping site our guest have had no showers . How do we get in contact with the installers????
Absolutely u need to harass the website and the service contact no , hourly as only persistence gets results from eco alliance as they don't care. Make a nuisance of yourself and in a month or 2 they will send a company tech out to reinstall the unit. Email [Name Removed] manager , service@ecoalliance.com.au .That is what my experience was and will be again on next problem.NB email the accounts department manager Ivan , copay@ecoalliance.com.au, for the certificates plumbing and electrical -he was quick to reply to my similar requests.
Our system is close to neighbours. In the past heat pump disturbed sleep. Does the pump noise disturb their sleep? Is it possible to have the pump work only in daylight hours?
My heat-pump noisy bit known as compressor looks and sounds exactly like the outdoor part of a split air-con. If you are worried about noise, you can run the heat pump during daylight hours. You can remove the front right panel by simply undoing 4 phillips head screws. You will see the control display module. You can select eco 55C mode which will allow you to set operating times in a weekly schedule. Another way is via smart plug. Smart plug will help you see power use. Smart plugs could misbehave which is a trade off for added features you get.
No leave it on 24/7 for your enjoyment and works more efficiently, although l found turning the compressor down to 55 degrees ambient setting requires unit to only come on an hour once or twice to keep the tank topped up with hot water. Small extra cost 40 cents per night and limited noise. Also make sure compressor unit is level and on rubber feet to insulate noise vibration.
Cheers.
how do it work - and how can you possibly get heat out of the surrounding ait?
Does anyone know where I can find a manual for this unit? Had one installed last week, but the installers could not give me a manual, ringing the installation company was useless too.
Hi John.did you get a manual..I can't believe they don't give you one at installation.I just want to know how to turn temp up
Not sure if this one applies to your unit but worth checking. external link
Go online to ecogenica search for your manual
what is standby mentioned in the panel. I am getting only lukewarm water not hot in my house. while checking the panel it shows auto and standby in the lift side of the panel
Don't leave on stand by make sure it's set to auto or on, continuously - only an extra .40 cents to run 24/7 which is more efficient and better for maintenance problems
When it eventually brakes down out of warranty can i replace it with another free unit or does the govt only allow one payment
Our systems are quality tested to a very high, Australian standard, so you shouldn't have any issues at all. The government does allow 2 upgrades per household, so if you would like to upgrade again in the future, this shouldn't be a problem either.
Yes you can when more 3 years new. Still get stc,s and aust govt rebates.
Hi, had my system installed for almost a year now and it’s been doing just fine, missing the old 315l unit though.. anyways. My hot water seems to be lasting shorter and shorter as of lately. Is there a boost option or should I book a service? Just Barely get 1 shower
Get ready to chase EcoAlliance for an answer. You’ll need your warranty and lots of energy. My issue started with installation 3 months ago and it’s still not resolved.
I'm not impressed with head office, did not know I was to get a very noisy fan to go with the tank 2nd February and neighbours can also hear it. Now head office avoiding me. Not happy!
That sounds familiar. It’s such a battle to get any information. I have had to repeat the story so many times, they don’t seem to record anything you say. It’s pretty simple, replace the faulty tank with the same size tank and install it properly
Hey there! If this is still an issue, we'd love to help get this sorted. If you can email the details of the issue to us at service@ecoalliance.com.au, a member of our team will reach out to chat to you!
Need to leave unit on 24/7 , very efficient to keep water hot. Extra .40 cents per night to have a hot shower every day ps don't forget need to change your internal tank anode every 5 years and check every 3 good luck
i am going away and need to turn the water and the water pump off and then also the dyna heat. Is this going to damage the unit?
Hi Maria! There is no issues with turning the system off, just note that while the system is off that the water will be stagnant unless drained. Once turned back on, you will need to reset any timers etc you had previously set :)
No , turn to holiday mode or just turn compressor temp down to say 45 degrees. Remember unit will still do a hygiene high temp run every week for water safety reasons.
How long can the electricity be off (e.g., a power outage) before the settings on the control unit (the box with an LCD screen and eight buttons inside the heat pump box) loses the settings, such as time, timers, mode and temperature setting?
I ask because I went to check the temperature that the heater was set at, and noticed that the time was about 8 hours wrong and that there were no timers set.
Hi Clint! Thanks for reaching out. After a black out, the system will restore itself to factory settings. Which will see the unit return to 'ECO' mode. ECO mode is a holiday function that means the system will revert to heating up twice in a 24 hour period (every 12 hours). This overrides the heat to use nature of the product and any timers you have set. To change the unit back to its' recommended setting 'AUTO', you will need to access the control panel inside the compressor unit and press the 'MODE' button until the unit says 'AUTO' and re set your timers :)
Is it possible to control the temperature/clock/timers with Bluetooth? I noticed that the control unit (with the LCD screen and eight buttons) inside the heat pump has a symbol that looks like a radio symbol (a bit like a WiFi logo). I pressed (and also long-held) the button a few times to see if anything popped up on the Bluetooth screen on my iPhone, but nothing did.
Hi Clint! Thank you for reaching out :) Unfortunately our systems are not yet Bluetooth compatible. The control panel is set up to be Bluetooth compatible in the future, if and when updates arrive :)
I chatted with the ecogenica designer recently , he said Bluetooth compatible is available now. Maybe eco alliance aren't aware of the upgrade.
Our system is outside 2 of our bedrooms. We can’t have the windows open as the fan seems to be constantly running. Is this normal???? Or do I have a faulty system?
Maybe not a fault but first turn your temp settings or compressor down to 55 degrees, see if that helps. My unit runs 24/7 and only for a hour or so during night if no one is using the hot water.
Why do you say your going to get back to me and you don’t bother how long do I have to wait to get my hot water fix if it was your hot water heater it would be done by now worst company to deal with
They never get back to you you need to escalate and then escalate a company tech to call , easy fix for most faults but they don't comply.
Why don’t you answer your phone or emails what kind of a company works like this ?
You get the run around from one lady to another when you call and can't understand them,
are the fans supposed to be running all the time?
No , set compressor temp to 55 degrees and let unit run 24/7.will run if the shower is in use or wash unit on.
where are the systems made.
Breaside Vic ( Footscray)
We have a family of 6, what size unit should we get?
The biggest, is now the 290 R290 unit and let it run 24/7 cost to install now $1100 approx.
How long before you have hot water? I was advised to avoid heat pumps altogether. Not efficient. It took a bucket of water before getting any hot water I was told by someone who had recently built a house with Masterton and he had no choice to have heat pump by Dux in his double storey house. He is going to change the system as soon as he get an occupational certificate. He had nothing but problems with this system.
Hot water, if you can call it that is supplied when hot tap only turned on and nobody has used it for a few hours. This system has been the worst thing we have ever done. There is a reduction in power cost because there is NO hot water. 1 person can shower then you have to wait. We have 3 teenagers. When put in the government drilled a hole in the old system which worked fantastic. We can’t even go back to it now. Which was what we were going to do until we found this had occurred. They can come and pick up their useless system it is in no way beneficial. Extremely disappointed, annoyed and angry.
Hi Michele, only had heat pump installed couple of weeks ago so cannot comment on long term but we have lots of hot water, have a 310liter system. It takes about same time for hot water to come through as old electric element system. The installer must set up temp control correctly sounds like Jason has control valve set incorrectly. Heat pumps are more efficient than electric elements or gas don’t know about long term reliability..
Let unit run 24/7 ,so efficient cost is .40 extra per night . Set temp to 60 to ensure max use.
Purchased Dynaheat 260L May 2022, did not get any paper work from plumbers or electricians. Now Hot Water Service has been leaking the past 2 weeks. Live in Gippsland, how do I get my paperwork. I rang call center but the girl had trouble understanding the information and confused with spelling of names she said she was at a call center. Not sure if the information I was asking for will reach your company
Just got the brush off, "sorry we cannot help you and thank your for your time" this what the rep from Eco Alliance said to me. They cannot even help me get it fixed under warranty so I suppose I will have to pay for it myself and lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman.
Hi Iam guessing it’s leaking in the middle of the hoses connecting the tank and compressor. If so it’s a quick and simple fix. Also a known effect. There is a connector fixing the hoses together. ( in the middle of the hoses). They have a rubber sealing washer. After about 10 to 14 days from new the washer has settled in but also has been compressed a bit, causing the the connection to become loose. All that’s needed is 2 larger shifters. Pull back the lagging a bit to expose the 2 nuts. Attach the shifters and tighten. It should only be needed this once. This happened to my neighbour and myself. and was a simple and easy fix. Just tighten and all good. In both case James Todd (0448 425 755) responded immediately to get a plumber out to us to fix, which they did for the neighbour but for me I had already just tightened them up.
Perhaps the installers should organise a follow up visit after 10 days from new to address this or discuss with client if they are comfortable to do this for themselves, if they have a bit of mechanical knowledge? Regards Kev
As for paperwork there is a delay. Again if you call the installer rather than eco alliance they will chase it up for you. Regards Kev
We got no paper work for either of our two installations. The help desk is hopeless and no one gets back to you. They leak, the water pressure is terrible and the smell of the water is disgusting . I am cursing the day we tried to do the right think for the environment. These people need A Current Affairs investigation so they stop this disgusting customer service. In fact I might even follow up how they are paid by the government because whom would want to use them.
How do you get on to the installer
All wrong, email Ivan ,the accountant and request certificates , copay@ecoalliance.com.au . Then email, [Name Removed] the service manager relentlessly, until he appoints company tech [Name Removed], to attend to your concerns email ; service@ecogenica.com.au
